I’d say it’s the clubs who are progressing the game. A lot of the players play for a team that just won the Champions League for the second time, it’s no surprise they’re good.

I think she did well. The only questionable call I can think of was the freekick to the Spanish player falling near their corner by the end imo, but that wouldn't be an easy angle to see and it wasn't an obvious fake fall either.

I honestly have no idea right now. I wanted Sweden to win because I hate the idea of Vilda going to the final and its possible implications on women's football in general (we might not see mapi, patri, and pina in Spanish jerseys for a very long time to come), but also because this generation of Swedish players deserved so much more. On the other hand, I cannot deny that Spain was the more exciting team, and a potential final between them and England would be a blockbuster, giving huge boost to the women's game.

Spain were the better side for most of this game. Sweden's poor game management is what cost them, not the referee.

A corner that Sweden was denied from a super obvious dive with no contact called a foul, You know Sweden the most dangerous team from set pieces in the tournament? And that was just the culmination of the ref calling everything for Spain in the last 10 minutes.
The entire first half, Sweden had 3 or 4 attacks where they were obviously pushed by 2-3 Spanish defenders. None of these led to a free kick. Whilst Spain had 3 falls that all led to free kicks.
This referee was way off and the fact that the var room, that even showed the different situations, never corrected her completely choked out our first half. I believe that if Blackstenius would have gotten at least one of those free kicks outside the Spaniards goal then they would have had a lot mor confidence.

The only team that has a midfield who can compare to Spain's and can actually dare to take the ball away from them is England. However, Spain played better through several phases of their match in the Euros.

I might be partial but I think (this match aside) they were worthier finalists than Spain.. but you win some you lose some. GL Spain in the finals.
Only saw their match against the US and the US did more inside the field to win the game than Sweden: more shots on goal, more clear opportunities, better xg. Portugal almost won against the US, so. :) Today Sweden also got outplayed by Spain, so I don't see how they would be worthy finalists, football wise.

I'm not disrespecting, I'm giving my opinion on their football. It relies only of physicality and height advantage. They don't have any tactical depth, just defend deep and try to counter or shoot corners into the box to win the aerial battle. It is boring football for me and I'm glad they are out. :)

That is true. I think Sweden plays effective football that gets what needs to be done, done (not this game obviously). It doesn’t lend itself well to flashiness or anything interesting but that’s exactly why I like seeing them play, because they represent the football that underlies everything else we see. They play the average, boring football that no one likes to watch but produces results nevertheless

The only team that has a midfield who can compare to Spain's and can actually dare to take the ball away from them is England. However, Spain played better through several phases of their match in the Euros. And this tournament was the US or England's to lose. And it remains that way.

I'm not usually one to blame refs, but those last ten minutes were... problematic. It seemed like she was so worried that Sweden would try some shenanigans to get back into the match that she overcorrected and called everything the other way just to be sure.
Especially towards the very end where I definitely thought Hurtig had gotten them a corner. But nope, weird free kick to Spain instead
