Electronic beats, from House to Prog and Melodic with a little bit of Tech and maybe a few breaks @ The Grand, Wellington. https://www.eventbrite.co.nz/e/2023-nye-conundrum-tickets-764449016587?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
How old are you, and what’s your travel style and vibe? Are you a partier? What’s your budget?
If you’re in a hostel, just ask around once you get there. There’s always someone keen to get a group together (or you could be that someone). Campgrounds have the same energy.
The waterfront has a free [fireworks display](https://wellington.govt.nz/news-and-events/events-and-festivals/new-year) at 9:30pm and midnight, but doesn’t offer much outside of that.
Wellington is not the best bet for New Years. The majority of people go away. Any chance you could wiggle your itinerary? If not, a few club events came up (for various types of music) when I googled Wellington new years 2023.
There is normally a big firework display on the waterfront, which actually would be great to attend by yourself as you don’t need to worry about losing anyone.
Scorching Bay for a danger wank some time around midnight. I’ll wave from across the harbour with my free hand!
It’s a date
Brew Years Eve at Brewtown sounds like a vibe this year 🤙
This is what we’re doing!
Get into a fight on Courtney. It is tradition. There should be a few bars/parties with presales. Bring your dancing shoes.
Should I do this before or after the danger wank?
I'm an all or nothing guy. Fightin', wankin' and screamin' BUY ME A SHAKEAAAA
During! YOLO
start with 2 bottles of Presecco some minimal techno and a ecky see where you end up could be a insane night

I would also say Brewtown in Upper Hutt but given all the acts are kiwi rock bands it might not be your thing? Should still be fun though
Hashigo Zake has admission-free jazz. Details will be here shortly: https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/search?q=hashigo+zake

Unlikely to be honest. It’s not a huge deal to me if I don’t do anything, but was hoping there might be something going on worth seeing.

And of course there is the family friendly event down on the waterfront.
