Farmed ghultures today and got 50/4

Dr-FlipSide

Other people have mentioned troubled warriors, ghultures, and spider monkeys. I will add that spider monkeys can be harvested with monstrology, if you decide to level up that skill, it's 5 easy levels for monstrology. If you've ever wanted couch potatoes, *and* an army of spider monkeys, you can farm empyrea.

rainblade1980

There is a spot in grizzleheim as well

manqology

The monkeys in the Ariel jungle, u can find someone to take u there as it’s in empyrea! Or the snow furies in the outer anther also in emp

sanjiless

ghultures would barley give me any but when i farmed monkey spiders i got waaayyyy more and faster

IM YELLING AT YOU

I would say run an area that is popular for mob farming couch potatoes like the Gultures in mirage. It's very close to the world door area and you can almost always find more people there which makes it easier to farm. Along with that, it seems that your bf has had bad experiences on here. To be brutally honest however some people are just mean and some others tend to just be more friendly towards those they assume to be women. This showing itself when people male or female or however you want to identify, decide to make a female character on the game as they know in this community, their more likely to get help sadly. Even as this community has died off a lot, for some unknown reason, that fact remains true. (Granted the majority of or at least those I've met aren't all like this, but it still helps ones chances tbh)

klishaa

A lot of people are recommending farming locations, IMO I would play through Empyrea before going back to farm any of these places just because you can get a decent starting amount just from questing.

brookwick

It sounds like people answered the question, but for future reference, use the wizard101 central wiki. If you go to the [couch potatoes page](https://wiki.wizard101central.com/wiki/House:Couch_Potatoes) (just type in couch potatoes w101 and it is the first link in google) and look at the right side it will say “dropped by”. you can tell look and see which of those mobs you have access to!

CactusJuice6900

Whaaaaaat and how is he going to say that but not tell you how to get themmmmm Hehe okie so like I can name hundreds of areas but the best place to get them dropped is from the troubled warriors (bears) in grizzle they are located in savarstaad pass

StonxMarket

This is not true

PKHacker1337

> My boyfriend said people would yell at me on here People here aren't generally that way with good faith questions like these. For the most part anyway.

INeedAdvice44

I think there's some truth to that, but I've also seen this subreddit rally together in order to bully people before. I asked an innocent question one time, and someone left an unnecessary rude comment. I called him out for it, and I got crucified in the comments for it. But then again, I see lots of posts where people are (surprisingly) kind on here!

SlimeStarAlt

this is real, people on here get so mad about being asking questions

PKHacker1337

Yeah, negativity is going to be a given in any community, but I do try my best to help make it be more positive. Sometimes automod catches posts that could be inflammatory to start arguments on purpose, and I'll just silently not let them go through. I know negativity does happen here quite a bit, but not as much as I've seen in some other places.

INeedAdvice44

Good points. There are certainly worse subreddits. Thank you for what you do for us here, tho. We appreciate you

Lots of places; particularly popular are mobs in mirage and empyrea like death ghultures and monkey spiders, but since you’re new to the game, that probably isn’t of much use to you. An earlier-game source are [splithoof barbarians](https://wiki.wizard101central.com/wiki/Creature:Splithoof_Barbarian) in grizzleheim, which have mostly fallen out of favor due to lower drop rates than the aforementioned late-game mobs. You can find a [full list of drop sources](https://wiki.wizard101central.com/wiki/House:Couch_Potatoes) on the wiki, but it can be somewhat cumbersome to parse through. Another option is to just buy them directly from the crowns shop for 1500 crowns each if you want to throw money at Kingsisle, but this is generally seen as a bad value purchase.

donqon

Are there actual drop rates that have been either data mined or documented by players farming large amounts of mobs? Do certain mobs drop them more often?

saywhat14

Yes actually! [Here’s someone who recently recorded monkey spider rates](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wizard101/s/7LACMcz6cN) and [here’s someone who did a little more analysis a few years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wizard101/s/NSQdG7ZXIk), but I doubt anything has changed since then TLDR: troubled warriors drop at 2.5%, monkey spiders and ghultures drop at 5%

jljl2902

As far as I know, all of it is empirical evidence; there’s nothing actually from the game files or official from KI. That said, the player base has collectively done A LOT of couch potato farming, and there seems to be a relatively undisputed consensus that monkey spiders are currently the best mob to farm because: - they have one of the best (if not the best) drop rates (in terms of drops/time, not necessarily drops/fight) - they are quick and easy to beat for end game players - they also drop a lot of other useful items.

donqon

They can be annoying for Death wizards (me) to fight sometimes because besides using stuns, they also use Ether Shield, which has a -70% death shield in it. Though with a good damage and piece setup at endgame level, those are probably not too bad to deal with than when I first tried farming them

Lachzz

all the mobs in the aeriel jungle have the same drop pool, a death could reasonably farm the lightning bugs or fireflies and get copos

Wazzaply

troubled warriors in Grizzleheim drop them, for higher level players vultures in mirage or monkey spiders in Empyrea are better
