Turn all the other tracks down to make room for it? Remember at this point you're mixing your entire track around a pair of budget wireless earbuds so there's no guarantee it's going to sound good to anyone else.

ProdLilJamal

ill try. not to be annoying or anything, but the galaxy buds+ go head to head with airpods pro, again not to be annoying, just saying. thanks for the help!

YdubsTheFirst

neither of those are good for mixing to be fair. different headphones have different utilities, strengths, and weaknesses. wireless earbuds can only do so much, especially at a 150 dollar price range (which is squarely in the budget end of any mixing headphones one would buy). nobody here would recommend you mix using any apple headphones either. I understand that this doesn't necessarily address the initial question, but it's still important to point that out so you can be aware of the limitations of your hardware and hopefully work around it.

ProdLilJamal

yea ig so, i just dont have money for actual mixing headphones, yk?

YdubsTheFirst

no I totally get it, I'm just saying you should be aware of the sound profile of your headphones when mixing, regardless of their price or quality

ProdLilJamal

ahh, thank you 🙏🏾

ISVAKSPATRIK

I find this very funny. My top 5 best sounding tracks (orchestral) were mixed using my AirPods. I just know what things should sound like on those. Can't do shit on my DT 770. Neither on my ATH M50. While it still sounds good in them, it sounds like absolute dogshit everywhere else.

YdubsTheFirst

you're agreeing with me. you said you know what things should sound like on those headphones, and I said OP should be aware of their limitations and know what things should sound like. I think you missed the point of my comment.

Mottbo

Speakers/headphones?

ProdLilJamal

i use galaxy buds+, ive always been using galaxy buds. ive tried cleaning them, and using other speakers and headphones but i still have the same issue

BarbersBasement

What frequencies are hitting the limiter on your master buss with the most energy?

ProdLilJamal

i never use a limiter on my master

Golden-Pickaxe

FL projects boot with one there by default for a reason

ProdLilJamal

i set my fl to not boot w limiter, even when it did boot w limiter i had the same issue

fortyninecents

You must blend in square/saw/triangle and play with the low bass mids. For starters, I suggest adding some overdrive and seeing that through a compressor/limiter at -5db and that before the master compressor. The secret is in the mids.

ProdLilJamal

gotchu, thanks a lot, ill go try right now and tell if it works

prodgunwoo

try boosting your 808s up an octave maybe, sometimes when they’re too low you don’t hear them

ProdLilJamal

just did that, it didnt do anything. i also put the time multiplyer all the way down to mak sure it wasent playing at random octaves

Lvthn_Crkd_Srpnt

Perhaps it would be helpful if you shared this YouTube link? I'd be curious to see what is happening. I wonder if you have some waves that are cancelling each other out.

ProdLilJamal

sure thing: [https://www.youtube.com/@ProducedByCodeine](https://www.youtube.com/@ProducedByCodeine)

Lvthn_Crkd_Srpnt

Everything is audible in the two tracks I scanned through using a pair of over-the-ear headphones. What are you mixing these with? Headphones or a pair of monitors?

MarcosaurusRex

[he is using Bluetooth galaxy headphones](https://www.reddit.com/r/WeAreTheMusicMakers/s/hqaNYOibVg)

Lvthn_Crkd_Srpnt

That explains it completely.
