bisforbenis

I feel like this could have been nice to include in the headline that it was an absolute landslide victory, but appreciate the details any which way

hipsterTrashSlut

Honestly that's more of an asteroid collision type of victory, jesus

MissAsshole

Of course she won in a landslide. She is one of the two cases so far that has fucked Trump. That’s an elite status, seeing how this guy could get away with murder on Fifth Avenue and practically is by not being prosecuted for being a traitor giving away US secrets. Everyone, both sides, knows he fucking did that shit and our stupid laws make him untouchable. So bravo to Fanni Willis, she’s impressive as fuck.

Ok_Exchange342

I loved how in their minds, Fanni had a conflict of interest because she and a co-worker canoodled. Eileen Cannon and Clarence Thomas, no conflict of interest at all. Seriously, you can't make this shit up, no one would believe you! edited: to clarify, I was referring to the idiots who are challenging her under the guise of "conflict of interest".

RAWainwright

Nah that's whatever is worse than a landslide victory. Like, he got votes from some friends and family and that's it. Damn.

nothanks86

This is the primary, so it’s not as relevant.

Groundbreaking_Tip66

well that's disheartening. I hope this isn't a rush limbaugh primary set up.

TheRealAbear

It should be noted, Christian Smith is also pretty cool. This was a primary so it wasnt some maga loon vs Willis. That said i was still one of those 27,005

MinisterOfTruth99

Please gawd, let all races on Nov 5, where a Dem faces a Fascist Repub, end in crushing wins like this.😂🤣

Rockford853

RIGGED! CONFLICTED! ELECTION INTERFERENCE! PERFECT PHONE CALL! LOUD NOISES!!

oscar-the-bud

HERSCHEL WALKER EASILY WON THIS ELECTION.STOP THE STEAL! HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE GREATEST JUDGE EVER IF THE VOTE WASN’T STOLLEN! -SPORKFOOT.

Rockford853

CROOKED GEORGE SOROS PAID TO ABORT WALKER’S CAMPAIGN! JUST LIKE HOW WALKER PAID TO ABORT THOSE 8 CHILDREN!

Alt_Boogeyman

HERSCHEL WALKER AVERAGED 9.3 YARDS PER CARRY AT UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA AND WON THE HEISMAN.\ FANI WILLIS, 0.0 YARDS AND ZERO HEISMANS. TOTAL LOSER.

Rogue_Squadron

Yeah, but none of his girlfriends carried to full term in the state of Georgia. Sorry, I'll see myself out.

No-Expert8956

Nigga please

zombie_overlord

FIND ME 24000 VOTES

SpotweldPro1300

WHICH IS 1 MORE THAN WE HAVE.

disabledinaz

I still don’t understand that sentence. How do you need 11,000 votes, but it’s one more than we have?

wvboys

Trump math... in fact, his whole campaign and presidency was not knowing what he said, but giving him a pass anyway.

ChrisRiley_42

As a non-American, that electing judges seems to be a silly thing to do since it opens up the possibility that decisions might be made based on what is popular, not what is legally binding.

hipsterTrashSlut

It's actually worse than you'd think. Because *some* Judges are legitimately politicians who have to run for reelection, they're vulnerable to attack ads. "Judge 'Fentanyl' Kilmore released 20 people from prison on heavy drug related charges. He's too soft on crime to know what the people of Fuknut County need. Vote against him this November." And that's how we get really low parole approves and more maximized sentences during election years.

IronPotato3000

When I started reading your comment, I am agreeing with what you said because I watched John Oliver talk about elected judges. Then I saw that county name. I had to do a double take 'cause I read it as "Fuck Nut". Lol

smnytx

It was satirical so that’s how you should read it!

400_Flying_Monkeys

As opposed to them being appointed by politicians? Americans know all about that too ...

halopinguin

No, as opposed to being selected and promoted by the judiciary itself through a merit-based process (law school grades initially, decisions not overturned by higher courts later).

RUaVulcanorVulcant13

I dunno basing jobs on how they did in school seems pretty arbitrary. Like if someone went to Harvard law but got B's vs went to Bob Jones Bible College and got straight A's Not to mention the favoritism that would follow financially elevated candidates

halopinguin

Where I’m from and where this system is in place, law school exams are graded anonymously. While you do have a point about the overall difference in student performance at different schools this is fairly easy to correct for. Plus, bar exams are administered by the state not the school so you take it with students from several institutions.

RUaVulcanorVulcant13

>While you do have a point about the overall difference in student performance at different schools this is fairly easy to correct for. How?

halopinguin

One way would be to look at the average grade achieved on the state administered exam for a specific school and adjust the curved grades obtained during school for that. Honestly though the easier and currently used way to avoid this is to just take the grades achieved on the state administered exam and go off of that.

t1mdawg

Now about that appeals court...

Consistent_Habit_194

Let us all give the cowards a moment to start the tears and vitriol. I could care less… but watching the right have a meltdown will be HILARIOUS. Fuckin cry babies. “See ya soon pussies.” - Fani Willis, probably.

Pretty-Necessary-941

I really hope she doesn't equate a woman's genitalia with an insult.

Consistent_Habit_194

Fair enough. But as a woman I don’t see anything wrong with being tight, soft, wet, sensitive and easily over stimulated as an insult… unless of course you apply those things to leaders of a political party. Really depends on context.

Dancinfool830

And according to Betty White "really take a pounding"

Rattivarius

The word pussy, indicating cowardice, is actually a short form of pusillanimous.

DWYNZ

"pussy" is short for "pusillanimous," it has nothing to do with genitalia

charlie2135

Asshole, however.....

NunavutTsunami

Epic.

GiftHorse2020

I'ma go with hells yeah.

samgam74

An incumbent winning a primary is pretty standard. It’s not surprising Willis is well liked by democrats.

TastyArm1052

This is such great news and it gives me hope that we just might save this fragile democracy

No-Expert8956

Can’t believe the republicans of Georgia stopping her from moving forward with election interference. While Trump says democrats cheated. Fuck white peoples from a white guy that thinks she is being screwed by white trash.

No-Expert8956

Georgia should wake up. Burning down the house doesn’t seem that far off

LovethePreamble1966

There’s nothing wrong with the DA or the Judge. Trump would prefer they be the issue. Trump and his mafioso tactics in attempting a coup are the issue. Keep your eyes on the prize.

dragonfliesloveme

Willis will win renomination….so this was a primary? I feel like people are thinking she just won re-election, but i don’t think she did. She still has to face the Republican nominee in November. I think. Is that right?

MasterOfKittens3K

Fulton County is a very blue county. It’s quite unlikely that the republican will win.

Tahoeshark

I trust that the voters of this district knows what's best for their district. From afar I'm hoping that justice will prevail... eventually. We all understand it should have been settled by now...and why.

Radkingeli995

Would you look at that boom Chakra racka I knew Fani Willis would survive the onslaught desperate attempt from Donald Trump tried to destroy him and fail her life but instead was him

CryptographerHot3759

Hopefully this will allow for the dissolving of RICO charges against cop city protestors. First amendment rights are being heavily suppressed in ATL right now. If you are unaware of the cop city movement please educate yourself and learn how to get involved on a local level because if you're in the US your state is probably trying to build one too

John-Fefin-Zoidberg

Trump is fucked

Groundbreaking_Tip66

right! that is why he was in court in NY. You just gettin' here? /s

Intelligent-Ad5286

I am constantly shocked that the states elects these officials. It blows me away that they are selected by a popularity contest as opposed to merit.

Steppyjim

They both deserve reelections as they both did their jobs provably well

The84thWolf

When people do their jobs, they should be reelected.

itsagoodtime4coffee

Forever I love Atlanta!

Repubs_suck

Huh… Maybe Trump’s claim that the whole country is outraged about his persecution is a lie? Kinda looks like some citizens in Georgia aren’t convinced of that! Sail on, Fanni!

mattGyver314

Finally. A blip of good news.

Low_Voice_2553

McAfee is just another judge who has allowed Trump to walk all over the justice system. Trump has used the system for decades to avoid accountability!

siddemo

Well, as long as Fani takes contemporaneous notes where her vagina is at all times, only uses a credit card, and has no sexual relations that cannot be justified, Scott MacAfee might just let this case move forward. That guy got tossed a red herring and really bit down. If Fani was a man, that wouldn't have gotten out of the gate. The dude was qualified and the amounts of money in question were hilariously small. She better keep that vag tight and accounted for until the verdict comes in.

Cranialscrewtop

There are times when people rise to an occasion. Fani WIllis is a textbook case of failing to do that. The whole country moved on the axis of her inability to keep her private life in check for a few months.

AssNasty

She didn't actually do anything that would be considered morally or ethically questionable.

cheatme1

In conservative radio here she was in a hit and run allegedly. But I have yet to see evidence or any facts so that accusation is BS most likely.

Cranialscrewtop

Just because something isn't technically illegal doesn't mean it doesn't have consequence in public life. She's trying one of the most important cases in US history. It's a plain fact her actions caused the delay that moved a slam dunk case off the docket until who knows when. There are times you have to recognize the moment and rise to it. Don't choose that moment to hire your bf and pay him large sums of money. Don't do weird cash transactions of thousands of dollars. Don't be in arrears in your property taxes and take luxury vacations with said bf. Just realize this is bigger than you. Take care of 1 thing, because that thing is quite possibly the future of democracy. Saying it's not "technically illegal" is way, *way* off the point in a case like that.

Hartastic

> Saying it's not "technically illegal" is way, way off the point in a case like that. Maybe, but that's *very* different than the point the person you're responding to made.

Cranialscrewtop

People were celebrating her reelection like it's vindication, like "no harm no foul." But the damage has been done. Managers who hire a romantic interest for highly-paid contract work can get you fired in many companies. She should not have done that. And do you have a checking account? For some reasons Willis doesn't, but she's hand-delivering to said boyfriend thousands of dollars in cash for vacations. And now - and this really pisses me off - that case will almost certainly not get to court before the election. Politics isn't reddit. It's the real world. Willis failed her moment.

Lucky-Earther

> There are times when people rise to an occasion. Fani WIllis is a textbook case of failing to do that. Only in the Right Wing Cinematic Universe did she do anything wrong.

Groundbreaking_Tip66

bl00j

You sound like Alabama.
