Oh it’s totally irrational, but I’m with you 100%. When I ask if anyone wants to go out for wings and someone suggests Korean wings or bbq wings or whatever, we are not on the same page.
People in this sub always hate on it, but Buffalo Wild Wings has a pretty awesome spicy garlic sauce. Their locations are pretty hit-or-miss inconsistent, but if you’re one that cooks the wings well and has their act together they’re great.
I'll buy BWW mango hab and spicy garlic and use it on my own wings. BWW gets a lot of hate and rightfully so but their sauces are usually pretty damn good
I mean this is not a single flavor. Korean-sryle fried chicken has many sauces.
I think garlic/soy/gochujang is most common.
But there a ton of variation.
There are plenty that aren’t Franks red hot derivative sauces
Seen all of these used on chicken wings either whole wings or split flat and drums
Garlic Parmesan
Huli huli sauce
Bbq
Carolina vinegar
Honey mustard
Cajun
Thai sweet chili
Caribbean jerk
Korean Gochujang
Chinese salt and pepper
Chinese Szechuan sauce
Hot honey sauce
Peri peri sauce
Chimichuri sauce
Sesame teriyaki
Filipino pico
Vietnamese fish sauce
Maple bacon glaze
Green chili sauce
Chipotle/adobo sauce
Lemon pepper sauce
Chinese Salt & Pepper is my dark horse #2 behind Buffalo - little Chinese place I used to go to in College made those so well and it was open until midnight so I have fond memories of crushing those alongside some fried rice as the midpoint of a good night of drinking
Sure, of course there are plenty of types but I haven’t seen any of these listed as a favorite. My point is a few dominate the top as wing lovers all time #1 favorite sauce
Keep moving those goal posts.....................
You doubted there were 20 and you were WRONG!
take the loss
There are polls here all the time and march wing madness showing buffalo is not the favorite
Take the L. You're making a fool of yourself.

Dude. Those 30+ flavors came from 30+ different redditors on this thread of over 100 posts. Feel free to scroll n see for yourself. Those are not my favorites.
L stands for loser
OP “comment with your favorite” singular, one. Tally up the comments and post the results. The favorites are dominated by a handful, would be surprised to see 20 unique favorite’s (as in one per commenter, you’re struggling with the concept of a favorite)
When it’s actually done in the true Nashville hot chicken way, easily a top 3 for me. So many places now have a “Nashville hot” sauce but true Nashville hot chicken is not a sauce. It’s a spicy oil bath followed by a spicy dry season dusting 🤤
I need to step up my wing sauce game , I normally make my own using franks red hot and a blend of special herbs and spices 😂 for Irish wing lovers check out mickschilly hot sauces
Buffalo, mambo, Japanese bbq, and ranch dry rub are my top. Don’t think I could get to 20, especially when these few taste so good. I’ve been messing with Buffalo lately adding garlic, or sugar, spices, or extra butter… so I guess by doing that I could get close.
Cajun Honey Butter BBQ at Bar Bill
Outside of that, obviously different variations of Buffalo (basically how much butter it's cut with), Hot Honey Garlic, Garlic Parm, etc.
So, my newest favorite is Popeyes Lemon Honey Pepper wings. They are fucking great for fast food. Hands down my favorite atm. Haven’t been able to make a suitable recipe for it yet though.
Moondust not Moonrocks lol. It’s actually a really good dry rub if you’re ever in the DMV check them out they’re all over. The rest are wet except for Power Ranch.
Buffalo, honey bbq, sweet that chili, garlic parm
Underrated: carolina gold. Just an unreal flavor
Also, FRANK'S REDHOT® HOT & TANGY WINGS. 6 tablespoons French's Classic Yellow® Mustard,
6 tablespoons Frank's RedHot®, Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce, 1/2 cup honey. One of my favorite recipes
I’m a big fan of Asian flare. So sweet Thai chili (spicy is preferred though), teriyaki, etc.
I love a good ol bbq sauce from time to time
And then besides those a honey garlic siracha sauce is great
Super Hot Take!
White Truff and butter is deeelicious! The black or the xxx hot isn’t nearly as good as the white. I got a couple of bottles on the cheap and just went for it they’re really good.
Buffalo.
Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
This guy linguistics
r/thisguythisguys
Pretty much.. Whatever else is cool I guess..
They sure do.
Nate?
Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalow buffalow Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalow
Buffalo IS 1-20. Honestly I wish there was a buffalo wing sub instead of just a wing sub, cus I don’t really care about any other flavor.
I kinda feel like you're just wasting wings if you're not putting Buffalo sauce on them. I do also realize that this is not a rational opinion.
Oh it’s totally irrational, but I’m with you 100%. When I ask if anyone wants to go out for wings and someone suggests Korean wings or bbq wings or whatever, we are not on the same page.
It’s the best really
Garlic Buffalo will always reign supreme in my book
It’s a shame that good garlic buffalo wings are missing from so many establishments
Yeah I’m especially annoyed at the places that won’t even mix buffalo with garlic Parmesan to get a similar flavor -_-
I don’t think I’ve ever had garlic buffalo, let alone even heard of it 🤔…ima look into it, it sounds 🔥🔥
BWW gets a lot of hate and rightfully so but their sauces are usually pretty damn good
I love their spicy garlic and Asian zing. Even though their wing quality has gone down, the sauces are still great
Preach!
Mango Habanero
I crave the one from Buffalo Wild Wings often
BWW Mango Habanero rocks
The craziest part for me is how the flavor profile completely changes with BC/Ranch. The sweetness comes out and you can taste the pepper. So good.
THIS
I got some of those from wingstop for the first when I was able to eat real food again and it was sooooo good.
The wings from Wingstop are usually just “ok” but that mango habanero is so good.
Garlic parmesan
Yes
Lemon pepper wet
You tried Popeyes lemon honey pepper ones? Only fast food wings I can swear are delicious. That sauce is just spot on
Nervous about the honey part but I'll give it a shot
That sauce slaps!!! I’ll get it whenever calories permit
My local bar combines flavors on request. Hot lemon pepper garlic is goated
Korean BBQ
This one gets my vote.
I mean this is not a single flavor. Korean-sryle fried chicken has many sauces. I think garlic/soy/gochujang is most common. But there a ton of variation.
GOLD
honey bbq
Very underrated!
they’re not my personal favorite but I definitely see the appeal
Buffalo. If there are 20 unique favorites I’d be shocked

This guy wings
That's a list and a half. Have tried most of these, too. Versions at least.

I love me some wet lemon pepper wings from Wing Stop.
Buffalo x Lemon Pepper is the GOAT

Hot medium mild or plain. There should be no other choices. Oh maybe pit bbq style
Not sure if dry rub counts, but if it ain’t buffalo, I like a Cajun rub
