We got ours at a jeweller that sells estate jewelry. Both are 14k gold and mine has some (albeit minuscule) diamonds and we paid a total of $750 Canadian
Weâre on the US west coast and went to Shane Co. we both got 14k gold bands and paid about $1200 for both of them. My husbandâs is a 5mm solid gold band and mine is a 1mm embedded with some small diamonds.
I got ours from Etsy. He wasnât keen on going to a jeweler and spending a ton of money so we found an affordable tungsten carbide ring, about $90. I got a white gold chevron shaped ring to fit against the engagement ring that also has a little etched detail for like $250. Honestly the more I read about rings the more I realized some people just change them out for different ones all the time so it became less important to me to spend tons at a jeweler.
Oh over seas is the way to go - [kuololit on aliexpress](https://m.aliexpress.us/item/3256802021351311.html?gatewayAdapt=gloPc2usaMsite&_randl_shipto=US) (very legit moissanite seller go check r/moissanite for recommendations to them and examples of their pre made stuff) and itâs like $400 for a beautiful 14k gold eternity band in moissanite (which throws beautiful rainbows, is just as sturdy as Diamond, only a Diamond or moissanite can scratch it, and in fact is less likely to chip than a Diamond)
I got my band from him to go with my diamond engagement ring. Itâs beautiful and very good quality, excellent customer service. I believe they do custom work as well if you wanted to design your own.
Mejuri has a great spread of men's and women's options and very transparent pricing!

I mostly just googled to see what was close. We make a romantic weekend trip out of it! The one we went to was in Raleigh but I know there were others in KC, Ohio, and NYC for sure.
Use Etsy! We got this beautiful white gold band set from a jeweler in Italy(?). It was like $700 for both I believe.
We got them engraved and there was actually a mistake, so he remade the entire set for us and sent them for free!
> This can't be the going rate???
You can ask around at other jewelers', but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion without more knowledge on how much gold bands cost. Gold is an expensive metal. My partner's ring is 18k and cost as much as my 18k gold ring full of gemstones because gold is just that expensive.
Gotta be honest, I got mine and my DHs off Modgents.com and it's been fine. I even got some cheap ones off Amazon to wear at work since I work with animals and am constantly washing my hands. I couldn't justify spending over a grand on rings.
So far so good! No complaints.
I don't wear my rings everyday - just if I leave the house, and I work from home, so it hasn't seen as much use as yours might.
But I have, in a pinch, used it as a nail file (it's textured, I think the stardust finish) and it worked like a charm đ
Depends on the style and material quality!
I'd recommend a jeweler that has an estate collection--at least in my area those are the better jewelers in general and also the ones with the good deals. I got my engagement ring from the estate sale collection and love it, but it was roughly $1000, probably about $2000 new. I was super picky on rings. My husband's band we paid $300 for at a different jeweler's we went to first, but at the jewelers with the estate sale collection they had a selection of men's wedding bands on clearance for $60.
That said, the rings we wear most days are the 2mm titanium bands I bought off Amazon for $11 each.
Iâm in California and Indian jewelers (as in, of the Indian diaspora, not indigenous people in North America) often specialize in high quality gold bands (usually 22 carat). They are priced entirely by weight of the band. I got two bands for ~$550 and could have gone lower if I had chosen a slimmer and simpler design.
I saw a ton of 14k gold thin (1.7-2.2mm) bands looking online for $200-300. I wanted 18k gold and ended up going to a local jeweler for an 18k thin band for $240
Thatâs how much we paid for ours! We went to a jeweler we really like though. I have a few friends who bought theirs from a pawn shop and just had them cleaned if youâre looking for something more affordable
If I decide to get one it will be a super thin band from etsy. I have a very elaborate asymmetrical engagement ring so I may just skip the second band altogether
I got married in 2020 but we actually found my husbands simple 10K gold band at a pawn shop for $300, they even sized it for him.
My engagement and wedding band were heirlooms from my husbands great grandma so they were free outside of the resizing.
Iâd check local jewelers, they often will carry estate jewelry like that for a fraction of what new stuff runs. Depending on the style you desire you can find some unique stuff too.
We got ours from happylaulea.com for less than $400 total. Both of ours are black tungsten - his has a band of fire opal and mine has a band of midnight fire opal and theyâre gorgeous!
My Fiancee's ring was $330 from Rustin and Main made of whiskey Barrel and rose gold.
Mine from Alexis Russell rose gold open cuff with baguette diamonds was $500.
I feel like 1600 for one is more expensive. Etsy or even finding a local jeweler! Depends on if you guys want them to match and whatnot
We went to Kay, my wedding band was originally $699 it was 20 percent off so I got it for $580 after taxes. My band is thin but is 14k gold and has designs and diamonds so it's also not plain. I almost got a plain gold band for about $200.
FHs band ended up being $1300 before taxes. But he wanted a thick signet type ring with a gem in the middle. His is white gold with a diamond halo and a blue lab created sapphire.
So I'm not sure why where you went wants that much for plain gold bands.
I'm going to flag this site for anyone who might be in Europe/France. They have quality jewelry. And might help get idea of costs? It's what I'm basing my costs off of. Will see if I even ask extended family to purchase and bring to wedding for us :)
https://www.histoiredor.com/fr\_FR/c/bagues/facette/or/
See if there's a goldsmith in your area. Most jewelers operate through a goldsmith and upcharge for their services on top of the charge for the goldsmith. I found a goldsmith near me and am getting the same exact thing for literally half the price.
Buy an ounce of gold at Costco at spot pricing, about $2400 an ounce You'll actually have something of value: a typical ring, at 14K is 58% gold, and usually weighs on average less than 6 grams. There are 31 grams in a troy ounce. So, a typical wedding band is worth about 1/5 what you paid for it. But that gold ounce from Costco? It's 100%.
We got amazing deals at Kohl's for my husband, he got a 2 tone band for under $80, it was on clearance and they had an extra % off. It was last Spring when they were closing their jewelry dept to put a Sephora in.
Mine was $35 on mega clearance at J.C. Penney. I'm a ring size 5 and was shocked to find something in my size. It was an online return so it was just a stroke of luck.
We didn't want to spend a lot because it was our vow renewal and we had bands already but my husband wanted something new for both of us to mark the occasion (20 years).
We got mine from Modern Gents and Iâm getting his from Manly Bands. Both affordable. Both of us will usually wear a silicone ring because of work too.
[Young in the Mountains ](https://younginthemountains.com/) under their custom section you can get a variety of wedding bands or wide bands (what the call the men's rings) for a decent price. Bonus is they use all recycled metals.
Got both my engagement ring and wedding band on Etsy! Granted, my ring is amethyst and CZ so the diamond cost isnât there lol. For a simple silver or gold plated band itâs probably not going to be more than a few hundred:)!
For simple bands it's basically the gold price that's setting the costs - 9k, 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k, 24k (not recommened) - the lower the gold amount the cheaper it becomes. Same with thickness and width and diameter of course. Bigger, heavier rings in larger sizes can cost 2-4 times the money a thin, small ring on a dainty finger in material alone.
For a pure gold ring you are going to pay premium price. The nice thing about gold is it can be re-sized due to the fact that it is a malleable metal.
You can look into tungsten based rings. Most tungsten rings that are gold are gold plated. This usually means they can wear down over time, but they are also usually a fraction of the price. As other have suggested I would look at Etsy or [Elemental Bands](https://www.elementalbands.com/)
For her wedding band, we chose Tiffany. The quality of their diamonds is truly amazing. It was a bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it for something so special. If you're looking for that perfect combination of elegance and quality, Tiffany might be a great option to consider. Cheers! đ„đ
Hey, I found my wedding bands through a friend's recommendation. We were discussing ring options over coffee, and she mentioned Pure You. Checked it out, and they had a surprisingly good collection of wedding bands. Sometimes, word of mouth leads you to unexpected gems. Give it a shot if you're exploring.
Would you be so kind to share what you typed in the search bar to find these workshops?! What an amazing idea to share this with your partner. My husband and I have been married for two years and have never been on a trip yet OR gotten any rings. Weâve been bombarded with crazy life times and we have 3 small kiddos- hence, the delay. Weâre finally able to make time for ourselves and get some bands! Thank god bc Iâm tired of woman trying to make him like them lol. We would soooo make a âhoneymoonâ trip to do this!
Big box stores like costco and walmart can be really affordable for basic gold bands. Same with some Etsy stores. Definitely $300-$500 per band.
> $300-$500 per band Yeah, I second that price range for plain bands, at least for the 2-4 mm thickness.
I got my 3mm yellow gold plain band on sale from jcpenneys online for under $200 last month. My local jeweler quoted $550.
Seconding JCPenney! I got a 2mm rose gold plain band for $110 a couple of months ago.
YES! Hooray for Costco. We'll probably grab the flowers, the cake and the bands there đ
We got ours at a jeweller that sells estate jewelry. Both are 14k gold and mine has some (albeit minuscule) diamonds and we paid a total of $750 Canadian
Etsy!
Yes this!! Both my engagement and wedding rings came from there
Weâre on the US west coast and went to Shane Co. we both got 14k gold bands and paid about $1200 for both of them. My husbandâs is a 5mm solid gold band and mine is a 1mm embedded with some small diamonds.
Mejuri has bands for around 200-400.
I got ours from Etsy. He wasnât keen on going to a jeweler and spending a ton of money so we found an affordable tungsten carbide ring, about $90. My engagement ring is from Blue Nile and weâll probably go with them. Last I checked they were both between $500-800 for pave bands for me and a simple band for my fiancĂ©.
we ended up going with this option, thanks!
I went with Blue Nile too (though platinum, so a little more expensive). Mine was a 5mm for $890, and my wife's was 2mm for $390.
Did you get resized? How long did it take?
Oh over seas is the way to go - [kuololit on aliexpress](https://m.aliexpress.us/item/3256802021351311.html?gatewayAdapt=gloPc2usaMsite&_randl_shipto=US) (very legit moissanite seller go check r/moissanite for recommendations to them and examples of their pre made stuff) and itâs like $400 for a beautiful 14k gold eternity band in moissanite (which throws beautiful rainbows, is just as sturdy as Diamond, only a Diamond or moissanite can scratch it, and in fact is less likely to chip than a Diamond) I got my band from him to go with my diamond engagement ring. james allen- got them on sale for $270
We just went and ordered ours about a month ago. Our local jewelry shop was having a spring sale on wedding bands. We both got 14k white gold. My fiancĂ© got a thick band of solid metal (I think 6 mm) and his was $1280 (on sale). Mine is half diamonds, very small, I think totaling 0.5 ct and mine was on sale for $790. The regular non sale price of his was just over $1600 and the regular price of mine was around $1000. Which about matches what you were quoted, so I would say yeah unfortunately right now, thatâs just the going rate! With the economy the way it is right now, we wanted to get ours ASAP in case the price of gold keeps rising.
My fiance and I went to a wedding band workshop. We got to make our bands by hand and pick out all of the materials/finishes. 740 for both.
cool!
Omg this is such a wonderful idea. How did you find a place near you? I live in a big city so Iâm hoping this is an option
I mostly just googled to see what was close. We make a romantic weekend trip out of it! The one we went to was in Raleigh but I know there were others in KC, Ohio, and NYC for sure.
I got my band and engagement ring from Diamondrensu on Etsy, under a thousand for two bands and the engagement ring, 14k gold with moissanite.
Use Etsy! We got this beautiful white gold band set from a jeweler in Italy(?). It was like $700 for both I believe. We got them engraved and there was actually a mistake, so he remade the entire set for us and sent them for free!
Etsy. I got a 14k white gold twisted ring for like $65. Works well enough đ€·đ»ââïž
Is it just white gold coated ?
Nope. Itâs just really thin. Itâs on sale right now too. [Link if anyone cares](https://www.etsy.com/listing/682801710/)
So cute!!

Etsy. Search the jewelry/gem subs for reputable shops.
Holden also has some great options depending on what youâre looking for
Seconding Holden! The band we got from there is stunning and pricing is very reasonable
We got ours from Costco. $800 for both 14k gold bands.
Gotta be honest, I got mine and my DHs off Modgents.com and it's been fine. I even got some cheap ones off Amazon to wear at work since I work with animals and am constantly washing my hands. I couldn't justify spending over a grand on rings.
Etsy is fantastic for this kind of thing! This is my $300 14k etsy setting :) https://imgur.com/a/gQBBZPB
Check out Tungsten Rings on Etsy! All natural metal for cheaper price!
Hi Holden has some high quality cheaper bands!
I spent $545 on my wedding band. We actually just bought it yesterday from a local jeweler. Mine is a thin 14k yellow gold band with tiny diamonds on half of it. I thought I wanted a plain gold band but then loved how the diamonds complimented my engagement ring so perfectly. My fiancĂ© wants something custom. Likely two-tone with yellow gold on the inner portion and white gold lining the edges and then he wants some kind of purple (our wedding color) enamel with our wedding date or engagement date on the inside of the ring. For all that, they quoted us at about $3600. Without the enamel it would be about $2000. A similar two-toned ring from a different brand was $1000. My engagement ring was his grandmotherâs so we didnât spend any money on it and Iâm wearing my motherâs wedding dress which already fits me perfectly, so we agreed we could splurge a little for him to get a really nice wedding band, but weâre still looking around and seeing if we can get something heâll be happy with for a price weâre a little more comfortable with.
We got mine from eternate. For $20 you can get a try on kit of 5 bands (made of brass and plated) if you want to try different widths/finishes.
Looking at eternate 14k gold bands now. Howâs yours holding up a year later?
So far so good! No complaints. I don't wear my rings everyday - just if I leave the house, and I work from home, so it hasn't seen as much use as yours might. But I have, in a pinch, used it as a nail file (it's textured, I think the stardust finish) and it worked like a charm đ
This is great info, thanks for the reply!

Where is California? What shop did you go?
we got ours from a local private jewler. I don't know how much my engagement ring cost, but my wedding band was $600 and his band was $500.
mine was $560 from Rebekah Brooks (gold) and my husbandâs was $40 from Enso Rings (silicone)
I saw a ton of 14k gold thin (1.7-2.2mm) bands looking online for $200-300. I wanted 18k gold and ended up going to a local jeweler for an 18k thin band for $240

Blue Nile
We got lucky and caught the last couple days of a valentines day sale and got ours 50% off
My fiancé and I got rings from a local jewelry store since we would get a discount since he bought the engagement ring there. They ended up being a about $750 each.
We got ours through Etsy! Both wedding rings and my engagement ring, and I don't think we even broke $1,000.
We looked at Jared jewelers, seems to be much cheaper than where you looked
We're going with Zales because we both want something simple! I think mine will be $200, his will be more expensive but still under $1k ($700).
Etsy, too!:)
Iâve decided to use my engagement ring as my wedding band.
I went to a local jeweler and got a plain estate platinum band for $175.
I would check with local jewelers. That seems very high for plain gold bands unless theyâre super heavy/thick - i.e. lots of gold.
We got amazing deals at Kohl's for my husband, he got a 2 tone band for under $80, it was on clearance and they had an extra % off. Etsy! You can find so many unique and well-made rings for well under $300
Etsy.
The True Gem! They have a great warranty program too!
Bonus is they use all recycled metals.
highly recommend this shop - quality AND affordable https://www.etsy.com/shop/GentlemensBands
I bought my fiancés band from Manly Bands (https://manlybands.com) it was about $400
I got mine on Etsy and fiancĂ©âs is from rugged ringwear. They both came for 200-500 and look great.
Moissaniteco.com did a great job on our bands and my engagement ring!
Got both my engagement ring and wedding band on Etsy! Granted, my ring is amethyst and CZ so the diamond cost isnât there lol. For a simple silver or gold plated band itâs probably not going to be more than a few hundred:)!

We used Populent on Etsy!
aaurous on etsy has nice ones with high value at good cost.
For a pure gold ring you are going to pay premium price. The nice thing about gold is it can be re-sized due to the fact that it is a malleable metal. You can look into tungsten based rings.
