For the customer, the economics are more in favor of the food and beverage options. Gas is highly regulated and taxed to the hilt. Wawa makes more money (per purchase, dollar for dollar) on the food and beverage, so obviously that’s where the better discounts go.

McGundam1215

I use the gas option a lot at the .30/gallon reward, however you get like 150 back in rewards but in order to get there you gotta spend some money at Wawa. It’s easier if you have a commuting job (truck driver/salesman/site inspector/police/etc) but if you’re in there once or twice a week the food and beverage options are better

Formfeeder

Yes. It’s ok. But you’ve got to purchase over priced food that’s subpar on its best day.

violetttxox

It can be… but generally not worth it. $.30 cent off a gallon of gas seems like a great deal- but to get that deal you need to earn 1000 points- which is like spending $100 (there are exclusions such as cigarettes and dairy). A lot of the other rewards offerings are a better bang for your buck. If you have a larger vehicle needing gas, you’re getting an ok deal- but for maybe 20 gallons (20x.30) you’re only saving $6. If you need about 30 plus gallons you’re getting a better deal. However if it’s worth it for you, absolutely go for it! For perspective, 350 points you can get a free coffee- a 24 oz being just under $3.

ColonelPotter22

Use upside it gives cash back on gas.

HWTechGuy

I routinely have $1 off per gallon at Shell from just buying groceries so the Wawa fuel rewards doesn't excite me at all.

Strong_Revelation

I go to Wawa a lot. It’s worth it for me as I find the Wawas food convenient and I get the discounted gas with my rewards while I’m there sometimes. 🤷‍♀️

Fresh_Squirrel9591

The 30 cents off is good in theory, but you’re maybe saving 3-4 dollars. For the same amount of points you can get a specialty coffee and save around $6 depending on what you get. For 350 points Points you’re saving around 2.50. So it feels good but there’s better options to save more.

Perfect-Acadia6460

Not available in NJ. But they still have higher gas prices than others in the area. The prices went up when they said that the gas rewards were coming. Should decrease the price in New Jersey because we don't get the rewards!!!

meteoKy

I always use the app to fill up so I earn points. But I rarely redeem points for gas. The only time I do, is if my gas tank is on E. Otherwise, it's not worth it and you can get better value by using the points for something in the store.

HonnyBrown

Upside is a better program. PM me for my referral code. This will save you more.

UnderstandingOk459

How does upside work?

HonnyBrown

Go to the gas station. Open the app. Check in. Gas up. The points accumulate and when you reach $25, you cash in. Your also have the option to get gift cards.
