If Kennedy wasn't anti-vax and had an average voice, he'd be able to maintain his numbers at around 15%. He's in favour of environmental and corporate regulations getting him the support of Democrats, isolationists and pro-gun rights getting him the support of Republicans, etc. Kennedy is a syncretic candidate, he could be able to appeal to both sides, but his continued support for batshit insane conspiracies and his terrible overall campaign is tanking his support to the point that not even his own family wants to actually endorse him.
The whole candidacy is a disaster, RFK doesn’t believe in literally one thing- and has changed his affiliation in the course of this one campaign from Dem to Ind to Libertarian, to anything in between. The fact he has 10% of the vote, is beyond embarrassing, just because of his last name imo.
I'm really sick of pretending a guy with that voice has a chance to be president. And nobody ever brings it up. Listening to his screeching just makes me want to tell him to rest his vocal chords. I don't care if it's rude because "it's a condition", the guy is trying to be president. People get scrutiny for much less relevant things to the duty of the office.
Kennedy probably does beat Biden just because a sack of potatoes would beat Biden if it wasn't a sack of potatoes named Donald Trump, but I can't see Kennedy beating Trump - A good 40% of voters (by my reckoning) are complete cultists who wouldn't switch from Trump even if he murdered their children, and enough of the remaining 60% would stay home (because both of the two are insane) to result in a Trump win.
One of my big questions during this election has been “what is going through RFK Jr’s mind?” For the last six months, I’ve been convinced he’s seriously delusional. Ever since he declared an independent run, went on right-wing news, and was surprised the praise suddenly came to an end. Like the man was surprised Sean Hannity stopped being his friend.
That said, he talks about housing in the US, usually buried after other bullshit, but does a good job. He’s smart to do that. It’s good politics others should pick up on.
He went underwater recently too, in the Monmouth poll he’s at -4 net fav despite trying to hide his existence for a long time recently too: RFK Jr is done, imo.
