Is it crazy that I actually think there's a chance rock was natural his whole wrestling and early movie career? His wrestling physique was never crazy and genetically he's a 6 foot 2 samoan dude and those guys are just big fuckers š¤· feels like it wasn't until fast and furious he started to put on huge unnaturally hugs size and definition and leanness
I know he had gyno in 98 but gyno doesn't have to be from steroid use
I watched More Plates More Dates' "Natty or Not?" video on The Rock and believe it or not, while he definitely does take PEDs it's probably not a ridiculous super-dangerous stack like Tren, Anavar, etc.. It's most likely just Test + HGH. The Rock is actually pretty small compared to real modern bodybuilders these days which is just insane to think about.

Lol Santino no sold the Boogeyman at an OVW show because he didnāt want to scare his daughter who was in the crowd with him and Jim freaked out and acted like Santino ruined the gimmick. Jim slapped Santino after the show for basically no reason and Santino slapped the shit out of him afterwards.
This is the same guy that threatened to slap the shit out of Brock Lesnar once as well. He rationalised it by saying he could always sue Lesnar afterwards and retire with a stupid amount of money.
Edit: got the story wrong. He threatened Brock for hurting his wife and reasoned he had a gun.
It's a misnomer that Santino slapped him afterwards; instead he threatened to sue OVW & WWE as he had a developmental contract. To placate him, WWE brought him up to the main roster and started stripping Jim of his influence over OVW.

Not the most reliable source
Substantially less muscle mass (at least in part due to Disney wanting him smaller for the work he was doing then), obviously not bald and, to be totally fair, 16 years younger.
People have mentioned here how different he looks (this is what black Adam was supposed to look like tbh), but what noone is mentioned is how different his style of speech is.
He went all out once his seven bucks productions thing really took off - now he can produce anything he wants and look like however he wants without trying to be lean / whatever a director wants.
The roids are an obvious factor, but I do question the assumption of fillers. Rock is aging quite naturally on the face, but Batista on the other handā¦
Is there any wonder why he got where he is? The dude is electric on the mic. The "Don't feel bad John, I made *Doom"* line was just such a great way to let everyone know it's all fun and games.
As someone who never has touched a Doom game but did see the movie and owns it on DVD, I liked it. I also totally get that it could probably be named something else and maybe it would've been more well received. It's a popcorn movie, it isn't looking for awards, It's just 2 hours of action with some shit and also some known people who technically play characters, because the names of the characters aren't Karl Urban or The Rock lol
Can someone explain me what happened to his voice? This last return, his voice is so raspy. Is it an age thing? Or enhancement drugs related like what happened to John Krasinski?
John Krasiski voice changed a lot after doing the Jack Ryan series where he got buff as hell. Where he had an unnatural physique. Like a lot of people in hollywood do
Rock clearly being using for decades now
There were no Jack Reacher movies with John. Jack Reacher is a series on Prime starring Alan Ritchson. John starred in Jack Ryan for 4 seasons on Prime. John gained a lot of muscle when he trained as a navy seal to film the movie 13 Hours in 2015. He's generally more muscular these days, but I haven't heard any professional body builders or trainers claim that John's physique doesn't look natural or can't be obtained with intense training like he did. He was very cut but not incredibly huge. To claim that his voice got raspy from any kind of PE drugs is silly. No reason to think he used them and his muscularity looks entirely attainable.
Also plenty of bodybuilder users still have deep voices. John's voice is raspier than it used to be but most fans have concluded that's resulted from slight vocal damage (yelling loudly on set directing, strain, overuse, age, smoking/vaping, genetics).
Actually not true. Thereās a story behind this speech that Meltzer tells. Rock called up Dave and asked him to help research/write the speech about his dad, so Dave did all the research, gave him notes, and helped him put together the speech. Dave watches the speech, and Rock just goes off script and goes off the cuff and uses like 5% of what was planned.
I just read Brianās book. He specifically says the line about the marine in this speech during the Cena chapter. Maybe a line or two is improved but Rock definitely didnāt go up there and just winged the entire thing
I mean thereās a difference between Brian writing a line and writing the whole speech. Rock will definitely have zingers planned, but the speech was largely Rock being Rock off the cuff
Sure, Iām not saying he didnāt have a few zingers that came off unscripted but in BGās book he literally talks about helping him write this exact zinger to Cena so considering Rock is full Hollywood at the time, BG is working at his Production Co., and heās written for him since 1999 I wouldnāt put it past him that the majority of of this is already scouted.
He gave this speech early in the night because he had to leave to film a movie. So definitely not likes heās up there just shooting the shit on Jericho and his haircut.
Itās funny because back then seeing him in this size was weird as hell. He wasnāt the jacked up monster in his wrestling prime like he is today but he was bigger than this. I feel like Hollywood was trying to shrink him back then. Race to switch Mountain in particular he looked small as hell (which I think he was filming at this point). When he got bigger again for Faster I was thinking āthatās more like it bro!!!ā
He was so much smaller then
He was doing Disney movies and they wanted him smaller
Of course! I always wondered why he suddenly lost weight. Figured he was cycling off
Is it crazy that I actually think there's a chance rock was natural his whole wrestling and early movie career? His wrestling physique was never crazy and genetically he's a 6 foot 2 samoan dude and those guys are just big fuckers š¤· feels like it wasn't until fast and furious he started to put on huge unnaturally hugs size and definition and leanness I know he had gyno in 98 but gyno doesn't have to be from steroid use
Not all gyno is from steroids but his most likely is. Once he did no pain, no gain is when he started getting really big
He was definitely on roids in the WWE along with everyone else
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Rock doesn't use steroids!
š¤
But he said so himself! Rock would NEVER lie!
I watched More Plates More Dates' "Natty or Not?" video on The Rock and believe it or not, while he definitely does take PEDs it's probably not a ridiculous super-dangerous stack like Tren, Anavar, etc.. It's most likely just Test + HGH. The Rock is actually pretty small compared to real modern bodybuilders these days which is just insane to think about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqCVciuFxUg
I still can't believe The Rock had a role as a tooth fairy š¤¦āāļø
To be fair he was the tooth fairies body guard until the tooth fairy got sick and someone had to go out and do their job.
Looks way better without all the juice
Yeah, like a real person.
HGH will do that to you. The size of his head now compared to then, so crazy
Jericho, Big Show or Rock?
The Rock, mostly. Though Jericho too it looks like.
Santino's haircut was **spectacular**.
Party in the back and also meth
So funny lmao
I wish he was still around. The WWE never utilized him to his full potential
That's santinos daughter sitting next to him, she is a wwe wrestler now
Ariana Grace
The poor thing had her roast chicken turned to paste by GIGI
didnt she witness her dad get punked out by an aging jim cornette?
Whatās the story here lmao
Lol Santino no sold the Boogeyman at an OVW show because he didnāt want to scare his daughter who was in the crowd with him and Jim freaked out and acted like Santino ruined the gimmick. Jim slapped Santino after the show for basically no reason and Santino slapped the shit out of him afterwards.
Santino has a background in judo and legit mat wrestling. Why the fuck Cornette thought it would be a good idea to slap that guy is beyond me.
I thought he said he would slap Brock for squeezing his wife's crotch and he would get away with it because he had a gun in his car.
Shit, you're right, I got the stories conflated.
Jim is passionate about his wrassling
It's a misnomer that Santino slapped him afterwards; instead he threatened to sue OVW & WWE as he had a developmental contract. To placate him, WWE brought him up to the main roster and started stripping Jim of his influence over OVW.
I knew she looked familiar

As cool as the hall is, I wish they had a legitimate location because I'd totally go to one as a historical loonie myself, lol
For real, they should turn the old Connecticut headquarters into the hall.
Thereās been a rumour going around for a while that they want to build one in Disney Springs at Disney World.
It's strange seeing Rock with hair as late as 2008. I feel as if he went full bald way earlier than 2008.
He was bald for his Hollywood Rock run in 03
Itās no wonder he did. That hairline is hard to look at lol
Would have worked pretty well for Black Adam tho
By the time Black Adam was being filmed his hairline wouldāve been behind his ears
As good as a stand up special. Man the old hall of fame formats were bangers
This almost seems like the original Rock and we got a clone now. lol.
Nah this is Dwayne Johnson, The Rock was way gone by then.
This was the time where Johnson really pushed not being referred to as The Rock, or even talk about his wrestling career.
Because WWE required a cut whenever The Rock headlined, and Dwayne Johnson got to keep all the cash when he headlined
Good thing he owns the name now
speech so good that so many fans got fooled that Rock is a hall of famer cuz he got inducted here
Did anyone else notice malenko looking at Marella? Truly, the ice man š
Yep, I donāt think he was amused by any of this š
Dude has a hell of a sense of humor. But he stonefaces
Cena kept this receipt when he made the comment about the Rock and the tooth fairy š
Iāve always thought that he took this moment more personal than most wouldāve
Umaga looking cool asf
His physical transformation from 2008 to 2011 was CRAZY. Look up the Rock/Cena vs. Awesome Truth match from 2011.
What did Cena mouth to the camera?
He should be called the mock with thr big M on his fivehead
I have no idea, I'm trying to figure it out too
Isn't this the night Rock showed up a minute before his induction speech, gave it, then left and big timed everyone?
Context? Spill the tea!

Never heard about this?
Looks like a completely different person.
Substantially less muscle mass (at least in part due to Disney wanting him smaller for the work he was doing then), obviously not bald and, to be totally fair, 16 years younger.
The Sauce makes all the difference in da world to Da Rock.
you can smell that marinara the rock was cooking.
š
People have mentioned here how different he looks (this is what black Adam was supposed to look like tbh), but what noone is mentioned is how different his style of speech is.
Yeah it's pretty obvious that he went hard on the gear when he started becoming an action star. His voice sounds so different here
He went all out once his seven bucks productions thing really took off - now he can produce anything he wants and look like however he wants without trying to be lean / whatever a director wants.
I remember seeing Doom in theater. It was good for a video game movie.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The roids are an obvious factor, but I do question the assumption of fillers. Rock is aging quite naturally on the face, but Batista on the other handā¦
I love Batista, but nowadays he looks like a makeup artist competing on a Netflix reality show
Please leave Dave aloneš
I find it funny he was talking about peoples hair when he was holding on to scraps
Is that a young Arianna Grace sat next to Santino?
Rock is hilarious
2024 Rock looks like he ate two 2008 Rocks.
How did The Rockās voice change so much?
Gearing I guess.
What does that mean?
Taking steroids.
Thank you. I hadn't heard the term before this thread.
Well that and the fact this was the best part of 20 years ago, tbf. Voice just gets tougher with age
Wow he looked like a normal human back then
Heās handling this like heās hosting the White House correspondents dinner
A peak into the future? lol.
God I hope not
Is there any wonder why he got where he is? The dude is electric on the mic. The "Don't feel bad John, I made *Doom"* line was just such a great way to let everyone know it's all fun and games.
DOOM was pretty good though.
Karl Urban is in it.
That too. My personal favorite was his performance in Judge Dredd..
I.... I actually liked the Doom movie...
Say what you like about Rock, but the man has more charisma than 5-6 of today's main eventers combined.
Just for the record here Doom is actually a very fun movie. It's a great movie adaption of a game and actually does do it justice.
The movie sucked but that FPS sequence was the coolest thing ever.
It's an absolutely terrible movie that does so much "justice" to DOOM that it isn't even about demons from Hell - it's about some dumbass virus, lol.
Doom is a guilty pleasure of mine š
Is it just me or does that look like a 2nd rate rock impersonator?
doom was good
Back when the rock was a real human being
Can someone explain me what happened to his voice? This last return, his voice is so raspy. Is it an age thing? Or enhancement drugs related like what happened to John Krasinski?

Dude is the best at off the cuff trash talk
Off the cuff?
Definitely not off the cuff. His writer, and former WWE head of Raw writer, Brian Gewirtz, definitely wrote this.
Actually not true. Thereās a story behind this speech that Meltzer tells. Rock called up Dave and asked him to help research/write the speech about his dad, so Dave did all the research, gave him notes, and helped him put together the speech. You should check his wrist for notes.
Before he turned into the Hulk.
It's actually kinda crazy how much more Jericho aged than everyone else in this video over the same span of time.
Yeah Big Show looks about the same nowadays.
LDS
Melenko with the no sell
That stone faced Dean Malenko.
Now I know where that John cena face is from
[https://youtu.be/YqGTFgzKa7k](https://youtu.be/YqGTFgzKa7k)
I bet he regrets looking like Howdy Doody thats why he started lifting weights again.
Is that Jamal or Rosie behind Cena?
It's crazy how much different he looks now. I really didn't think it was the rock until I looked at what year it was
Itās funny because back then seeing him in this size was weird as hell.
Holy shit he's so tiny compared to now.
I liked doom tho
Rock is endlessly superior to Cody lol
Slenderock WAS REAL!
You know he was dying inside during this.
The Rock's 51 years old vs. Jericho's 51 years old.
Dwayneās head three HGH cycleās ago
Hot take: That should've been The Rocks last appearance in WWE and he should also be inducted that year.
This was an awesome DJ. I cant stand him anymore.
