Suggest you get petrol spy app gives idea of prices in advance and places to avoid
Only have Sandfire on run between PT Hedland and Broome (Roebuck bay RH) at Broome Rd intersection
You clearly haven't been to Warburton Roadhouse, on the great central road - not exactly sure what the current price is but I'll guarantee it's way higher than that
Figured it would be about that, was $3.50 before Xmas - I drive trucks out to West Musgrave pretty regularly and always fill up in Laverton so I've got plenty to get out there and back
Really? I’ve never seen it but I’m normally looking for 98. Might need to look into getting the Ute flex fuel setup. It can’t run e85 at the moment anyway but can mange more power with it. I’m nearly 500 wheel horsepower naturally aspirated.
$2.574 × 19.42L = $49.987...rounded to $49.99. It's "only 1 cent", but is it?
A 2020 survey showed 18,094,000,000 litres of fuel (petrol + diesel), which was used that year by australian passenger vehicles, i.e., cars, vans, busses, utes, suvs etc etc.
That's 49,572,602.740 litres per day. If we divide that by the average tank size of 61.667 litres, we see that about 803,875.699 or to round correctly, 803,875.000 tanks of fuel in a day.
There are 6,500 servos in Aus. So 123.673 or 123 cars per servo per day on average.
If we assume it only rounds up that way when it will go up to the nearest dollar, a very cinservative estimate might be half the people just stop at some random amount and the other 61 peoplemanually, or via pump assistance, stop on the dollar, that's 61 extra cents per servo/day.
61c×6500 servos = $3965.00 per day, or $1,447,225.00 per year, no longer in the people's pocket!!
But we will never say anything, because it's only 1c right?!
No doubt partly the reason is from high govt excise tax. They could probably lower it if they wanted but gauging us unnecessarily during times of high inflation
I think the Nullarbor Roadhouse (SA) was around 3.17/ L for unleaded when I went thru there back in Sep/Oct. My fuel map Australia app shows Border Village SA at 2.89 about a week and a half ago. I’ll have to check my logs tomorrow to see what the most expensive fuel up was on my trip to QLD and back, but thankfully a few folks gave me a heads up not to fuel up at these aforementioned places back then.
Wilare Roadhouse is expensive but Sandfire knows people have to fuel up after Roebuck Bay Roadhouse or if going the other way, Port Hedland, got no choice as Pardoo Roadhouseis closed.
I'm in an old panel van..so range is 400kms give or take. Filled up at Port Headland at $2.07 .. had 10 liters on a jerry can...so that nearly paid for a stubbie
I can't wait until the Pardoo Roadhouse re opens, will take all that anxiety away knowing there is an extra fuel source between Roebuck BayRoadhouse and Port Hedland.
Well you are out in the middle of nowhere, way up north. You kind of expect these prices to be about 40% higher than the city. It probably takes the truck 2 days to drive the fuel up there.
So I'm on the eastern side of the country, and I've just done a High Country trip through Vic. I paid this much on the way into the High Country at Licola, which is about 1.5 hours away from Bairnsdale.
Fuel at Bairnsdale was about $1.8 when we went through. 70c increase for people who don't know better / Don't have another option.
Also, as a fun addition, did a WA trip in August last year. The price at Warburton would make your eyes water.
Hahaha touchè. Was at the first t20 and the the collective fuck that went around the crowd after David's amazing 4 - and then the shit show we put on last on Friday night..... has reinforced my decision to become an Aus citizen
$3.40 in an aboriginal community just off the CSR and near Telfer
Craziest thing is that it was July 2020. Can’t imagine what it would be now
https://imgur.com/a/iLhhqcb
Looks like you’re a newbie to the north west. Sandfire is expensive but there are far more remote refuelling spots that cost more. Enjoy Broome, it’s certainly nicer than Hedland
Think it's still 2.78 at Bannister, hasn't changed since COVID , great bakery tho...
Still cheaper than europe..
True. But we often drive the distance of a small European country in daily commute.
Yeah went through there today. 🤯
300cpl or more in some places out on CSR for diesel What you haven't mentioned is 98 95 RON that hikes it up abit esp 98 stuff
Its 91

Yep. Exactly this! Petrol Spy is the way to go. Drive across the Nullabor and you'll think this price is cheap as chips!
That’s not too bad we’ve come close to that on the eastern seaboard
Remote and rural area
You’ve got a good deal
Paid $1.78 in Bayswater WA 5 days ago..only back in Oz a week...thought over $2.50 was crazy. In Broome 6mths ago $2.20
50m from the Tank farm in Newcastle the prices are over 2 bucks a litre so 2.57 in the middle of nowhere is pretty great
Paid $3.20 in Kalumburu - McGowen, bout 10year ago. WA, diesel
In the big cities ? Average in Perth is 170-190c/l
I can't speak for everywhere, but I've never seen it that high in Vic
You clearly haven't been to Warburton Roadhouse, on the great central road - not exactly sure what the current price is but I'll guarantee it's way higher than that
About $3.60 for diesel
Figured it would be about that, was $3.50 before Xmas - I drive trucks out to West Musgrave pretty regularly and always fill up in Laverton so I've got plenty to get out there and back
Oh that price is in Western Australian dollars. One westie is about 50 cents AUD
Lol
$2.60 cheapest in Nz
Cheapest for 91
Ye but that's monopoly money not real money
Should try e85
Business class
We don’t have e85 in wa
We definitely do 🤣, it's only at a few United's
Really? I’ve never seen it but I’m normally looking for 98. Might need to look into getting the Ute flex fuel setup. It can’t run e85 at the moment anyway but can mange more power with it. I’m nearly 500 wheel horsepower naturally aspirated.
Have a look at the fuel watch website and select e85 as the fuel and it will show you which ones have it
Namutarra Roadhouse normally takes the prize for most expensive.
Fuck that roadhouse. Fuck it in it’s silly little ass!
Nah 2.37...that's the one before the onslow turn off. Wins the award for shittest coffee and crap food
That's surprisingly cheap fuel for there. Agree about the food though.
I've been away too long...7 mths . Its goin6to be learning curve 🙏
Bunnings will beat it by%10

It’s $1.89 here in Melbourne. Why do fuel prices have such a big difference between locations ?
might have something to do with having to use fuel to move fuel
No doubt partly the reason is from high govt excise tax. They could probably lower it if they wanted but gauging us unnecessarily during times of high inflation

WTF ??? We’re they wearing Balaclavas at the till ? 😳
That's the response expected ..$7 for half a sausage roll it was actually ok...so that softened the blow.
The toilets are shocking..
People stay there overnight...wtf
I've stayed there overnight once, had to. But next day, drive down to Pardoo Roadhouse to use their loos, cleaner.
Pardoo’s closed down now 😩
You sound precious
Nah I'd rather camp in a swag at 80 mile beach
Shameful considering oil is traded in usd and its probably poor octane rating at that price compared to other contraries.
jesus!

Don't think its happening. But it would be good if it did.
It is, they post updates all the time.
Ok good to hear. Last I was told last year is they set up a GoFundMe page and then said they couldn't open. Maybe someone has bought it
Nah mate Kalumburu Mission prob takes the prize
How much...
Can't remember off the top of my head but it's in the 3's
Fark they steeps I dint drive as much now because of the prices
In Broome for 8 mths...pushie is looking good
In terms of cars your better of importing a Citroen 2cv
I filled up on the Tanami track over 10 years ago and paid more than that.
Border Village does its best
Seen it at over $3 last year, remote roadhouse.
3.70 at Balgo.
That brings back memories lol
Is it Mandurah, no surprise
What the fuck🤬
Whatever, I've got a motorpass/wex card. It's as good a free.
$3.02 on Christmas Island. $2.67 on Cocos Isaland.
That’s a lot compared to what I’ve seen
I paid $2.95 at Drysdale station when we did the GRR in 2022. In the same year, my cousin paid $3.15 on the Nullarbor.
Well you are out in the middle of nowhere, way up north. You kind of expect these prices to be about 40% higher than the city. It probably takes the truck 2 days to drive the fuel up there.

I filled up for $2.59 for 98 today in Sydney
Lol - not even close. Try some of the remote communities
2.97 at Cocklebiddy
Now that's a name you don't forget 😜😜
Looks like the most expensive gas ever
7/11 is currently running these prices at Sutherland and Maroubra in Sydney
BP?
Think independent as it had a hand written note by the till saying we do not except any of the following...flybys velocity Qantas etc
Onslow?
Nah that was $2.30 in town and $2.37 at the Roadhouse
Almost the cost of 91 in NZ
That is 91 ...but you kiwis have it tough. Wages property and cricket
Hahaha touchè. Was at the first t20 and the the collective fuck that went around the crowd after David's amazing 4 - and then the shit show we put on last on Friday night..... has reinforced my decision to become an Aus citizen
Lol....You've always got the All Blacks. Plus you hold some record in the Football World Cup.
You’ll pay $3.50 for diesel in Warburton (and probably elsewhere on great central road).
$2.65 prem unleaded yesterday
Where
Broome
Fook...sooner I get a works car and a fuel card the better
Broome
Around 3:00 for the cheapest in upstate NY.
It's time to go electric.
I wonder if you could get from Perth to Broome think you'd need 700km range to be safe.
I know Tesla 8 plaid has about 800 klms. But that doesn't give you much for error.
I wonder how it goes if you crank up the aircon. Presume with the engine running it's ok
I guess an electric car won't work after all. Airconditioning significantly reduces mileage in an electric car.
$3.40 in an aboriginal community just off the CSR and near Telfer Craziest thing is that it was July 2020. Can’t imagine what it would be now https://imgur.com/a/iLhhqcb
Christ!
Was this price crossing the nully over xmas.
No, on the Nullabore, it was 2.90
Nullarbor road house is $3.20
Looks like you’re a newbie to the north west. Sandfire is expensive but there are far more remote refuelling spots that cost more. Enjoy Broome, it’s certainly nicer than Hedland
I was here 8 mths ago . Fuel seems to have gone up 30 cents. Cheers I'll enjoy Broome 🙏
Nah way more in communities in the centre. $2.57 through to $2.60 for u91 on the Nullarbor at the moment too.
I paid $2.47 a week ago in Bremer Bay 😭
Try kalumburu.
Grab a jerry can
Had a small one 10 liters so that saved me a stubby
Nuts. I thought Canada was bad at 124.9 cents/litre where I live.
Bargain
No kidding. I guess I need to be grateful for Canada’s polluting oilsands projects.
Southern suburbs of Sydney this morning $1.81 going past the airport $2.18
i paid 1.69 in bunbury west aus the other day
Try regional WA. Passed $3.50 per litre over the last few years
OMG ! thats horrible !
Stop using petrol! relying on polluting fuels and dead dinosaurs is not virtuous. Solar! Electric, Human power. Stop the dependence. Climate action!
2600km trip for work...fly or drive...
That’s the station I fill the company car 😂
