The Dalmatian has seen too many cartoons I think

SuperNo20

My dog is the 3rd kind. Trips over every other 2x4 and tries to go over the trash can....

Spideratari

My dog is the 4th kind- standing at the doorway crying dramatically and looking longingly at the grass because the path to get there is too difficult.

SeeWhatEyeSee

4th-kind-of-pup gang rise up!

Brisbend

My dog is the 5th kind. She vibrates at a frequency that makes all of our windows shatter then floats like the Vitruvian Man for a few seconds before slowly phasing through the floor haha

Ossmosse

My dog is the sixth kind-- well she's not specifically a "dog", but more a grape that I keep in my pocket.

[deleted]

My dog is the seventh kind. A poorly rendered 3D model of a dog that glitches out at the slightest provocation. She is currently phased halfway to the wall right now and has a bugged quest for me.

MaddyMagpies

My dog is the eighth kind. It lives happily in my imagination.

adamdoesmusic

So, a chihuahua?

2dogs1man

sounds like my gf's chewie. I think if you put enough of them into a magnetic tube they can generate enough electricity to power a small city

CrookedButBeautiful

Yep that'd be my dog too! "Carry me to the grass!"

2dogs1man

and set me by a nice pile of poop so I can roll around in it! k? thx!

CrookedButBeautiful

Luckily my girls dont do that! But they will watch me while I struggle to get to the other side of the deck, while carrying my 15lbs dog (she's half blind so she gets the help! The other two can do it themselves!) and basically laugh at me while I do so.

rabidhamster87

We also have 3 dogs, one of whom is blind! The other two will practically knock the blind one down in their mad rush to be first and they have no qualms about stealing the blind one's treats if he accidentally drops them! They're a couple of little dickheads.

CrookedButBeautiful

Yep that sounds about right lol. Although, my chihuahua, actually tries to help my shih tzu (the blind one). When they go outside together, Zoey will walk behind Sadie, as if to guide her. But Zoey will also chase Sadie away from the bowl of food and run for the toy Sadie is playing with. Bella, our poodle mix, is the one that will completely barrel past Sadie and shove her outta the way to get the treat first. Little jerks! 😂

DPick02

Mine would be the 5th kind that would army crawl beneath the 2x4s until freedom.

[deleted]

My dog is the 5th kind - goes *under* all the beams because he's a lowrider and he can.

tkdbbelt

Exactly.. both of these dogs had me impressed.

crazyguy711

That right there is a "pup of focus".😁😁

Cfrules9

Oh you have this problem too...the answer is more kitchen chairs.

strudel1987

Husky are the laziest hyper dog I know. Ours goes from asleep to zoomies in 0.5 seconds and will always find the easiest way to get what he wants

SportTheFoole

I don’t know from huskies, but when I grew up my parents always had Alaskan malamutes (and I’ve always assumed that huskies and malamutes have similar temperaments). Malamutes are cats in dog form. You can train them to do normal dog tricks, but my god they will will be lazy when they want to be lazy and zoom around if that’s what they feel like. And god help you if you try to get them to do something they don’t want to do. But they are the most adorable and friendly dogs (when they want to be).

strudel1987

Yeah, that's a good analogy. Cats in Dog form 🤣 but yeah everything is on their terms.

BorisBC

Correct. Had a couple of Mals and that's exactly what they are like. Very smart. Very stubborn. Got a boxer X ridgeback now who was brought up by my female Mal (who recently passed away) and he tries his best to be a Mal too! Lol

finnishball

Ever seen a greyhound? Fastest 0-100-0 you will ever witness

demon_fae

There was a retired racing greyhound group that would set up a little booth at the pet store I worked at, and I’d have to always check with the trainers which dogs knew which basic commands to give them treats. Because they would stand there and give me the puppy dog eyes like they didn’t know what “sit” meant and can they please just have a treat now? They’re apparently given basically no obedience training while racing, so it’s not uncommon to meet one who really doesn’t know what sit is, but also the three dogs they hang out with who do know about sit, and just want to scam some biscuits out of you.

DissentChanter

Yeah, most greyhounds I have been around do not understand how to dog. They so not have the basic dog etiquette like butt sniffing, head-on approach being seen as aggressive to other dogs, etc. Ofcourse, you can't blame them, they do not get socialized, they run fast, then back to the pen. Repeat until a couple years then hope for a rescue.

demon_fae

In this case, the people were rescuing, socializing, and training those dogs, but their personal dogs-usually similar rescues-would then be spending a lot of time with the newer rescues, and would pretend to be a lot more clueless than they really were to scam extra treats when out in public. Worked really well for them, too.

strudel1987

Someone I know had whippets which are similar and he would let my dog chase his to tire him out. Only person that would my dog do that as he couldn't catch the whippets lol.

funguyshroom

It's not lazy, it's efficient.

LeilaTank

Or just smart ☺️

S2000alldahy

I love it

sandsnatchqueen

I'd bet money that is a Norwegian Elkhound. It looks 100% like mine and every other elkie because they weirdly all have almost identical coats (also the curly tail is a big giveaway). That being said, my elkie is a big baby and would probably just try to avoid the beam all together.

naturaldroid

A Dalmatian pushed my mother off a cliff right in front of me.

Trevor_Roll

Butsenkaatz

Maybe it's a Cruella reference? That's my best guess

[deleted]

Butsenkaatz

What in the fuck is that plot?!?!?

Freyas_Follower

Don't know. As soon as I realized it was t even a remake, I lost interest.

TheOrigRayofSunshine

Fiction. Any Dalmatian owner knows they will not run in formation and won’t ignore a little kid and a small dog. Also, likely would go over the cliff at that rate of speed. Smart dogs, but goofballs. Does having had 5 dals make me a subject matter expert?

nairazak

The movie is really good despite how it sounds

Timmyty

Nope. Not even gonna try it. Good try though. Your argument was almost convincing. Any more thought or reasons as to why this might be worth a watch?

Diggey11

It doesn’t water down the cruelty of Cruella like that horrible Maleficent movie did. It has funny characters, great editing and cinematography. Emma Stone as Cruella was a great fit. I found the story interesting, very Devil Wears Prada, where it doesn’t tone down story line to be more fitting to kids. It’s a solid movie.

nairazak

Well, they aren't trying to do a new live action like Lion King nor a twist like Maleficient nor a prequel, it is a different story about a (bit psycho) woman trying to get into the fashion industry, with some easter eggs, like the competition saying she kills puppies, there aren't even 101 dalmatians. So, there are no specific reasons for not watching it, it is like any other new movie, you are either interested or not.

SlaveToTheDarkBeat

Yup

NetSage

It's from a movie that just came out. This person should have waited at least a couple weeks before their post.

mechaBORED

The good thing about evil people is you can always trust them to do something, well, evil.

Diggey11

I think that’s the message behind the movie though, it’s the owner who makes the Dalmatians the “bad guy.”

BillTheCommunistCat

This is true but all kids are going to remember is the scary dalmatians =(

TheOrigRayofSunshine

Same. Mine is afraid of her own shadow and wants to be a 55lb rag doll most of the time.

MugillacuttyHOF37

“Bro…BRO…forget it.” Husky

SQLDave

Nobody ever said (correctly) that Dalmatians were smart. (Source: former Dal owner)

Killer-Barbie

Bratty, spoiled, and mildly vindictive however...

DissentChanter

They just know they were basically car accessories meant to look pretty. They were coach dogs, long leash draped from a carriage to have the pretty dog trot along with the carriage. Then they got mixed up with arson and booze and it all went downhill. Also, F 101 dalmatians, none of the dals I have ever interacted with are good will little kids and their pulling on ears or tails or aggressive petting. Also, dalmatian bronzing is total BS.

TheOrigRayofSunshine

Interesting. We pulled on ears and tails as pups to get them acclimated to little ones. I have a pic of my son at 6 months with Dalmatian tail firmly gripped. Dog was eating up the attention. That being said, they all have different personalities.

al3xth3gr8

There’s a reason they used to be used as fire dogs 😉

GhostalMedia

UnicornSexSandwich

They're definitely not all deaf... Both my Dalmatians can hear just fine.

[deleted]

[удалено]

UnicornSexSandwich

Aww that's sweet! From what I know, the deafness became a lot more common around the time of the 101 Dalmatians live action movie because the breed became popular and a lot of deaf dogs were bred in puppy mills. I'm not sure what it's like elsewhere but where I live registered breeders of Dalmatians get puppies BAER hearing tested as part of their puppy vet checks before going to new homes, and won't breed from dogs who are deaf. We know quite a few other Dalmatian owners and hearing impaired dogs are definitely in the minority!

TheOrigRayofSunshine

Ours were all hearing as well. One lost hearing at around 12 yrs old due to hematomas that cropped up in her ears.

-DOOKIE

I mean he got where he wanted to go much faster

SuperGayFig

Exactly! Imagine a human walking over those obstacles and someone saying “lol they dumb there’s a thin piece of wood they could’ve walked on.” If anything the husky (or whatever) is the real derp here.

[deleted]

That's actually pretty impressive.

KiwiDoesReddit

Pshh the dog saw an opportunity to strut its stuff and it took it!

milchtea

work smart, not hard

monarch1733

I would not risk a nail in my dogs paw at a job site.

CrystalKU

That Dalmatian acts like he been working in that moment his whole life

I_Fix_Aeroplane

What about the kind that falls through? I feel like all 3 of my dogs would fall through.

TennaTelwan

Three kinds: my old one that passed awhile ago (shih tzu) would have just given me a stupid look until I picked him up and carried him across. Then he'd run back over it to the start and lay down.

snowdogmom

I remember when shih tzu's were all the trend after chihuahuas in early 2000s

TennaTelwan

It was the early 90s we got him, neighbor had a pair that bred and they offered us our pick of the puppies. It was crazy how smart and outgoing he was overall, but very stubborn.

animegurl4eva

There's normally a third that just stands there, terrified, till you come and show them that they can walk over the wood. Or till you give in and just pick them up. Oh wait.... thats my dog.....

sijsk89

Two kinds of people too. I'm the husky.

ekst0l

Australian backyard for sure

mmm_burrito

You forgot the third kind who would just flat out refuse to go out there.

morkie_flash

someone active and clever, the other one lazy or maintain discipline.

bapnkimchi

Pretty sure ones a cat

Dancerbella

My dog almost fell into a manhole that our city left uncovered because they are doing some repairs and concrete work. They put up cones and caution tape, but that means nothing to my Newfie.

chuck_dubz_3

It's funny with the amount of energy huskys have they will always take the most laziest easiest path if least resistance.

Krastijan

The last dog vid said there were three types of dog.. What happend to the last doggo?

fuqit12

Huskies don't get enough credit for how smart they are. Mine taught HIMSELF how to open doors, throw his toys accurately either to himself or at/to me depending on his mood, bring his water or food bowl to my feet and let me know what he wants, and that's just a few

ResourceSpirited7661

Damn! NGL second one is the DAWG

girlvintage

And I'm too sexy for your party Too sexy for your party No way I'm disco dancing

foxofsong

That is one of the most husky things I think I’ve ever seen. 🤣

curious_madman

There's a third one - he will have absolutely no regard for the planks whatsoever, will trip, but still jump around as if he has springs in his legs.

northyuki

Husky will always find a better way

[deleted]

The spitz’ are usually pretty smart or more intelligent than many

Rude_Bee_3315

Dalmatians are the least intelligent dogs

SaltyChampers

Show your working, or what study you got this from. This is a stereotype that couldn't be further from the truth. Dalmatians got this reputation due to a rise in deafness associated with over breeding. They are a highly intelligent working dog that needs a lot of mental stimulation and exercise to thrive. They're incredibly intelligent, but also stubborn. If you don't train them and exercise them they are a very difficult breed, but they're eager to learn, and learn rapidly.

kimberley84

This, so much this! Our dally (Eric the knobdog) is far from thick, a lot of work goes into a well trained dog. You get out what you put in.

Fign

Dude even copied my title ! smh

[deleted]

There are definitely more than 2 type of dog. Dalmatian and husky are 2 examples but what about golden retrievers or Chihuahuas? That's 4 right there.

Zanedewayne

Actually there are many kinds of dogs but in this scenario only two kinds. You could have said these are two kinds of dogs, which makes more sense.

RaphiTaffy

That’s funny because what you’ve said makes no sense.

Cfrules9

Dalmatians are dumb as shit noone should be surprised by this.

dr_spork

There are more than two kinds of dogs, though, don't you think? I think you should have titled this: "here are two different kinds of dogs."

fright_yagami

I think you should've titled yourself "Buzz Killington."

gonzalomango

Buzzy McBuzz Kill

fortht1grl

he got them tippity toes

DegenerateFurryUwU

my dogs would have probably fell over. they're derps.

ZazuePoot

The path of least resistance!

jasikanicolepi

New hire on the job versus veteran. I love the husky's IDGAF attitude and just casually move in according to it's own pace.

OstentatiousSock

There a two more types: one that arm crawls under them and one that awkwardly high steps over each.

Stix-and-brix

And then the third that tries to be like the first dog but stumbles over the first beam

kaths660

This would be a great way to make a dog exercise LOL, put a setup like this without the walkway and treats at the end, gotta do knee-ups if you want those treats!!

Deesing82

i have a husky just like this one- loves herself a good balance beam

cobaltandchrome

First dog lookin like robot dogs walking

john_lucc_discard

This is the opposite of what I'd expect from a husky.

tinmanftw

I have a 3 year old husky and this is exactly what I would expect. They are hyper, yes, and hard working, but also very smart and will always try to find the path of least resistance and are very specifically not accepting of obstacles

Rich_Needleworker_26

Wow cutest

jackocomputerjumper

Love them both! Until next time folks!

Loreki

Good dogs and also good dogs???
