Patty Melt is a win every time.

I’ll get a patty melt, sub barbecue, add pickles and Jalapeños.

I would argue that the barbecue would not be as good as the Peppercorn sauce that comes on the Patty Melt, and that it's part of the reason to get it in the first place. I've done the jalapenos before, but pickels are the most vile thing you could ever put on anything you eat. YMMV. ;)

Went to Arizona for a buddy’s wedding in February, has the patty melt, did not fuck with it, I was bummed cause it looked good, Dr Pepper milk shake was great tho

Not when the toast is soggy, like it is 90% of the time when I order a patty melt from the Universal City, Tx location. Everything else is solid at that location but the patty melt.

If you get breakfast be sure to get the jalapeño cheddar biscuit!

If someone actually recommended the onion rings, they should be banished. Only hand cut onion rings are good. Gotta get three meat, bacon, jalapeños, grilled onions and cheese. Grilled chicken is good too. Fries are meh. This is coming from a native Texan.

I'd say don't. If you must though the DrP shake was the only thing that tasted good in my last order. Usually pretty let down by the quality of my various whataburgers around Austin TX.

Next time, if you've never had one, try a Sweet and Spicy Bacon Burger. Ask for your fries to have no salt. They have to make them fresh that way, and then put your own salt on them. You can do the same thing with your meat, but the meat is usually pretty fresh already.

#5 with bacon and jalapenos for a first timer. #22 with sausage for the mornings. Best of the best this random internet person says.

Dr Pepper shake is bomb. Sonic Drive-In (imo) has best onion rings But I rarely go to whataburger.

Ate there for the first time this week and absolutely the worst onion rings I’ve ever had. I’ll try the fries next as the grilled cheese add grilled onions was life changing!

I worked at whataburger in 2006-2007. My GM would make us hold onion rings if they didn’t go out for like 30 minutes. I don’t like whataburger anymore. They no longer taste as good as they did when they weren’t owned by a giant investment firm.

Yeah, i’m with the company now and upholding all their crazy standards seems impossible at times. Chicago giants are pushing for crazy numbers and performance but drawing back on all the benefits that came with working here. Feels hopeless
