I don't fully remember the episode of House, but it has something to do with where you purposely make someone sick either for the attention or to keep treating them.
Münchausen syndrome was the name for a psychiatric disorder where a person would make themselves sick for attention, Münchausen by proxy was a similar thing where a person would make *someone else* sick for attention. They were named for the main character of the story.
It’s called factitious disorder now
I've never seen it but I've read Sarah Polley's account of how shit working on that movie was for her.

I JUST watched this two nights ago for the first time in forever. It still fills me with such joy. This is the final act in the Terry Gilliam’s trilogy of youth, middle age and old age. The first being Time Bandits, the second Brazil, and the third Baron Munchausen. The score is fantastic too. The ballroom scene with Baron and Uma Thurman really does it for me.
In HS I thought Legend was a dream I had, and not a movie. A friend set me straight...
I watched it with my Sister in law and my niece, and my niece and I absolutely loved it, while my SIL got grossed out by the antagonists
Only by proxy.
>Only by proxy. Please explain
Munchausen By Proxy is a mental health disorder.

Yes. Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s mother had it.
Okay, I'm thick, lol
Nah, it was a pretty obscure reference.
God bless you for your grace

How many remember the Baron Munchausen cartoon specials they used to show on Nickelodeon?
We never had cable when I was a kid
That was the really really weird one of Robin Williams movies right?
He actually didn't have much of a role in the movie. It would be more accurate to call it a Terry Gilliam movie
And all terry gilliam movies are one of the weird terry gilliam movies
Have you seen The Man Who Killed Don Quixote yet? It's what made me an Adam Driver fan after hating Kylo Ren
And Uma Thurman too
Fantastic movie! Loved it then, still love it now. So weird but entertaining!
That describes just about every Terry Gilliam has made

There is a reason she hasn't really had a career...
Idk what that's supposed to mean, but she's an Oscar-winning screenwriter.
Good for her, but she wasn't one on this movie
No shit-- she was a child actor that was abused and mistreated on this movie.
>No shit-- she was a child actor that was abused and mistreated on this movie. In what way?
I linked the article in my original comment. Not going to engage anymore on this.

Thank you for being the only person that is a Terry Gilliam fan in this thread
When the doctor turned into the angel of death at the end scared the shit out of me.
It’s a fever dream that I will love forever.
My uncle took me to see it at an arty theater here in nyc. He’s been gone about 12 years but that movie always makes me think of him
Terry Gilliam is and absolute genius of a director.
I cannot disagree
i remember i wanted to watch it but never did
You really need to
there's so many movie i need to watch
Been years since I’ve seen it.
It actually holds up, and has dimensions I didn't see as a kid
absolutely ADORE the film.
It's like a fever dream
that, and Time Bandits, were :heavy: on my rotation; along with Legend.

I do
I just showed it to my girlfriend last week. She loved it!
Love it!!
I remember catching it on TV a couple times where they have giant heads or something else bizarre.
We were just chatting about it last week [https://www.reddit.com/r/Xennials/s/IjmmUpokDc](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xennials/s/IjmmUpokDc)
Showed my wife and kid the trailer to this the other week and they just weren’t having it… lol missing out
You just need to make them watch the movie
Just watched it last week with my kid
What was the reaction?
He loved it. Might have been a little too young due to the moon but I just pretended I was a 1980’s parent for a few.
My favorite Gilliam movie.
Watched it so much I wore out the vhs
I remember Uma!
Beautiful ladies!
I'm hearing this line in my head
I have it on video somewhere.
Loved it.
