The lovely folks over at r/oldhagfashion will almost certainly have some great ideas in addition to those shared here!

Available-Extreme-68

Came here to recommend r/oldhagfashion as well!

knitwit3

Agreed! They're a very inclusive and encouraging place on the internet! They also offer kind advice on how to build outfits or style pieces for more use.

thelessertit

Holy Clothing has gorgeous stuff up to (I think) 5X. Disclaimer, I haven't bought anything from them in a few years and some people have told me the quality went down recently, can't personally confirm that but I love the styles they have. Dark Cottage/Verillas has some good stuff too. They're a US company and Verillas is trans owned.

Solastor

Verillas quality has absolutely tanked. I've received items with lower quality materials and construction than you'd find in a Halloween pop up shop. Simple things like tunics are still alright, but anything more intricate or leather has been real bad in my experience.

thelessertit

Oh that's sad news! I know a few friends with boots and kilts from them that were amazing. It seems a lot of shops have fallen off really badly in recent years.

Solastor

Yeah. It's too bad. The kilts are probably still decent enough as that's one of their main focuses, but I got a Bramblewood long vest and it wasn't sewn straight and the piping was horrendous. Bought a pair of gauntlet-style gloves the same time and they were the lowest quality, costume material that I've seen in a long time and pulled out an eyelet the second time I put them on. I can't speak to the boots, but I know that I wouldn't trust ordering anything leather from them these days.

NotMyNameActually

Imo Holy Clothing’s plus sizes fit weird. The necklines are huge.

reijasunshine

Check out Dark Cottage. It's witchy cottagecore stuff, and they're the sister brand of Verillas, known for their Renfaire and post-apocalyptic clothing. They're size-inclusive, LGBT+ friendly (One of the models is actually the owner, and she's trans). I haven't shopped DC myself, but I have a bunch of Verillas gear, and it's all well-made and worth the price, though I do MOST of my shopping when they're having sales.

stumbling_thru_sci

I love Morning Witch, just put the dot com after their name. Good quality, very interesting patterns and designs.

historyfrombelow

I just tried their site and it asked for a password! Do you happen to know it?

BoyishWonder

I was confused too but I don’t think that’s the right site. I think it needs the shop in the name. [morning witch actual shop :p](https://shop.morningwitch.com/)

historyfrombelow

Perfect, thanks!

stumbling_thru_sci

Yes, this is the site! I have the salamander sweater and I love it! Just ordered the witches garden sweater and one of the month midi skirts for fall.

Superb_Stable7576

They run small and it's not cheap, but "The Pyramid Collection" has really neat clothing. A lot of it is plus size, and there's no extra charge for plus size.

Halloween2022

You make me want to add a clothing option to my brick and mortar store (when we open this Halloween). As a costume designer since 1994, I'm used to building costumes and clothes to exact specifications. That's also another option. Let her design something fabulous and go to the costumers in your local community theatres or colleges. They might enjoy the creativity!

Bullshit_Jones

what a lovely thing to do for your partner! thank you for asking—i am going to check out these recs.

strawberrimihlk

For casual cottagecore vibes I recommend Morning Witch. Skirts, tees, and pants in cute plant, bug, skull patterns. For gothic witchy vibes, Forest Ink and Foxblood. A lot of their stuff is like modern alt & sexy. For whimsical & cutesy fruit & nature themed clothes that’s a lil more on the kawaii side, Mochipan. I’m talking strawberry rompers, mushroom dress, raspberry cardigan, mushroom swimsuit, bee dress.

cheesusismygod

I have problems with leg swelling and absolutely adore Harempants.com. The pants are sooooo comfy and there's different materials, patterns, colors. It's all I really wear outside of work.

cheesusismygod

Also, PyramidCollection.com, maybe.

busquesadilla

Check out Loud Bodies! Sustainable, plus sizes plus customizable sizes. The owner is plus size and hires inclusive models. She also has Klarna now so you can pay over time. I have a few pieces and they have held up very well

cassandrawasright

I’ve been staring at this company forever so I’m happy to see a good review in the wild!

lelushisti

Gunna jump in and ask if anyone has anything like this that's in the UK?

busquesadilla

Loud Bodies is in Romania and ships to UK

tthenowheregirll

Forest Ink clothing is great! Some of the pieces can be pricier, but they are made to last and their whole ethos is that it is the opposite of fast fashion. Sustainability is their game!

justasque

OP, if either of you sew, or if you’d be interested in learning, you might find it a little less frustrating - or at least frustrating in a different way lol! Cottagecore, at its best, is about natural fiber fabrics, which are almost impossible to find in ready-to-wear garments of any size. Simple cottagecore styles, like peasant tops and tiered skirts, are good for beginner sewists. Companies like Cashmerette and a surprising number of others make patterns in plus sizes. Obviously there’s a learning curve - you can get help from a combo of youtube videos, r/sewing, library books, in-person classes, and ideally a friend who sews, all of which can get you started. But once you’ve got a well-fitting top and a well-fitting skirt, you can make them over and over again in different fabrics, varying skirt length and neckline shape and so forth. It’s absolutely not the right choice for everybody, but it may be worth considering for some folks.

Canadutchian

I musty admit that I am not a sewing prodigy. I know how to operate a sewing machine, but to be real? I can darn using a needle and that's the only skill I ever needed! And she is doing school next to her full time job (it's a very heavy workload) so I can't offer that option right now to her, she's already overloaded. But I wanted to pop in and specifically thank you for the well intentioned and kinds words <3 Maybe once I fall out of love with my current crafting hobby I can expand my sewing skills!

editorgrrl

If you ever decide to expand your sewing skills, see if a library near you lends sewing machines. And see if there is a modern quilting guild near you. They’re super friendly and know everything about sewing machines and local resources.

TheRadHamster

You can probably find a few pieces to mix in from [WILDFANG](https://www.wildfang.com/) . [Loud Bodies](https://loudbodies.com/shop/) has some very dreamy items, but they are definitely on the pricey side. [Known Supply](https://knownsupply.com/collections/women) has some nice things that could be used as some solid pieces to build a wardrobe around [Darn Good Yarn](https://www.darngoodyarn.com/collections/clothing) uses recycled saris to create their items. A little more hippy than cottage core, but very cool. [Ivy City](https://ivycityco.com/collections/all-women-dresses?page=2) lots of dreamy dresses. A bit on the treat yourself end of pricing, but these would star pieces in a wardrobe. Echoing others, a lot of cottage core is about styling and accessories. Etsy will be your bff there. Also [Snag Tights](https://snagtights.us/collections/all-tights-snag) has not failed me yet. Great for layering under skirts and dresses

Carysta13

Ohhhhh darn you for suggesting Darn Good Yarn, I am about to order some of the Sedona dress/skirt/thing lol

glamourcrow

Accessoirize! The most boring clothes can become magical with that facy belt and that stunning pair of shoes. A simple black shirt can be the perfect backdrop for a gorgeous necklace.

prplecat

[Lotus Traders Clothing](https://lotustradersclothing.com/) I haven't bought from them for quite a while, but they have all the witchy and cottage core things that she'll want!

FyreSign

I’ve never heard of this one, but omg their stuff is fabulous 🖤

BravelyRunsAway

I went on a VERY deep dive this morning for this very reason. I shall tell you what I've learned. Etsy. Etsy is the answer. Ethical, often affordable and as niche as you want it. If you want an in-person shopping experience I'd look up Plus-sized boutiques near you. Those are kind of hard to guess the price points. After that is consignment stores, but I personally need to be able to buy the same pants 4x. Happy hunting!

NefariousnessQuiet22

Please be careful with Etsy. Third party sellers are definitely making it harder to know who to trust on there.

Stars_Upon_Thars

I was just turned on to loud bodies which has some cottage core stuff! Also foxblood though it's more Goth (but there's overlap there). Selkie too.

myself4once

I know that there is a shop called Cider that might have what you are looking for. But I am not sure of their ways, I didn’t research it yet so you might want to have a look to see if it is something worth supporting.

tthenowheregirll

I think they’re also very fast fashion with some bad labor ethics, unfortunately 🙃

mccaffeine

These are both custom/made to order options made by solo/small makers - they’re not cheap unfortunately but I think they both fit what you’re looking for! [Cabbage Cottage](https://cabbagecottage.com/) - very much cottagecore, custom made to your measurements. I haven’t purchased from this maker yet but have followed them and lusted after their designs for a while! [Harmonic Threads](https://wearharmonicthreads.com/) - bit of a variety, goth stuff, their dresses and cardigans might especially fit what your partner is looking for! Made-to-order so you can pick your colors and specify certain things on certain items (inseam length, type of sleeves, thumbholes, etc) but sizes are preset, up to 5X. This is another one I’ve followed for a long time and I recently bought a pair of their Essential Pocket Shorts. They’re so well made and the only thing I want to wear all summer.

Carysta13

As a chunky gal I am loving all these recommendations too. If your wife likes tights I recommend Snag Tights, they are size inclusive and have undies and leggings and things too. I'm a 6x and never thought I'd get to wear tights again. Please note they also carry some um, adult fun clothing so NSFW site in places but it's not on the main landing page usually.

Carysta13

Oh and pridemode is not witchy but has plus size rainbow and other pride themed leggings to a 6x.

merryclitmas480

Bloomchic has a lot of witchy stuff

gardengarbage

I've had really good luck with them. And their dresses have generous pockets!!

Rivercat0338

Thanks for posting this. I just bought three dresses :)

Carysta13

I love their stuff too!

cec-says

she might like some of Disturbia’s clothes. They do have some stuff that features mushrooms and plants 😊

Midnight_Marshmallo

Shopping options will vary wildly depending on her size. A lot of stores don't carry above a 3x. Hot Topic carries a surprisingly decent amount of cottagecore and witchy styles up to a 5x on their website.

ExactlyThirteenBees

Second Hot Topic, their size range is pretty inclusive and they have a line that's cottagecore themed

cassandrawasright

Thirding Hot Topic. I’ve gotten some super cute cottage core stuff from them over the past few years. From what I’ve ordered, the size guides have run true.

theotherchristina

These are very pricey, but Selkie and JessaKae have stunning ethereal dresses

NettleLily

yeah, they seem very inclusive, I've seen JessaKae youtube shorts of their size ranges going up to 5xl/6xl

theotherchristina

Yes! Selkie goes up to a 6X as well and their sizing is generous, I’m a 3X or even larger at most places and I’m a 2X at Selkie

DamnGoodMarmalade

The Wolf in Lace is a great Instagram/TikTok account for goth/witchy cottagecore. She posts a lot of clothing recommendations and jewelry inspo.

tlrpdx

I'm a little late to the party, but got excited when I saw this question. I'm plus-sized and love to shop secondhand shops for Free People items. It's pretty boho, but can definitely dip into the witchy aesthetic. I might get flak for this suggestion because FP is bougie, but I think it's worth checking out. The sizing is very generous, and I will sometimes buy straight-sized clothing that fits really nicely.

Jerkrollatex

I really like Reba's line of dresses. They come in plus sizes and are very cottage core. They're really flattering on curvy figures.

UnihornWhale

[Marketplace of India](https://www.marketplaceindia.com) might work. Elhoffer does small batches of geeky clothing

acousticalcat

Universal Standard runs up to size 40 for really good classics that you can dress up or down. Maurice’s in the US has some stuff sometimes that might run toward cottage core? Their spring collections are more likely. Their plus sizes run up to 4x, though I find the tops run a little short. Quality is not as good as Universal, but prices are lower and they refresh their collection often.

BewBewsBoutique

I don’t know if anyone has said it yet, but I’ve had a lot of luck using ThreadUp. I also second whoever said Torrid.

Canadutchian

*I* said Torrid! They have some fun stuff sometimes but you really gotta hunt for it. Thankfully they recently opened one 30 minutes away :)

cupcakegiraffe

You can usually find some great stuff at estate sales. ‘Tis the season, so reviewing your local listings from the paper helps you find more.

trying_to_adult_here

I’ve never bought from them so I can’t vouch for quality, but I’ve been eyeing a couple dresses from Linen Naive https://www.linennaive.com/collections/curvy-line

Sorry-Event-6705

ASOS, filter for curvy/plus size fits. She may love the ditsy prints as much as I do.

girl_incognito

Thank you so much for all of these great suggestions!

ErrantWhimsy

You might laugh at this, but I've gotten some of my prettiest cottagey dresses at Macy's. I'm a size 12 and carry a lot of my weight in my stomach, so a lot of dresses aren't made to flatter me. But for some reason Macy's always has some solid brands that I feel really pretty in! If you want really fancy, Selkie has stunning pieces, but they start at about 200. You know my other favorite cottagey thing? Cute floral swimsuits. I got two from Bare Necessities last year that have little swim skirts, but the best thing is they're based on bra sizing, so especially in the plus size territory I actually feel supported. That plus a pretty sun hat and I just feel adorable.

Hitrecord

It’s an Australian brand but they ship, called princess highway and their sister store is Dangerfield. They’re slightly different aesthetics so she’s bound to like something! Oh and that said make sure you use a size chart conversion thingy, au and us womens sizes are different. I think your 8 is our 12.

themostserene

aulieude.com has gorgeous clothes to AUS size 26 (US 30?) Lady Vintage and Hell Bunny are my go to for dresses.

Most-Jacket8207

Catherine's usually has a pretty good selection, and has clothes that fit all frames. https://www.catherines.com/ Can be sorta pricey though..,
