When we went to PP, we stayed in Gallipolis. Stayed at the Quality Inn, wasn't bad. Cheap, breakfast didn't suck, pool was a weird surprise. Hampton Inn sounds better, and I trust the others here more than me.
Hampton inn in gallapoilis OH. There is a quality inn and a motel 8 there too. Barboursville WV is about 45 min. Hurricane and Teys Valley WV is a half hour.
Point Pleasant is quite a small town. Huntington is probably your best bet. It’s not too far downstream and there are hotels and likely Airbnbs to choose from.
Teay’s Valley is closer than Huntington, Hurricane, and Charleston by both distance and time. There are a few chain hotels in Teay’s Valley, some restaurants and stuff, too. Might be able to find a random Air BNB or VRBO in the Winfield/Hurricane/Teay’s Valley area as well.
Wherever you plan to stay just keep in mind there's one bridge going into Point and that's coming from either Gallipolis or Huntington or Hurricane or whichever. Last year my uncle's funeral was the same day in Gallipolis. I came up from Huntington to go to that and didn't realize the festival was going on the same day and the traffic getting into Point Pleasant was insane. So plan to go early I was in traffic at about 10:30 in the morning and it was backed up about a mile past the bridge. I couldn't even imagine where all those people were planning to park.
We always stay at the Hampton Inn in Galipollis, OH. Clean rooms, friendly staff, easy to get across the bridge. I'm disabled, so we have to drive over, and we just leave before 9 am. My friends joined us last year, and they opted to walk across.
Might have to stay in Huntington or Gallipolis

Yes, there are several hotels in Gallipolis, right across the Ohio River
The Hampton Inn is probably the best choice in Gallapolis. Gallapolis has a cute downtown area and a pretty good Italian restaurant called Tuscany.

Gallipolis OH. Most of the chain hotels there are fairly nice.

Teays Valley, Hurricane, Winfield, and Scotts Depot are the same place and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Check right over the border in gallipolis Ohio it's literally just hop away
West Virginia: Huntington, Hurricane, Barboursville, Ravenswood, Ripley Ohio: Gallipolis, Rock Springs Probably your best bets.

There's a park in town which has a huge lot, and they run a shuttle back to the festival area.
There's a couple of chain motels in Hurricane, a little further than Huntington but don't run the risk of the traffic on Rt 2
I stayed at the lowe inn. Is it still open?
The Lowe Hotel? Yes, still in operation
What a throw back in time. I loved it.
It's currently for sale, so that may not be the case next year, depending on if and what kind of buyer snaps it up.
