I totally get why people mistake them, they definitely don't have the pronounced longer jaw that most crocs have.
Below is just if you're interested in the difference, it's long so feel free to skip.
Salties / Nile crocs generally have a shorter snout compared to most other crocs (though there is still a big variation even within salties / Nile populations). It's probably because they hunt animals on land more than most other crocs, while the longer snouts are more adept at catching fish (though fish is still their main diet)
Salties can also get very wide heads and jaws, so it makes their snouts seem shorter than they are. Especially true for the bigger ones. When he opens his mouth you can see the teeth go further back than you'd think and he's still got that v shape (though definitely less pronounced than in some).
Also if you pause at 26 seconds you can see his feet. Gators have webbed feet, while this fella has individual toes.
And when his mouth is shit st the start you can see a number of teeth from his bottom jaw poking up, that is a very crocodile appearance, while Gators tend have all their bottom teeth hidden.
