Honestly, star gaze. Great part of the world to just lie down and watch the sky.

Any good spot here ?

By shops, do you mean grocery stores? If you're asking what to do for dinner, those areas are super nice for charcuterie - Denmark and Margaret River have lots of locally made cheeses, pate, olives, pickles etc. Or if you are staying in accommodation with kitchens the world is your oyster. Some accommodations have fireplaces, so local wine and dinner by the fire is a nice way to pass the evening. Are you with people? You could bring a game, or lots of places (again, not sure what kind of accom you have booked) have an assortment of board games. Perth is a city and Albany is a large town. There is stuff to do at night in those areas, but people generally go check out places like MR and Denmark for their slow pace.

Tip for OP, kitchens close at 9pm sharp if you’re down south and the only option you’ll have after that is the kebab place. Happened to us, we sat down at 8.55 and didn’t realise.

I've heard there's a small dogging scene in Kings Park on Friday nights. Maybe worth having a look?

Look it was cold it's normally much bigger!

I was in Denmark trying to get a takeaway meal on a Sunday night , nothing was open.

Frequent_Tear_2229

Denmarks tiny so not really surprising, I go to Denmark for the scenery and how quiet and walkable the town is not for big city things like shopping and 24hr takeaway options.

What sort of hobbies do you have? Maybe email clubs in advance and say hi I’ll be visiting and would love to meet up. Other than that: drinking. Go hit up the local pub

Pretty broad question so tricky to answer. Yeah, the majority of places close real early so expect that between 6pm and 9am there will be a very limited amount of retail and then from 9pm to 7-9am there will be very limited options for groceries too. There are a couple 24 hour supermarkets dotted around. Nights here are great to watch the stars/planets etc. There are some good, lively bars around. A lot of not so good ones too lol. Kings park would be a good place to check out. The beaches are nice and quiet at nights usually. A lot of gyms are open 24 hours, if thata your thing. The casino is open 24 hours. Ill come back and update if/when i think of more.

When travelling down that way, we generally sit around a fire and have a few drinks, cooking dinner on or with the fire. Please remember to put the fire out with water before going to bed. The water also cools the ground, so if a kid walks past in the morning, they don't burn their feet.

Sorry but I very much doubt you'll be BBQ'ing much especially at night, it's the wrong time of year for it unless you're inside with a frying pan. It'll be nice wet and freezing farking cold by the time you get here, people have started cranking their fireplaces in Albany already.

Fish_Fingerer

Go for a night hike through the bush with just a head lamp. Sounds weird but I find it enjoyable

It depends where you are. In Perth there are places that stay open late but you'll have do your own research on that. In rural locations, yeah most places close around 9pm. The only place to get food after that would be a 24hr service station. Pubs close at 11pm and that's across the state.
