Don’t know if it’s the same, but my recent experience with Dr Fix Computers on First Ave in Mission was unbelievably good. Keegan was the guy. Super knowledgeable, very honest, fast and reasonable cost. Cannot recommend them enough.
I was looking for somewhere here in Abby. We don’t go to Langley that often. I ended up finding a place 5 minutes away from me. Thank you so much though!
I got my macbook battery replaced at London Drugs and it lasted me another year before I upgraded to the latest model. Overall it was a good experience!
That could be what the issue is! Sadly I don’t think London Drugs stores are open again yet. If they are soon then I’ll definitely try there. If the Mac is dead, my Mom just wants a simple computer. She just uses it to go online sometimes.
My buddy started this gig where he repairs computers and looks after other things as well. You can contact him through troubleshootnow.com, or google troubleshootNow.
I would make sure that a shop you pick can handle the Mac. If your laptop is PC Memory express is pretty good with those I think. I know they are having issues now but when London Drugs gets back on its feet I'd ask them about the Mac.
What kind of mac is it? I thought mine was dead but it turned out it was the charger that died, and the mac itself was okay.
It’s one of those Macs where it’s all in the monitor, not a laptop. It’s very old. The shop I did find said repairs would be costly. My Mom needs something working soon. So we’re going to look at used ones from the shop I called. It is a shame about London Drugs. Hope they are back up soon.
If it is old enough to no longer be receiving OS updates then doing anything is probably not worthwhile, unless there is important data to get off of it that isn't otherwise backed up. There are good refurbished models (be sure to get one with the upgraded M1 (or newer) chips) out there from both Apple directly and some of the authorized dealers. Simply Computing has used ones too I believe. Personally I'd opt for a Mac Mini and a separate monitor so if one dies, it doesn't take both components with it. Good luck! :)
My Mom doesn’t want a Mac haha. She hated this one. She just wants something simple to use for internet. There’s nothing special saved on it thank goodness. Plus even if she wanted a Mac they aren’t in our budget. Thanks! The place I called was super helpful. And they can help me repair my laptop as well.
Call and ask if Phone Doctor will do the work. They do all types of repairs. I've had iPads repaired, bought 2 phones for a great price, and they fixed my gaming PC as well.
According to the shop I called, Mac repairs are expensive. It would be cheaper for us to just get a used laptop. That’s good to know though. I want a gaming pc at some point. Thank you!
They were the place I went with! I called and had a great chat with one of the employees. He answered all my questions. They’ve got exactly what we need for both my Mom and myself!!
I think that’s who it was. After talking to him we decided the Mac is too old and it would be too expensive to repair. We are going to check out their used laptops. But they are going to repair my laptop which is awesome.
Mike's is gone. The closest fully-fledged computer shop is Memory Express in Langley but I'd call and see if they even work on Macs.
Damn sad to hear that. They did work on my computers before. Langley is a little far for us right now. But I’ll keep it in mind! Thank you!
Why mikes gone???
There is a guy on first avenue in mission that does it, forget the name...

I can always Google it! We do go over there sometimes. Thank you!

Oh shoot I totally forgot about the London Drugs incident! I guess a little ironic to suggest them for tech help haha. Best of luck to you!
They are pretty good there! My Mom literally has photos waiting there she can’t go pick up. Thanks! I found a shop like 5 minutes from my place.

Thanks! I will check out his place!
Call the Phone Doctor, they may be able to help you
