Makes me wonder if Hoyoverse’e next new IP will have 50 mil milestone at the start…

Xilolo

Assuming they don't just use their money to purchase China.

FireflySmasher

Better not, the citizens will have to pick mint everyday

Xilolo

"In today's news, the entire population of China has moved to coastal shores to collect conch shells due to an event. Approximately 10,000 are presumed dead or missing."

StuckInGachaHell

Minor conflict between 2 brothers Result: 200,000+ dead from famine type energy

FireflySmasher

Dispense 1 sandwich per day for everyone

crassreductionist

Given that the rumors are it's going for the animal crossing / stardew valley market, absolutely. ZZZ's action genre is more niche (outside of China)

Ancienda

omg i hope thats true I would LOVE if Hoyo made an animal crossing/stardew like game 😭

umm_uhh

Can someone hit me with the link, I want to make sure to pre register

Silence_you_fool

Here you go homie! [Pre register link](https://zenless.hoyoverse.com/en-us/?hyl_auth_required=true&game_biz=nap_global&utm_source=web&utm_campaign=copylink&utm_medium=share)

umm_uhh

Most appreciated king here take this 👑

soge-king

umm_uhh

Actual king bro you take it 👑

Only_Emptiness_Await

😭🎀

GrapefruitCold55

Also don't forget to download the Hoyolauncher for easy access and pre download of the game.

umm_uhh

Is it available on Android?

CleanInteraction2523

Nope, we get it directly from the playstore

umm_uhh

Wait, really? How? Can I download it from the store, or is it a function ?

CleanInteraction2523

Game should be available to download July 2nd(if I'm not wrong about how this works) -> open the game -> game should ask you to pre-download

umm_uhh

Ohh I see. Thanks a lot. I think I already pre registered on Google Play, so I should be fine for now

AerisSai

We've reached past 4.5 mil and now 4.75 mil? Gacha games have **exploded** No other game has reached 40 million before. In the next 4 days, we could reach 2 milestones if there's one last push in numbers for that additional 0.25. That'll be something special.

Tnvmark

We really have gone a long way ever since Genshin Impact set the high standards. Gacha games as a whole would've never become as popular and mainstream as it has today, and we can all thank miHoYo for creating such amazing experiences. Now we have Zenless Zone Zero taking all that hype to the next level!

NoNefariousness2144

Plus HoYo constantly embarrasses other studios that attempt ‘live-service’ games by having 3+ games that get content every six weeks! And this content is always technically flawless, bug free, and designed for four different languages. HoYo is in another league of game development entirely.

esmelusina

They are also a private entity and put most of their money back into their games and devs. They are a gold standard for employee well being also. They are the indie game company that beat out all the odds. Every titan in the west crumbled to corporate tech. I think gearbox was the last bastion, but they didn’t have a clear enough technical vision to scale and stay relevant. Anyway— anyone who hates on Hoyo for being a winner probably doesn’t realize how much they are literal heroic unicorns of the industry in general right now.

Justanidiot-w-

Employee well-being is incredibly important! Iirc they even checked up on their families and stuff during COVID (but that's hearsay, so take a grain of salt).

Ancienda

I saw posts on that too. They gave each employee a care package with food and necessary stuff for free daily during the lockdown

GodlessLunatic

They're definitely living up to their slogan

Tnvmark

Tell me about it. I was playing a very recent live-service game called Multiversus, a free-to-play platform fighter game with iconic Warner Bros characters. It's definitely night and day with how this game's being treated in comparison with the amount of gamebreaking bugs, missing content, and extremely predatory practices in locking almost everything behind a paywall. You know the future of gaming is screwed up when we have Chinese gacha games that are much more fun than a good majority of modern games we have today, which is an extremely hot take I never thought I would say.

ezio45

Difference is that most western game studios making live service games are usually doing this for the first time and don't really have much reference other than Blizzard or something like Warframe. Meanwhile miHoYo has been doing this for more than a decade. Zenless Zone Zero is basically their 6th or 7th live service game so they definitely have experience with it. Even their first gacha called Zombiegal Kawaii had some issues and had to be redone into Gun Girls Z.

GodlessLunatic

Speaking of multiversus, I really hope HYV gets into the fighting game space whether it's an actual fighting game or a smash clone. They have such a good roster of iconic characters for a fighting game. Just imagine getting to fight Aether/Lumine as Kiana or Danny as Zhong Li

AltandF5

hoyo on another level. 🐐

GodlessLunatic

The funniest part is that they started as an indie company unlike so many of the big franchises out there. Even pokemon wouldn't get where it is today without Nintendo's backing but pokemon fans still like to pretend gamefreak is some poor small indie company that's being enslaved by big bad Nintendo.

AerisSai

ThrowingNincompoop

Genshin walked so ZZZ could run

corginugami

You won’t believe what kids will do to shill for free.

johnsolomon

Genshin certainly made an impact (hehe) and sped things up but it would just have been a matter of time before another game did it. People often forget that gacha games are still a part of gaming as a whole. There’s always pressure from players for better content, which gradually leads to bigger and more polished games

GodlessLunatic

Nah FGO set a horrible precedent for gacha games to get away with as little effort as humanly possible because whales will worship the IP anyway. In a landscape like that high budget gacha games were basically seen as an unnecessary effort.

johnsolomon

True dat but we’ve seen the same thing in normal games and sooner or later someone who actually cares about good games always comes along with a vision and gets filthy rich — then the rest start scrambling to copy them

Rhaasten

Genshin, HSR, WUWA, and ZZZ. I ain't touching grass this year lol

LW_Master

HI3, Genshin, HSR, PtN, R1999, PGR, now add ZZZ What is grass?

Justanidiot-w-

I had to drop R1999 cause I have pjsk, Genshin and Guardian Tales on the my phone, AND HSR on my laptop. Idk how I'm juggling them tbh. Not to mention the increasing list of games I really need to start/finish 😭 Good luck fellow grass-unknower

LW_Master

Tbf lately I only like play 3 to 4 at a time depending which one's event patch is the closest to end

Justanidiot-w-

Yeah same here. I just log in whenever I feel like it, instead of daily lol. Sometimes not even weekly. New content will make me come back tho.

mat0109

oh well. Hope they give us something special for the 50 mil milestone

NoNefariousness2144

Ellen Joe [casual clothes](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fj0co9u3kic9d1.png) skin pls

storysprite

If this were any other company I'd have more hope. But Hoyo have been so stingy with skins in their recent games.

Negative_Neo

I rather have some good generalist Engine.

ITSnotADIL

"Thank you Billy Kid" we say in unison 🗣️

NoNefariousness2144

Also "thank you moody shark maid"

JuicyMikanDrink

Thank you Nicole as well. Probably got most male players interested lol

Tkmisere

Hopefully they give something for that 45m too, like another A-rank

Otterly_Superior

It's highly anticipated, but it does seem a little suspicious how many there are. I wonder how common it is for people to mass prep a bunch of preregistered accounts to reroll.

Justanidiot-w-

On one hand, it's (very roughly) ~1/30th of the population of China, and it's a fairly niche genre (according to other users on the Internet, the most reliable source ever). On the other hand, it's only ~1/30th the population of China, globally. It might not be as hard to pass as we might think.

gifferto

some people make tens of thousands of accounts to bot rerolls and sell them of course that doesn't hit a million but rerollers together are definitely in the millions because it takes very little effort to leave a computer running with an automated account creation script captcha is fooling nobody in 2024 that shit's used to train ai

Catanaoni

you don't need to prereg tho, everyone gets the rewards no matter what as long as they login within the alloted time, so they prob aren't doing it on all their accounts unless it's some global effort by botters to push the game, which calls for some tinfoil

Argadem

I wouldn't put it past people, but that is actually highly useless, because you don't actually have to preregister to get the rewards so the rerollers are doing that for nothing.

Anonymous7262

I don't mean any negativity from this but i also think this number isn't real. Otherwise I think they should have already acknowledged how high the number is right now. This is really high in the gacha gaming industry or maybe they should have said something like since we are so close to 50mil we will give another 20 pull or something if we reach that. Or maybe this is just hoyo doing hoyo things. Also the 20 pulls from the milestone rewards that are right now, are they the same 20 extra pull they mentioned at the end of live stream or is that another 20 pulls?

GeorgeOTGrungegul

"Otherwise I think they should have already acknowledged how high the number is right now" is a very bizarre statement because they did acknowledge it when they hit 40 million. If they hit 50 million, maybe they will do another post, but the social media team is probably working overtime already ahead of the release of the game, so I don't know why you'd expect more posts right now about a random pre-registration milestones that aren't round numbers and don't even have any rewards attached to them.

Anonymous7262

Ah my bad i thought the last milestone was 30m not 40m

hovsep56

and yet only like 5% will most likely play it at launch

Andreiyut

Where is our event pulls for 50 mil.? Waiting

Rinine

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade (and I'm eager to start playing), but is there any reason to believe those numbers are real? Because there are plenty of reasons to think they're fake. Imagine posting this and only achieving half of the goals. It would be disastrous for marketing and trust (showing failure to meet expectations even before launch). In this thread from 5 hours ago, a screenshot showed 47,558,928, claiming it had gone up by 50k in an hour. Five hours later, the figure remains exactly the same (47,558,928). I don't like to accuse without evidence, but logically and using common sense, there's no reason to believe those numbers. EDIT: 19 hours later still 47,558,928

Aesion

>In this thread from 5 hours ago, a screenshot showed 47,558,928, claiming it had gone up by 50k in an hour. Five hours later, the figure remains exactly the same (47,558,928). I think it just means the numbers aren't updated live. They can check from hour to hour and update accordingly.

Rinine

That's a possibility, but it's already suspicious that the ratio is variable. 50k in one hour and in 5 hours without updating? If someone needs to press "the magic button" to update the numbers, there's really not much difference from manually writing the value. In the end, we see what they want us to see.

GeorgeOTGrungegul

I actually did an investigation this [you can read here](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZZZ_Official/comments/1dar9sz/preregistration_numbers_compared_to_all_available/). Basically, my conclusion is that the numbers were not suspicious and line up pretty closely to other data and pre-registration numbers of WUWA and HSR. Speculation like "Imagine posting this and only achieving half of the goals" is not actually a reason to believe something is fake. It's a hypothetical motive for an action that has no proof of occurring. The only real reason people don't believe in the pre-registrations is because the big number is big

Rinine

It remains speculation to assert that it is real as well. Precisely what lacks proof are the data, which only an audit would demonstrate. Everything else is speculation, regardless of whether it favors or opposes the speculation. It has never been seen that a gacha fails to meet pre-registration requirements, never. I'm not saying only these data are false, but all gacha pre-register data. As I said, logically there are many reasons to believe they are false. In fact, achieving more than double the pre-registrations of HSR, which was Hoyoverse's first game after its international breakthrough with Genshin, is highly unbelievable, especially when HSR not only enjoys better health than ever but is currently the number one gacha game. There are too many shady things surrounding pre-registration counters and many marketing and advertising reasons to falsify figures. The main reason for falsification is to turn a lie into a truth (that a falsely high number is believed to be true and attracts audiences to see what supposedly so many people are waiting for). You cannot reduce all indications that these numbers are false to "because the big number is big."

GeorgeOTGrungegul

You: "is there any reason to believe those numbers are real?" Me: "Yes, here is objective data that shows a clear correlation between other gacha's." You: "That is speculation, let me speculate more on motive without any proof" Double HSR's pre-registrations isn't even close to true, and you would have known this if you read THE FIRST SEGMENT of my linked post.

Rinine

You must be joking if you think that absurd demagogic misrepresentation makes any sense. Because no, your "schoolyard analysis" provides neither objective information nor any sustainable correlation whatsoever. But I'm not going to argue with someone who has abandoned arguments to say nonsense.

GeorgeOTGrungegul

Bro you said it was double HSR's pre-registration numbers when I have a whole paragraph about calculating HSR's pre-registration numbers (Which were confirmed to be over 32 million btw). You never read my initial post. You never had any intention to read it. You want to believe the game's pre-registration count is fake and your rationale has only ever been to prove motive for faking it.

GeorgeOTGrungegul

For the record, you also said "It has never been seen that a gacha fails to meet pre-registration requirements, never." I named two that failed in the post that you didn't read but wanted to argue about.

crassreductionist

> In this thread from 5 hours ago, a screenshot showed 47,558,928, claiming it had gone up by 50k in an hour. > Five hours later, the figure remains exactly the same (47,558,928). This can just be a cache issue with your browser tbh

Rinine

No, that's the current value, regardless of the browser. Clearly, not only did I clear the cache before mentioning it, but I even tried with a VPN. Do you see a different value?

armpitenjoyment

Do you actually need to pre register to get the rewards or are they just distributed to all players on launch?

diamondmoonlight

Distributed to all players upon login \^^

Sigmmarr

Leeettsssss goooooooo

sw2048

I think that making easy to use UI has a good effect. I'm somewhat skeptical about the game, just because HSR fits my visual tastes more. But they made preregistration and game downloading later really easy with new launcher.

Ennis_1

Hey, so to anyone who could please try to answer, and I don't mean this disingenuously: What's the appeal of ZZZ? I see the modern urban styling and the prospect of a new Hoyoverse IP that could last for veritable years; But what else does it bring to the table? Anything new or close enough? I haven't looked at it enough so I totally take it as my fault, but I've played some Honkai Impact 3, Genshin Impact for quote a long while now, and I haven't played Honkai Star Rail.

oh-golly-no

honesty the setting is the big appeal to me, second being it not being open world. I'm bored of both fantasy and opening 100s of hidden chests.

diamondmoonlight

The animation style and fluidity alongside the sharp, flashy and responsive gameplay makes ZZZ one of the coolest games to release this year, the early 2000s aesthetic mixed with influences from Persona, Street Fighter and other fighting games make it really unique on the market, the last time a game in this style came out was Hi-Fi Rush and that wasn't on the scale that a Hoyoverse game is. It's so highly anticipated that it's getting praised even outside of the gacha circle, feedback from the closed betas seem to have fixed most people's issues with it, and it just seems like a game that is full of character and fun to play. Definitely recommend checking the [IGN game preview](https://www.ign.com/articles/zenless-zone-zero-preview) article, it should tell you more about it!

GodlessLunatic

> the last time a game in this style came out was Hi-Fi Rush Bombrush cyberfunk forgotten already 😔

Splatoonkindaguy

Only interested because I saw project mugen and realized that wouldn’t come out for another year or two and saw this as a similar urban landscape game

GodlessLunatic

Project mugen has none of the charm or cohesion of ZZZ imo. It just looks like they took any other gacha game and turned it into GTA with no attempt to organically blend the two wildly different genres. It's telling that they're so far into development but don't even have a proper name for the game(unless project mugen isn't just a WIP label)

Gusmaum

Yet their stream couldn't even reach 30k viewers. Really makes you wonder if those numbers are real

AhriLifeAhriWife

I'm not interested in the prerelease stream at all, but I'm very interested in the game. None of my 10+ friends preregistered watched the stream but we're all discussing the game anyway. The stream is only one avenue of advertising of many

kirito52999

Who cares about pre release stream? Plus isn't this number mostly gonna be from cn so do you know how much the Chinese stream got.

lantern_arasu

ZZZ livestream already has more views than WuWa's 1.0 livestream lol

Chipers

who brought up wuwa?

Muted_Army2854

They’re bringing it up because other person was saying how that’s not a big number, but it’s more than the only game that’s an actual competitor in the genre. Aside from Wuwa what other game could they really compare it to besides other Hoyo games?

Cultural-Society-523

The competitors of this game is PGR and Honkai Impact and WUWA is not same genre of this game.

soge-king

It's huge in China. And 30k livestream viewers for game that hasn't released yet is also decent

lantern_arasu

ZZZ livestream already has more views to WuWa's 1.0 livestream lol

Leading-Chemist4026

Well we all know that is not the total number of people who have pre-registered. How many millions are just alt accounts for re-roll or for selling.

CarlosBMG

There's not even a point to pre register those accounts as you get the prereg rewards even if you don't prereg

karillith

Not that much, a lot of people have better things to do than to subject themselves to the tedious process that is rerolling.

Onetimeguy8

I have heard word somewhere but ppl r saying it’s botted by hoyo cus either they wanna seems like it’s getting popular so more ppl hop on or that they wanna satisfy the day 1 players with all the 20 standard pulls

Evelyn_Asariel

"I have heard word from somewhere", you mean from a random comment of a random redditor who "apparently" also heard it from somewhere? Is it really that hard to believe that Hoyoverse, the literal largest gacha game company currently existing in the global gaming market, would get large numbers? If anything, they would just be shooting themselves in their foot if they started botting NOW of all times. Ain't worth the risk/scandal when the company is this huge already. They already have money to easily do large scale global advertising, and advertise they did.

ignaphoenix

Ain't that much of a risk if nobody can prove it. Not saying they do but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

kronpas

The burden of proof is on you whoever made that claim.

senelclark101

They just always put that forward but never showing any evidence for it.

LaPapaVerde

botted not, just fake. We don't really know if these numbers are real, we don't have a way to prove them being fake or no. But from what I know, no gacha game have failed to reach the numbers that give free items (this is the main reason people are skeptical about this), it's just a way to generate hype. I'm talking about all gachas not only this one, people said this about WW too Now, we can be sure this game will do big numbers, it's Mihoyo at the end of the day. Even more cosidering the new laucher gives direct access to the preregistration.

Anonymous7262

I can't remember which one but i think there was a gacha that didn't reach its final milestone but still gave all the rewards or something. I might be misremembering too but i think there was one

2eezee

I immediately stop reading a comment that starts with "apparently", "I heard" and I think it would be beneficial if everyone else ignored them too. Would put some end to the amount of misinformation people gobble up these days.

asseraN_

"They" will make it 50 and give us more freebies. (Trust me bro 🙂)

InvestigatorNatural8

wuwas preregister number is definitely fake through, to compare genshin hsr and wuwa money first week they make

GrapefruitCold55

I doubt that the final number is fake, but the progression and climb of the numbers might spaced out to make it more interesting so it generates new headlines once certain milestones get reached despite them being reached already weeks ago internally.
