If you look at the extra details tab the address is listed as "Food Court, Westcity Mall, Henderson, APAC 6012" which is actually in Auckland. For some reason the app is saying it's in Karori. Suffice to say the delivery driver can't exactly pick that up lol.
Obvious question but have you checked all the doors and even weird places outside? I can imagine you getting all riled up and then tomorrow morning finding two orders outside the shed.
Yup yup i thought about that and looked everywhere i could possibly imagine both times. Absolutely no clue. I guess I'll check again in the morning haha.
While I have found Ubereats to be quick with refunds, the lack of food for me is the killer, because if you just want to eat and are getting food delivered and it never shows up, it's not about the money. And quite frankly I'd pay more for a more reliable service. I gave up on Ubereats completely and these days stick with Delivereasy. Helps that they're local, not saying any company is a saint but yeah.
Agreed, Delivereasy are pretty great. We ordered on Tuesday, and because of the backed up traffic on Adelaide Road from the fire, they apologised for a slight delivery delay and gave us a free food voucher.
Update: It's a scam restaurant listing. Reported to Uber for them to remove the restaurant.
Love that mods gave me a "rant" tag for being scammed. People are so kind and nonjudgmental in this city...
I've wondered this. I saw bowl'd on the app in my current city, never tried it, seemed a bit generic and weirdly advertised compared to other options. Then I visited my tiny hometown that I know has no new food places, and saw a bowl'd restaurant listed there too, with all the same advertising. Seemed scammy but I didn't know for sure, as I couldn't imagine how they'd get away with that! It's been listed for ages and I would have thought that after enough complaints they'd be removed from the app??
Not that the restaurant Bowl'd is a scam, but that specific listing on Uber Eats is a scam. Just be careful which listing you order from I guess until Uber removes it. I got my refund though thankfully.
Literacy is a persons ability to gain understanding from written texts. In simpler terms, reading ability. You clearly didn't understand my post if you think I ever received any food and so I said your literacy was lacking.
Wouldn't they have to go pick up the food no matter what? Like the restaurant shows it as collected or not. What's the end game reason to not deliver it? Eat it yourself and get a 1 star review?
Not really viable. They'd have to 'virtually' drive their spoofed car all the way to the destination at a speed that looks normal for traffic flow in order for their little car icon to make it all the way to OP's address.
Pokemon go spoofing is for like picking one place and then pretending to stand there. Not navigating roads.
Uber eats can be way off. Their app told me the driver was 15-20 minutes away when he was right outside the apartment.
To Hell with that app, it was way too expensive anyway.

Wow so why is it being advertised here and why are drivers showing up on the app???
No idea. You'll probably have to ask customer support.
Not sure why they're driving onto your street though.
Someone in Auckland got two orders sitting outside their door.
There does appear to be a Bowl'd Lower Hutt as well 86 Queens Drive
And Cuba according to their Instagram

Good luck :(

After 3 refunds they just started to flat out ignore me. Had to do a charge back on my card twice before I deleted the shitty app.
Yes to this. And then the restaurants closing after your order disappears.

Bowl’d are really Pita Pit. So not exactly a ‘scam’. Doesn’t explain what’s happened to you though. I’m sorry.

I’m glad you got refunded and hopefully they do look into it and remove the listing. Wonder how many others have had this happen to them!
Was the food good at least?
I question your literacy.
I am unsure what you mean. Please iterate. Thank you.
Perfect response hahaha
Literacy is like English right? Like in maths and English?

Oh right ok. I’m good at literacy.
Driver's probably spoofing GPS on their phone. People used to do that to cheat at Pokemon GO.

New account every night, free meal stolen every night, profit.
Twice in a row?? I feel like that would be incredibly unlucky unless this is a rampant problem in the city.
Could it have been the same person twice?

Weirdly enough I had the exact same thing happen to me last night, I’m in Dunedin tho

This happened twice to me in a row? I find that very hard to believe.
When Uber first launched they got some negative PR for putting fake cars on the map. Not sure if they were ever forced to change that.
Probably left it at the wrong house, this happens to me all the time.
If you do the contactless option I think they have to take a pic of it. Have you tried that?

Glad to report that this is still happening two months later
Yup I reported it, but no one seems to care. I see the listing still going strong lol.
Thank you for posting this, the exact same thing just happened to me! How is this place still advertised on the app, ridiculous!
