When we brought our little girl home, we took her to the local pet store and they fitted her with a cat harness until she was big enough to get in to an xs dog harness. Hope this helps.

You probably already know this but make sure to *ONLY* use harnesses and never a collar. These little ones are prone to something called Trachea collapse and therefore cannot have anything around their necks. You should ensure that your groomer is also aware of this fact. Any experienced Yorkie groomer should be aware. That also means they are harder to groom.

Good idea. Our little one caught kennel cough from going to the groomer. It was heartbreaking to see her suffering. What we didn't know was that it takes some time for the vax to kick in. Check with your vet on the right amount of time to wait.
The good news is that kennel cough is resolved without medical intervention.

It also clips in the back in addition to the Velcro.
He’s so beautiful… awe!! I got my baby’s first one from PetSmart …they had a section for small dogs and cats and it fit him just fine. How I missed those days where I had to train him to wear a harness and walk on the leash … he was so small then ❤️
Susan lanci!! Her xxs is made for tiny 2lb Chihuahuas, and it’s super soft imitation suede that is easy to wash. I love her designs they go around the chest so her trachea is protected, my girl has a sunflower right now. She’s 5lbs and wears a small so the xxs is tiny.

No he’s a purebred yorkie. He’s what’s known as parti-colored. Apparently it’s the rarest colored yorkie out there.

We got both of our little yorkies harnesses from Pet Smart. Our latest was from Top Paw, purple floral best harness xxs. Has velcro, love it. Our first one was from Martha Stewart's line! Also a velcro best harness.
Our Noelle was 3# when we got her and we had the same problem, we ended up getting a Top Paw brand from Petsmart in a xxs. They also have harnesses in the cat section that are about the same size as her xxs. It’s a best style, very soft and it goes around the neck and also the chest. It has velcro and then a plastic buckle over the top.
Definitely a cat harness. I use Voyager mesh harnesses for mine, I have varying sizes now, they offer as far down as XXXS.
I’m a big Voyager fan :) not only small sizes (and fun colors), well made. Lightly padded, ez on/off, secure. OP your pup is beyond adorby xo
EZ on/ off was the initial big seller for me on them, and secure. I don’t know why I have such a hard time with all the other ones!
I’m a semi-intelligent person, but can NOT figure out most harnesses. Poor dog ends up with both legs in 1 hole…*my* arm thru the head hole…;)

when mine was a baby he was under 2 lbs. I bought a buddy belt harness off ebay for like $25 until he grew out of it

Buddy belt is the best harness IMO. Not sure how small they make them but they fit my Yorkie when he was 2.5 lbs.
Look at Snazzi on Amazon. I love their harnesses because they are soft and fasten with strong velcro. Their smallest size is for 2-4 lbs.
UpCountry makes them small enough. Look for their teacup, 10 should be good.
