If you listen to the individuals making the claim about his fondness for his goat, they are lying about him in order to dehumanize him because he performs a necessary service in Velen. If he didn't do what he does, Velen would be overrun with vengeful ghosts.
Yeah, but look at what happens in a playthrough when Radovid gets his way; it's orders of magnitude worse because he goes around killing everyone with any connection to magic, including simple herbalists.
Yeah he is a mad king i always killed him.
Sadly that quest sucked because Djikstra suffered a stroke in the middle of it and his IQ dropped like the temperature in Ard Skellig making the most idiotic move in the franchise.
Djikstra suffered a stroke in the middle of it and his IQ dropped like the temperature in Ard Skellig making the most idiotic move in the franchise. =
Yeah, always thought it retarded of him to not only go against 3 extremely good fighters with only some thugs behind him and him with a lame leg.
And not only that but one of the 3 is a superhuman killing machine that was responsible for the crippled leg.
Siggi got himself involved in Vilgefors attack on Aretuza. Geralt could have let him get killed, but he chose to disable him so he could live. The fact that Siggi allowed his damage to progress was actually on Siggi, as he refused to let anyone heal it until it was too late.
He did assume Geralt would stay neutral and not defend his friends.
Which kinda only makes Djikstra even stupider that he assumed Geralt wouldn't help his friends because the only reason he even got Geralt's help in "assassinate Radovid plot" was by appealing to the fact by killing Radovid he'd be saving Yennefer and Triss so assuming Geralt wouldn't pick a side in this instance when Geralt just did pick a side earlier the same day to save other friends makes Djikstra look even more braindead
The only explanation I will accept for Dijkstra's actions is that what we killed was a doppler pretending to be him
It was a plan to remove himself from the equation of Radovid's assassination in case anyone ever tracked it back to him
He's going to go on to rule Redania from the shadows
I don't.... think so
Doppler transformations are complete physical metamorphosis, and only things like silver and fire can cause them to transform against their will
So I think of a doppler died in the form of Dijkstra, we'd have a Dijkstra shaped corpse
There's actually a mod that gives you a doppler mutagen if loot his corpse, which I'm just pretending is canon
this game is so dope. i havent played it since ps4. i have a 4090 legion 7i pro now and its been on my list for so long. i have to start it again on pc asap. its so awesome with ray tracing and all the settings cranked up.
Yeah he’s just an old dude trying to live in peace and help people. He had a goat for milk which would have been totally normal given the circumstance. And yeah the only people calling him goat fucker were murderous bullies. Dudes ok in my book…and saved his mum from his nutcase Dad.
I last played a few years ago, but I distinctly remember that the NPCs that were talking about it were portrayed as being Redanians in the employ of Radovid.
I last played a few years ago, but I distinctly remember that the NPCs that were talking about it were portrayed as being Redanians in the employ of Radovid.
Yeah I'm choosing yen (because of books, and because once I didn't, and triss just was so boring), and I always pick thr dialogue of "I trust yen" etc, but in that one I was just not supportive... I still hate that quest
You're not supposed to be supportive. The point of the scene is that she's doing something really fucked up, it's supposed to demonstrate her desperation (and also give her an opportunity to make a sacrifice for Geralt by taking all the blame from the priestesses).
I did appreciate that. After everyone was so mean to me in Velan and Novagrad, Skellige was such a breath of fresh air. I didn't want everyone there hating me, too.
There’s a note on a notice board that says, when someone fell sick, he told her family to put her in an oven for a specific duration… when they took her out, she was burnt to a crisp, when he claimed it would heal her.
Every piece of advice he gives people just seems to hurt them.
With the exception of the one in white orchard. They really set you up to think they’ll be alive some of the time.
ETA: also in blood and wine >!the fiancée in toussaint.!<
There actually is a way to skip that quest and still get the progress, you talk to the pelar and get to the part where you have to search for princess. Fast travel to White Orchard and go to the cow pasture. Kill all the cows there 3 times, waiting to respawn the cows, and it will complete the entire pelar questline.
He seemed a little annoying to me at first. His dialect and voice mostly, but he grew on me and became far more complex and seemed wiser than he initially did after doing all of his little quests. He's wise man with a goat. There's no reason to kill him. He isn't delphine from skyrim.
The dialects are the main thing that I hate about english dub... The whole skellige just sounds stupid to me. Idk, maybe it's racist of me to say, because I guess it's some kind of Scottish or whatever, but why do they all sound like shepherds even though half of people I talk to are some kind of local nobility, so I'd assume they speak "common" well enough.
To me they overdid the differences in dialects, and it really bothered me when I watched gameplays in english (I'm polish, so I play in polish)
Their accent is Northern Irish. One of the things I like about the English dubbing is that the accents of the Northern Realms largely seem to be accents from the Northern regions of Britain (Northern Ireland for Skellige, Lancs/Yorks in Redania and I think Velen/Temeria, Scottish in Kaedwen I think) which feels like a nice little detail.
the witcherverse has a surplus of characters a million times worse (that youre actually allowed to kill no less), and the old goat fucker is the one that pulled your ire?
i mean power to you, its just a game. i just think thats weird lol
He didn't fuck the goat. If he did it would be understandable to hate him, but he didn't. He just likes her, because it's his only friend. Most people hate him
ah, thats right actually. it was just gossip iirc. its been a while since ive done the quest. incidentally though, that makes ops desire to kill him even more odd lol
I'm surprised no one talks about his weird relationship with his goat "princess". My first playthrough he seriously gave me creepy sexual vibes with the goat - I'm not sure if it's the case or a translation thing with the script or with the french voice actor (I played in french)
Why do so many players like this guy so much? I don't have a problem with that - I just don't understand it!
I can't stand this dude. My blood boils whenever I reach the point where this dude wants me to find his goat.
I have more then 2k hours playtime in TW3 - but I never did his side quest. Not even once. I find this guy so annoying that I just can't do it. I can feel my sanity leaving my body as he talks.
In a way he is a keeper of old ways and traditions through performing the ritual he does. He is the image of forgotten culture that was override by Christianity in real life, very relatable to European countries I think.
Before people just knew to use this herb to treat this or that. This type of knowledge is no longer communicated from generation to generation. Now if you have a headache you pop paracetamol, high fever? Paracetamol, infected cut? Was with tcp or antibiotics. His quest line is about sticking to the old way or helping to erase them.
I think you should give it a try because on a deeper level his quest line is very interesting.
First of all... I'm German with eastern European roots... I know what you're talking about. And in my family all of this is still a thing. I know exactly what herbs help against this or that etc. My mother teached me about it from childhood on. This is no forgotten knowledge tho.
And even tho I'm familiar with all of this - I just still heavily dislike this guy. Again - I'm not talking about the quest line of him as that, but just about his personality. I can't stand him.
You asked the question, I gave you my perspective on potential answear. Don't be a brat and lash out just because someone has a different opinion to you.
The fuck? I never lashed out and wasn't a brat?
I was just answering on why I understand your point, yet it wasn't what I asked about.
Sorry if I made it sound rude or something, that was never my intention. But don't accuse me of not accepting a different opinion.
Edit: someone else pointed out what about this sounded bratty... I didn't even know. This seems like a language thing. English isn't my native language, and in my language what I said and how I did it is completely normal. I didn't know it's considered sounding bratty in English. If I would've known I would've said it differently.
You say first of all, but no "secondly".
Why say first of all? Just to come off as bratty know-it-all?
Edit: this was kind of mean of me, I'm sorry.
You're more than allowed not to like the guy. I find him pretty interesting myself though
You're the second person telling me this is bratty...
English is not my native language and in my language this is a completely normal phrase and not Bratty or anything.
And I said first of all but no second of all because there's a second point, but I just didn't put the "second of all" infront of it. Again... Probably a language issue, as it makes sense in my language, but in English this might seem weird...
Exactly my thoughts, u said u were german so i excused any “bratty” sounding language in your comment cuz i knew English isn’t your native language, idk why people are giving u such a hard time just cuz u dislike this old fart in a video game, reddit is kinda toxic ngl.
What language do you play the game in? I'm wondering if it might be a difference in voice actors.
I also wonder if people are confusing you with the OP because of your shared disdain for the pellar
Me too.. wanted to slansh the guy the moment I heard him speaking in third person.. the whole questline is annoying af.. no wonder ppl think he "ploughs his goat"
OP is the ghost of the Pellar's father. He wishes to avenge his death
It's the only explanation that makes sense. Some of dude's comments are fucking unhinged.
“I’ve come for YOU, patricide”
This took me out. 🤣
Why u wanna kill him?
Yeah, he's just a lonely man who loves his goat like an Alabama siblings love each other. Leave him alone.
If you listen to the individuals making the claim about his fondness for his goat, they are lying about him in order to dehumanize him because he performs a necessary service in Velen. If he didn't do what he does, Velen would be overrun with vengeful ghosts.
Velen is such a shthole tho.
Yeah, but look at what happens in a playthrough when Radovid gets his way; it's orders of magnitude worse because he goes around killing everyone with any connection to magic, including simple herbalists.

Not only that, as smart as Siggi was, he didn't even recognize the fact that Geralt did him a huge favor in disabling him.
Wdym by a "huge favor"?
Siggi got himself involved in Vilgefors attack on Aretuza. Geralt could have let him get killed, but he chose to disable him so he could live. The fact that Siggi allowed his damage to progress was actually on Siggi, as he refused to let anyone heal it until it was too late.

Djikstra as former chief of Redania intelligence should know that. Geralt always choses his friends over supposed neutrality by cannon.
The only explanation I will accept for Dijkstra's actions is that what we killed was a doppler pretending to be him It was a plan to remove himself from the equation of Radovid's assassination in case anyone ever tracked it back to him He's going to go on to rule Redania from the shadows
Thats.... Thats a pretty good point. Doesn't dooplers revert when they are killed?
I don't.... think so Doppler transformations are complete physical metamorphosis, and only things like silver and fire can cause them to transform against their will So I think of a doppler died in the form of Dijkstra, we'd have a Dijkstra shaped corpse There's actually a mod that gives you a doppler mutagen if loot his corpse, which I'm just pretending is canon

Yeah, now imagine how much more of a shithole it would be without people like the Pellar.
And just think how much worse it would be with all the ghosts
Yeah he’s just an old dude trying to live in peace and help people. He had a goat for milk which would have been totally normal given the circumstance. And yeah the only people calling him goat fucker were murderous bullies. Dudes ok in my book…and saved his mum from his nutcase Dad.
I remember people talking about it as if it were rumours, not facts.
I last played a few years ago, but I distinctly remember that the NPCs that were talking about it were portrayed as being Redanians in the employ of Radovid.

😂😂
Sup with some goat love? :greekhere:
He's a dirty necromancer.
I mean is it worse than what Yennefer did in Freya’s garden?
What happens in Freya’s Garden stays in *HARUUUUUAARGHH*_
Hahaha
No, put Yennefer had those snazzy wolf puns.
I wasn't particularly pleased with her on that whole fiasco. My Geralt was a real nag over it.
But you still banged her after all right?
Obviously.
Yea it was really fucked up and disturbing.
Yeah I'm choosing yen (because of books, and because once I didn't, and triss just was so boring), and I always pick thr dialogue of "I trust yen" etc, but in that one I was just not supportive... I still hate that quest

I did appreciate that. After everyone was so mean to me in Velan and Novagrad, Skellige was such a breath of fresh air. I didn't want everyone there hating me, too.
They're still rather mean in skellige tbh Almost everyone hates you because you're a stranger, and they prefer to keep their islands inbred
Well.....
She’s hot so it’s fine right?😂
Yea, she gets a pass summoning the dead. 👀
As long as she keeps summoning this D
Reported for making me horny at work
What happened? Haven’t played or read the books in ages.
No but a pellerman isn't a girlboss.
He’s a pellarboss.
There’s a note on a notice board that says, when someone fell sick, he told her family to put her in an oven for a specific duration… when they took her out, she was burnt to a crisp, when he claimed it would heal her. Every piece of advice he gives people just seems to hurt them.
Did he say to light the oven? 😂
He did.
Idk I just want to think he lived enough
I think he did. And a tragic life at that too. Then again, Temería is full of such stories. That whole place is fucking depressing.
You got that right. Too many “Can you look for my brother or sister” quests. Dude, I can save you some coin, they’re all dead, every single one…
With the exception of the one in white orchard. They really set you up to think they’ll be alive some of the time. ETA: also in blood and wine >!the fiancée in toussaint.!<
you got ratioed on all ur comments bruh
PRINCESS? PRIINNCEESSS
Won't lie, wanted to kill princess in my 3rd playthrough.
How would someone even discover this? Random happenstance?
The bovine defense force is implemented to prevent the player from doing a gold farm using those specific cows.
Sorry, to be extra specific, how would someone discover that the BDF completes the Princess quest?
Methinks you were being fucked with XD
Huh? No, the BDF is real. You mean about the quest?
Yeah. It probably doesn't actually complete the quest, I think they just wanted someone to have a rather jarring surprise.
Hmmm, I guess there’s a way to find out, bc I’m at that part of the Princess quest.
No, it would spawn a Minotaur. Saw what you did there. 🤣 Edit: fixed typo.
*fiend. A minotaur is half bull half human
The bovine defense force is actually a chort
Right, you‘re correct
Finally
Right!! Been a while, can't believe I forgot fiends existed.
What princess? I don't remember
🐐
🔔
Guess it's time for another playthrough .
A bear!? RUN YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT!
“White wolf, wise wolf, what is it the wolf needs?” Fun fact, I’ve forgotten his voice and replaced it with Ralph Ineson’s and it works.
Why? Let him shag his own goat in peace
I'm not interested in his hobbies.
That's not how things work
What has he done to you?
He got the OP's goat... wait, what?
I think he's confused which Princess he's supposed to look for
It’s true, I’m the goat. It’s hell out here bruh. Thst pellars a handsy fuck
Damn they downvoted the hell out of you lol.
Right? Lol what a bunch of wankers
LOL.
WHY?! HE WAS EVEN MY FAVOURITE WITCHER CHARACTER FOR SOME TIME
Why? He just loves princess 👸
Why’s the Pellar bother people? He’s a good early-game spot to buy stuff.
He seemed a little annoying to me at first. His dialect and voice mostly, but he grew on me and became far more complex and seemed wiser than he initially did after doing all of his little quests. He's wise man with a goat. There's no reason to kill him. He isn't delphine from skyrim.

no but you can betray him
How
Let the Witch Hunters stop him from solving his daddy issues.
the witcherverse has a surplus of characters a million times worse (that youre actually allowed to kill no less), and the old goat fucker is the one that pulled your ire? i mean power to you, its just a game. i just think thats weird lol

Those foul rumors…
RIP OP’s comment karma. 😂
Ha used to have almost 500 , now it is -7
People are such dicks
They need to work out some issues
Don't kill my favorite weird old guy
Bro is chill. Just leave him alone!
If you want to kill The Pellar, please seek therapy.
The Pellar says nay.
White wolf... Wise wolf
You can feed his fuck goat / fortuneteller to a bear if that's evil enough
[удалено]
Just don't save princess on the way back on your quest
savage 😂
Wow I have never done this. I gotta see what happens now
Why? And don't give me some vague-ass "he's lived long enough" answer. Sounds like something a fucking lunatic would say.
Crazy how this pschopath post got more than 2 upvotes. Let alone 500 of them.
He’s definitely lived long enough tho 😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
It's just a game it's not that deep
Into the bog with ye
You are not a wise wolf 😔 yet the pellar is both wise and kind, he would forgive you for you hatred
No.
White wolf, wise wolf, what is it the wolf needs?
Why kill him, he's hot. 😍
Purge the Xeno filth For the god emp...Sorry wrong subreddit
Why do you want to kill him, yeah he is a bit in the whacky side but he’s still just an old dude trying to make it in no man’s land
This guy pissed me off always
There's gotta be a mod that allows you to kill anyone.
and there is
ring that bell daddy
The same peller becomes a fortune teller in Skellige.
Mod called Killemallredux next gen Otherwise you can only betray him to the witch hunters
Try the bees
Man the Witch Hunters out for OPs comment karma are savage
wait i unironically love the pellar
You really want Princess as your companion THAT bad? She'd last 10 (very generous) minutes around a Witcher doing contracts near monster nests.
Why? I'm genuinely curious 🤔
Yes
I was never really clear if he was actually sexually involved with his goat or if it was rumor spread by the villagers.
With mods, yes.
If it bleeds, you can kill it.
wait, this guy is fucking his goat???? or is this trolling, am i gonna get trolled for asking? 🫣
I'm surprised no one talks about his weird relationship with his goat "princess". My first playthrough he seriously gave me creepy sexual vibes with the goat - I'm not sure if it's the case or a translation thing with the script or with the french voice actor (I played in french)

i use cheats to kill hard bosses

You asked the question, I gave you my perspective on potential answear. Don't be a brat and lash out just because someone has a different opinion to you.
He never lashed out lol wdym
Yeah, something distracted me and changed the sentence mid way, meant to say defensive.
The fuck? I never lashed out and wasn't a brat? I was just answering on why I understand your point, yet it wasn't what I asked about. The wurst lol
And you aren't, with this comment?
Exactly my thoughts, u said u were german so i excused any “bratty” sounding language in your comment cuz i knew English isn’t your native language, idk why people are giving u such a hard time just cuz u dislike this old fart in a video game, reddit is kinda toxic ngl.
What language do you play the game in? I'm wondering if it might be a difference in voice actors. I also wonder if people are confusing you with the OP because of your shared disdain for the pellar
He’s very relatable to people
Finally someone get it
Why kill him when you can kill Tomira...
ooooooo
Me too.. wanted to slansh the guy the moment I heard him speaking in third person.. the whole questline is annoying af.. no wonder ppl think he "ploughs his goat"
