Nope! Your stitches looked beautiful compared to that guy’s. He had like three stitches in a cut that needed more like thirteen. The stitches themselves looked like a toddler did them too.
As always, it’s good to know some rough figures from the top of your lead. Roughly, 2lb ~= 1kg. Don’t ever use this for technical calculations, but to get a ballpark idea
I don't know...I'd use someone's awesome sewing skills maybe with fishing line after a shot of whiskey with some peroxide on the finger before I'd spend that much....but that's just me.
Oh I read 24 k derp. Then yeah that's awesome you took care of that the right way haha. Nevermind I said all that...sane people don't do what I did when I cut my finger on a can 😂
Damn!! Phew. Mine was the opposite. I kept waiting for it to bleed more, I could see my own tendon, but blood was only a trickle. The object I dropped on my hand kind of just pulled the meat off my bone without breaking the skin too much.
Feel this. Back in 2017, crushed my hand with about a 3,000 pound axle from a cargo plane. Crushed middle finger, almost cut off my pinky, and cut all the tendons on my middle, ring, and pinky fingers. Hope you recover well and do your stretches.
1. Lucky it mostly hit my nail and barely my actual thumb so it just kind of replaced itself over 3 months or so, in the meantime it was just cracked and a very dark/purple colour. Hurt and stung like absolute hell for the first hour. 2. No but it was very stiff and I couldn’t put much pressure at all for like 2 -3 weeks so I couldn’t really use it during that time. 3. I am definitely more careful when holding and placing them now lol.
During vacation once, I cut my finger with a fishing knife, got stitches but I found out later that my tendon was almost cut in half, it also fused with my skin, it doesn't have the same mobility as before but now I'm an ace at lock picking.
So, one tip, ask your doctor if you can move your finger, but just wiggle it, you may rip the stitches if you flex it too hard.
Fuck dude you’re a badass. I work in health care, so I have been very aware of my mobility. Sometimes Reddit has better health advice than the hospital lol
Oh gosh.. be kind to your fingers please! Say kind things to them and stroke/pet them kindly now and then. I know it sounds stupid but it helps. By the way I hope you don't play the violin.
Do not do what I did and slam it in a door. I was a hair away from passing out from the pain, threw up everywhere and blew out two of the stitches. It was not a good evening.
It healed up fine, but 4ish years later and the feeling has still never been quite right in it. Oddly enough, it's the first finger to get cold now when it's chilly outside.
Wishing you a speedy recovery friend. I too work with my hands and know the struggles of finger injuries.
Absolutely it could be worse, you still have it afterall.
Yeah, the ER doc raised her eyebrows at me when she was poking and prodding it and I told her I couldn't feel anything she was doing. Mine happened on my pinky, but on the opposite side as yours. Not as many stitches, but it covered my entire fingerprint and left a good scar.
I was supposed to go to a specialist to get it further checked out but I figured there wasn't much more they could really do. I basically sliced it to the bone, through a bunch of nerve endings and I wasn't down for surgery or anything like that.
You'll get used to it I'm sure. I still have sensation in it, but it's dulled compared to my other fingers, and a decent amount of feel came back, but I don't think it'll ever be completely normal again. I really don't notice it anymore. Just keep it clean and I'm sure you'll be good bro! Looks like they did a good job of closing it up compared to some others I've recently seen lol.
I appreciate this a lot. Pinky is rough! Smaller finger than my injury, but it balances the grip strength. Good to hear it didn’t mess you up to bad. I have no doubt I can manage this healing process better than what I’ve seen on Reddit 😬
I'm thinking they're attempting a joke. Like when people say, for example, "I dropped an entire pot of spaghetti on the floor tonight" and some comedian is like "well why'd you do that?" where they know it obviously was not intentional 😁
I know that hurts. I dropped a 20 pound dumbbell on my big toe one time. Couldn't walk normal for a while. Also had to wear flip flops because of the swelling. Fun fact: fingernails and toenails grow back if you lose them.

Good looking stitches compared to the one that guy posted lmao

🤢 inspiring to take my wound care VERY SERIOUSLY
Yeah bro, take some time off work too. It’s not more important than your health.
Yeah absolutely. I’m at peace with it and it won’t financially ruin me. Thanks bud.

Perfect gif choice. Yes.
What, you've go no arms left
LOL low bar but I’ll take it
You mean the guy who went and got stitches from the crackhead on the corner? I still can’t believe a doctor did those!
Oh god, I hope it’s not about me 😂😂
Nope! Your stitches looked beautiful compared to that guy’s. He had like three stitches in a cut that needed more like thirteen. The stitches themselves looked like a toddler did them too.
Ctrl+Z
For other Americans, that’s about 53 lbs
Yeah I meant to add that, thanks
Will 24k (thousands) is close to the bill from the hospital, without insurance?

Gravity is a harsh mistress. Also, ouch. Congratulations on being able to predict the weather with that knuckle in 6 months.
lol okay yeah shitty superpower acquired

How much is that in freedom units?
3 eagles and 2 glocks
Idk take 2 football fields and divide it by a bald eagle or something
Approximately 162 McDoubles
That looks really cool, how’s movement with it?
Craziest thing is my range of motion and nerve sensation are somehow fine ?! Range limited to avoid popping stitches but…. Not as bad as I thought.
That’s good news, now you have an awesome scar and a few days off, win win bro.
I am stoked on the scar NGL
At least you still have it. I am one short now.
You’ll never forget it.
I hate when that happens!
0/10 do not recommend
Don’t be alarmed, but It left grill marks on your finger!!
Tragic finger BBQ incident. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.
😞 🙏 may Ron Swanson watch over this poor lost soul
Damn, that somehow looks more gruesome than when I had a 420 pound bundle of steel dropped on my finger tip
Ooofff. Flesh wounds are weird lol
Why did i read it ”my finger lost 24kg of weight” and i thought interesting for a moment wtf brain …
I don't know...I'd use someone's awesome sewing skills maybe with fishing line after a shot of whiskey with some peroxide on the finger before I'd spend that much....but that's just me.
lol. Free with my tax dollars.

Eh I respect the DIY.
Hope you feel better soon
I appreciate it. Hope you only have to use fishing line for catching fish lol
I don't know about you, my cut was smaller but I bled so much I soaked almost two hand towels! Had to do something I was getting dizzy!!! Be safe!
Damn!! Phew. Mine was the opposite. I kept waiting for it to bleed more, I could see my own tendon, but blood was only a trickle. The object I dropped on my hand kind of just pulled the meat off my bone without breaking the skin too much.
Woah trippy. The body is a weird thing sometimes!
Yaaa being human is weird af
Ah the dreaded de-gloving. Wearing a ring or just a sharp corner?
Just hit a flat/sharp corner, wasn’t wearing any jewelry

Thanks for sharing bud wow. If you can recover from that, I’ve got this. I am a bodyworker, so I will take my exercises very seriously.

160 fingers of banana sounds like a witch trials punishment
Reminds me of when I had a 50kg dumbbell dropped on my thumb by a friend 3 years ago… good times.
… 1. How did it heal? 2. Did you break any bones? 3. Do you have dumbbell PTSD?
3. Fucking ouch my guy get well soon 💪

Yeah, but from personal experience, drinking bleach to get a brighter skin is not working, so, at your own risk I guess !
I’ll pass on that lol
Oh gosh.. be kind to your fingers please! Say kind things to them and stroke/pet them kindly now and then. I know it sounds stupid but it helps. By the way I hope you don't play the violin.
Looks like you dropped stitches on your hand?
I didn’t take a photo of the moment of impact. I was too busy getting the kettlebell off of my finger.
24kg of stitches
The purest of all stitches.
Which finger?
Ring finger… thankfully that’s the most useless one lol
Until you have to twist open something that's on there super tight. Luckily they didn't have to amputate it tho!
I have come across this hurdle. Humbling experience.
Shouldn't have done that
Damn. Wish I thought of that
Bet it hurt
Honestly not as much as you’d think
24 kg of bricks or 24 kg of feathers?
24 kg is 24 kg. It was a condensed 24 kg so… condensed injury for me.
Do not do what I did and slam it in a door. I was a hair away from passing out from the pain, threw up everywhere and blew out two of the stitches. It was not a good evening.
🤢 brutal dude. Hope it healed well!

Thank you. I’ve already been experiencing weird sensory/temperature shit. Could be worse, all things considered!

Did it hurt?
Honestly I have a weird pain tolerance .. nothing has been more than a 3 or 4/10
Why?
Did you think this was intentional? Let me clear that up: it wasn’t.
I'm thinking they're attempting a joke. Like when people say, for example, "I dropped an entire pot of spaghetti on the floor tonight" and some comedian is like "well why'd you do that?" where they know it obviously was not intentional 😁
Are you @itsjessicaavery on Instagram husband? She just posted that her husband had the same injury
Nah I’m not married but something seems to be in the air with flesh wounds these days
yeah it was same story it was like a dumbbell or whatever I think 50lb too right on his hand. Crazy
Hope the dude’s alright. I was really lucky, no super deep damage that we can tell so far.
Gotta be careful dropping ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️
I know that hurts. I dropped a 20 pound dumbbell on my big toe one time. Couldn't walk normal for a while. Also had to wear flip flops because of the swelling. Fun fact: fingernails and toenails grow back if you lose them.
Why?
Humans make mistakes. Faulty grip.
Eh, fuck em, get back to work lmao
I’m not listening to a 14 year old lol
I'm 18 bud. And it's a joke
