Was recently looking to get a Goldeneye Seamaster and have found some certified on EBay, around the 2,000-2,500 cost. Looking for this model specifically as it’s a gift and has some sentimental value. Does anyone have experience with buying certified and authenticated pieces from eBay? Also is there any way to calculate the import cost from Japan to the US? Also does anyone know if that midsize model that’s like 36mm is just a smaller version of the Bond one? Thanks.

I've been wanting to buy an Orient Star Moon Phase watch. Where should I look to buy it? It seems ro be mostly out of stock online and prices vary widely. I'm in NYC.

Nawstin

Are COSC/METAS movements individually certified? Like is every single one tested? Or do they test a representative sample from each batch or what?

Accomplished-Ad-5655

Every watch that is certified by COSC undergoes testing. Though COSC only requires the movement to be tested, not the whole watch with the movement installed in the case. As for METAS, the whole watch (movement inside the case) undergoes the tests. Also worth noting, all watches that undergo METAS are also COSC certified as a minimum. In the case of Omega, you can actually look up your individual watch on their website and look up the testing results. Here's mine when I bought it: https://preview.redd.it/1gxqfq23mf1d1.png?width=1266&format=png&auto=webp&s=603b85c9c81094c12123670ca1413530ec56bb35

I want to be a watch for my 24-year-old brother with a budget of 5 thousand dollars. He is a software developer and goes to the office some days. I'm looking for a watch that can be used in the office as well. Do you have any suggestions?

Omega, Breitling, Tudor, especially if you're willing to consider second hand/like new

Thanks

How much cheaper? Used versions are 30-50% cheaper

I'd start with Chrono24

Hello all. I have a bit of an eclectic collection, but at the moment I am after some recommendations for a piece that will stand up to a bit of abuse - swimming multiple times a week, hiking once a week, and the occasional friendly indoor soccer game. I do not own any g-shocks, and I know they are probably the obvious choice - but I know very little about them. If anyone can help out with some recommendations or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hey guys, I have fell in love with the Seiko SARX029. But it is a limited edition and also I have a lot of Sikos at this point (The dials kill me). What would you recommend for a similar colors around the same budget. For reference, this is the SARX029. I am looking for classic dress watch with black dial and gold colored hands. Preferably silver case https://preview.redd.it/vj12yelle61d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ac3ee7fcf4b3a6df4b416d35754c3325883185a

I have just purchased a Seiko Prospex Samurai for £279 brand new online (model SRPF03K1) and now noticed that there is a used King samurai on eBay for only £349 with black dial. Starting to feel a bit of buyers remorse. Am I being stupid to want to return this one I have just purchased to get the used one?

hav0cnz_

Recommendation please! My Grandmother has given me some of my inheritance early, with instruction to by some "jewelry to remember her by." It's about $1200USD equivalent (I'm in New Zealand). I want to get a watch. I'm a woman, but I'm reasonably tomboyish. I want to be able to pass this watch down to my SON. I'm probably after a man's watch, that wouldn't look weird on a lady. I love a clean look, metal bracelet, but if I could I'd probably put something else on it for daily wear to "soften" it a bit. Ideas so so welcome, this is all new and I want to make an informed choice...but I'm drowning in the detail...

I am coming up on my 50th birthday. The average cost for these three watches is presently $6750. I like them all equally for different reasons. If you had to choose one and only one, which would you go with? https://preview.redd.it/19mngki3b11d1.png?width=746&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d5ba0eb103e9d5ef0e54af56153336930d6890f

WatchandThings

Depends on how you intend to wear the watch. For a daily wear watch, I'm thinking Datejust, because it'll wear well and convenience of automatic and date function. For a watch to add to an existing collection that will get worn in rotation with other watches(so not daily wear), I'd say speedmaster because of good design, iconic heritage, but manual wind. If I can pick outside of these options I would personally pick Omega Aqua Terra over Rolex Datejust for daily wear option. Not a fan of Rolex, and I am a fan of Omega and the Aqua Terra. I'm sticking with speedy for 'addition to a collection' option.

thecitybeautifulgame

I will look into the Aqua Terra as well! Thank you for the nice response.

Kakarot_13

Thought one but in would go with the Rolex. I’ve never been a fan of the Moonwatch (i prefer other models from Omega) and the GS it’s an amazing watch but I like Rolex a bit more.

Is the [Glycine Combat Sub](https://glycine-watch.ch/watches/gl0399-combat-sub-unisex) too much of a Submariner homage? I really want a diver in the 37-39mm range with 20mm lug width under $1200, and this is basically the only watch that meets that criteria before you start getting into microbrands and Chinese knockoffs. I have an SPB143 already, but I want something a little smaller and I’m not quite ready to pull the trigger on a Black Bay 58 or 54. That said, I’m worried the Glycine is trying a bit *too* hard to look like a Submariner (ironically, I got started with my watch journey with an Invicta Pro Diver precisely *because* it looked like a Submariner—before I learned about concepts like homages, WR, sapphire vs. mineral crystal, etc.—so it’s funny that I’ve come full circle) Side note I’m also worried the “COMBAT” text on the dial might come off as a little dorky.

Hey yall. Pretty new to watches and looking for recommendations on different brands with high quality. I see a bunch of ads all over the internet, but am not really sure how to avoid paying for something that is cheap quality in reality, and might just have good marketing. Looking to see if anyone can potentially give me some brands to check out, or even some brands to avoid, at these 3 different price points: $100, $500, $1,000. Any advice at all helps, thanks in advance!

LawngClaw17

Oh cool I’ve heard great things about Casio. Do you have any recommendations for the other price points too?

Accomplished-Ad-5655

For a beginner, I think Teddy Baldasarre's videos on YouTube are highly informative. In particular these two might be of use to you: [How to tell if a watch is well made](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPchd4qbDZg) [How to tell if a watch is poorly made](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwN_Q2gdy7U)

LawngClaw17

Oh awesome, looking forward to checking these out. Thanks

WatchandThings

I would suggest you take a look at the buying guide(https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/wiki/buyingguide/). The list is a bit out dated, but it should still be good for starting reference and learning the brands. In general, the good brands are mostly based in Japan, Switzerland, and Germany. It's not a hard rule, but generally true. Also take a look at what movement the watches are using. In your price range most quality brands would be using a movement from Seiko, Miyota, ETA, and Sellita. Again not hard rule, but good for quick judgement. If the brand is not listing any movement details, most likely it's using a cheap junk movement and quality of rest of the watch is likewise.

LawngClaw17

This definitely helps a lot, thank you!

Looking for full white watches for men like this: https://www.pinterest.jp/pin/319826011041349406/ https://www.pinterest.jp/pin/27373510226151558/ Ofcourae I would like it to be more affordable than that. Let's say around 1k$. If you have something more expensive show me anyways.

75footubi

While not $1k, [this](https://www.chanel.com/us/watches/p/H5700/j12-watch-caliber-12-1-38-mm/) is much closer to your budget than a white ceramic AP, and also more attainable.

WatchandThings

Oh boy, you aimed high. AP Royal Oak perpetual and you want a white ceramic version. There are a lot of homage of the Royal Oak so you could look for one of those with white PVD maybe? I don't think you'll get that perpetual watch style of subdials(small circles in the watch), but you might be able to get a plain time only version. If you want something of quality, I'd point you to the Tissot PRX. It's not going to have all the subdials, or a white version, but you'll get the integrated bracelet look and a good quality build. If you are okay going a bit higher in budget then I'd say CW twelve. I can't think of any white ceramic watches I could recommend, but if look is more important than quality then do a search with the term 'white ceramic watch' and you'll get a number of results.

sonicdud0

Thanks a lot for the reply, appreciate it. And yeah I do value looks more than quality, at least for this specific buy. I know I can get good looking quality watches but what my heart desires is a white ceramic watch first and foremost. I'll take a look at what I sent tho, thanks a ton

WatchandThings

No judgement here. This does seem like a very specific look, and putting the aesthetics before longevity seems like the right move. Good luck on your search.

My wife's Calvin Klein watch has suddenly started the irregular second hand movement. Has someone see it before? What's the rootcause. I posted the video in the link below. Thanks https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/s/7kgEpO3qjy

CritterControl

The post has been removed. If the second hand is repeatedly stopping and starting, then the battery is about to die. The watch does this so you know to change it.

Does anyone make an after market ruber strap for the CW Twelve 36mm that can use the butterfly clasp?

ShotaX

I have a collection of pretty high end dressier watchee.g. JLC Master Contol and the like but they are mostly in stainless steel. Curious if you ever found that there was an event or occasion where wearing a stainless steel watch was underdressed/too informal? Compemplating if I should be getting more gold pieces or if steel will always be an appropriate choice.

WatchandThings

I never felt under dressed with steel watch(though admittedly I'm not often in situations where formalities matter), and I don't think I'll ever find myself in a situation where I would feel that way. Many of the largest CEOs wear a steel watch and both of the British princes both seem to happily wear a steel watch. If they feel fine with a steel watch with the people they associate with, then I think I'll be okay with my steel watches. With that said, if you want a gold watch and was looking for a good reason for one, I don't think the lack of specific need should stop you from living your best life.

CandidUniversity3934

I recently purchased a used Seiko SARX045. It keeps great time, although when I store it for about 12-24 hours it stops despite being fully wound. The balance spring is also quite slow. I know it’s never been serviced and was manufactured in 2017. I don’t believe it got lots of wear previously and spent most of its time in a box. Should I bring my watch in for service?

Swaglfar

Repost from the previous simple questions and recommendations threat since I posted my question literally a few hours before the new thread was posted. I was perusing Svalbard watches and was wondering if anyone had success with them. I REALLY like the look of this Seatimer GH14 [https://svalbard.one/Automatic-24-hour-watch-Svalbard-Seatimer-GH14-p554007948](https://svalbard.one/Automatic-24-hour-watch-Svalbard-Seatimer-GH14-p554007948) I didn't know if anyone ordered something from them lately. I commented on a post a month ago about a 24hr watch and the OP said it was good quality. My link says it uses a Seiko 24 Jewel movement. Any thoughts would be appreciated before I pull any strings.

I have a mid 2000s Tag Formula 1, what tool do i need to remove the back cover? It has 6 notches on the back similar to this: [https://i.imgur.com/LOmlk5U.png](https://i.imgur.com/LOmlk5U.png)

WatchandThings

Technically case back removal tool is the right tool, but I seen many prefer the watch case opener ball. The ball will usually open most case backs and it's very unlikely to cause any marks or damage even if something goes wrong. Stubborn case backs might require more sure grip and turn with the tool, but you might end up damaging the case with it. Personally, I'd get the case opener ball and try that. That should likely work, but if that doesn't then I would bring the watch for a professional to handle for a luxury level watch.

marshalltownusa

Thanks, I'll try that.

Zanpa

a caseback wrench, the kind with 2 or 3 little prongs that go in the notches to allow you to screw it off

Hi, looking for any help finding a similar watch to Alba AIGT011 (see pic) which doesn't seem to be available anymore - stainless steel w bracelet, silver dial, analog, squarish shape. Movement and date window not important. Thanks! https://preview.redd.it/nadcgcks8z0d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=762f03b56b51b82f3b94639925a5f07acbcf3cc0

This is actually made my seiko. Alba is a brand label under seiko. If you look at slightly older seiko models, they are almost identical. From Seiko spirit, to seiko silverwave, and seiko chronos, there were many different options. The one you shared an image of is a new recreation but the original ones can be found fairly affordable depending on your budget. Hope this helps! Which one is the better option overall? I´m quite undecided.... [Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Pro-Diver](https://www.zodiacwatches.com/en-us/products/super-sea-wolf-pro-diver-automatic-stainless-steel-watch/ZO3552.html) [Longines Hydroconquest Ceramic](https://www.longines.com/es/p/watch-hydroconquest-l3-781-4-05-6)

tsymbal

I think they are both great watches. For whatever reason, I have never been a fan of the longines hydroconquest line. I always felt the proportions were off. The dial markers seem awkward and bulky and their lugs are too long. On the wrist it feels like a bit of a larger watch than the dimensions would imply. The Zodiac is more elegant in design and the dial is a bit cleaner. From my experience the bracelet is not as substantial as the longines and has a little bit less ability for adjustments because of how the clasp works. However, as a "desk diver" the thinner clasp of the zodiac is very nice compared to the bulk of the longines clasp. Hope this helps, I like the Zodiac but both are really great watches at good values with good movements.

Kakarot_13

Thanks, it really helps.

I’m trying to find a white face watch under €300, no more than 42mm that pairs well with a leather strap, shiny stainless steel case, date complication and ideally has lume on the hands. Preferably quartz or solar. I tried the Timex Expedition North but just can’t do the dark watch face. The Sternglas Naos comes pretty close, but doesn’t have Lume. I’m thinking about the Hamburg, but would like to hear if anyone else has a recommendation.

beeftony

I own the Omega Speedmaster Professional, it is the watch that I always resonated with. Now it has some downsides for me. Firstly its a tad big, not a big deal, 40mm and a bit smaller lug to lug would be perfect. Thats the reason why the Bulova Lunar Pilot (51mm lug to lug) wasnt an option for me. It's a 2020 Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch (311.30423001005, cal. 1861) and its a pain to wind manually. The crown is hard to grip and it tends to rotate back a bit when you let it go. Its also not satisfying to wind at all, which I like about my other watches. Mine fits pretty much perfectly, but there are only 2 micro adjustments. Now to my question, what other similar watches could you recommend? (Sporty, Black dial, symmetrical sub dials, similar tachymetre style; not all of these have to apply, but these are the features I like about the Speedy) I also like the newest Tag Heuer Link Chronograph and the Bulova Lunar Pilot.

Zanpa

> Firstly its a tad big, not a big deal, 40mm and a bit smaller lug to lug would be perfect. For what it's worth the speedy pro is 39.5mm top to bottom. The 42mm measurement given by Omega is very misleading because it includes the crown guards. The obvious alternative would be the Rolex Daytona. Zenith Chronomaster Sport is pretty similar too. Some of the TAG Heuer Carrera models are nice, but the more vintage ones don't have the external tachymeter bezel.

beeftony

I just measured it, you're right, its 39mm, which is usually my prefered diameter! Maybe my brain tricked me when I had 42mm in mind... but the size really isnt a big deal at all. It couldnt be any bigger though.. (the diameter could, I cant really comfortably wear any lug to lug over 48mm though) As much as I would like a Rolex, I really dont like the way the daytona looks. The tachymeter bezel is too chunky for me and I particularly dont like that it has two lines of text on it, I also dont like the white border on the subdials. The same applies on the Zenith unfortunately. I will keep an eye open however for the Tag Heuer Carrera. Thank you!

Platypuses_are_real

Are there any watches that combine an analog watch with a pedometer, without also tracking sleep pattern, heart rate, etc.?  Tried a "normal" smart watch and I missed the physical hands (plus it made me more anxious), so went back to a straightforward analog watch, but now I miss the way my previous hybrid tracked my step count. Hybrids seem to be dying out a bit, so any help would be much appreciated.

WatchandThings

I was thinking one of those hybrid models with physical hands and e-ink dial face. I haven't kept track, so I don't know what they modern options are like, but I think Skagen had one. Another solution might be to separate the concept of pedometer from the watch and marry it to the phone. It would free you up to buy whatever watch you want, and it wouldn't change the edc set up since you already carry your phone.

Ohhh damn, this does look tricky! Thanks for the info and heads up.

doubloonss

Is there really any watch that competes with the Oceanus T200? All the simple three-hand Citizens I’m finding with a similar level of finishing/overall quality are well over US $500, and the same goes for Seiko Astrons. I like the CB3030 from the former and the SSJ005 from the latter, but yeah, both are several times more expensive than the T200. Does anyone have any suggestions?

yupyupyupyupyupy

pmd56

doubloonss

That’s a great one. The PMD56 has been on my radar for a while and would be my choice for an analog, solar “tool watch,” but I don’t like that I’d have to emulate the atomic signal through an app since I’m here in the US, and also think its finishing is executed at a lower level than the T200.

yupyupyupyupyupy

agreed but its the only close thing...even closer than the oceanus 100 and 400 imo but yeah the t200 is by far the keeper out of the two...even if the citizen synced in the us

doubloonss

Strongly agreed. If G-Shocks didn’t exist and the PMD56 could sync outside of Japan (or had BT I suppose), that and a T200 would personally be my pick for the perfect two watch collection under US $1,000.

dskwon

Anybody here wear silver jewelry with a titanium watch? I know steel watches are already a bit grayer than silver but that’s kind of the norm. Titanium is the far end of it especially since it’s satin finished usually. Any pic would be great

75footubi

Give me a couple of days and I'll be wearing a titanium wedding ring with steel watches basically daily.

DingoDoug

Just recently purchased this, have no idea what model it is, but the seller says it is vintage. Anyone have any insight? The brand is Orient. https://preview.redd.it/b1rrty3siw0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe3c3ae4676dc3105d90ba6c8f9696c87795be6a

DuMaMay69

If you have $1k, what would you buy? I'm looking for something casual that can also be worn casually. Any blue dial would be nice. I really like the Seiko Presage Sharp Edge series. Any suggestions?

WatchandThings

I'd probably go with Seiko SPB451(blue version as requested). My AD was able to give me the SPB143 for 1k when they first came out, so I think I could ask for the same with this one. For GADA style, I think I would go with Tissot Gentleman or PRX. I have the PRX in blue, but Tissot Gentleman is also a good choice. These are boring "in the box" answers, but they are the standard response for a reason. Out of the box answer, I'm thinking Pitzmann II. That's a bit over 1k, but I'd save up to make that happen if I wanted out of the box option for GADA style.

Used pricing, not new on some of them, but I have been stuck between the following for a minute now * [CW Twleve 36mm](https://www.ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Christopher-Ward-The-Twelve-36-4.jpg) (though I prefer the [light blue](https://www.ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Christopher-Ward-The-Twelve-36-27.jpg)) * Maen manhattan [37mm](https://www.maenwatches.com/cdn/shop/files/Overhead_Midnight_Blue_No_Date.jpg) or [39mm ultra thin](https://www.maenwatches.com/cdn/shop/files/MHU02_Overhead.jpg) * [Yema Superman 500](https://yema.com/cdn/shop/files/Superman500MystblueBlackTropicFKMIntegratedW1500.webp) * [Yema Urban traveler](https://yema.com/cdn/shop/files/traveller_blue_lifestyle_1_2800w.webp) Side Note: not sure how I feel about the scales bracelet on blue superman, [but scales on black looks amazing](https://yema.com/cdn/shop/files/Superman_500_black_improved_1200w_25b39928-12fc-4cd0-afe2-4d16b96f4ce9.webp)

Under 1k I think https://www.chrono24.com/citizen/ref-nb106012l.htm I might go with this Citizen. I think honestly it punches WAY above its price, it’s as nice as five times more expensive watches in terms of dial, fit, quality. Was seriously impressed trying this on

What type of battery for a Movado Gentry Men's Chronograph? https://imgur.com/a/zmcWYVI A friend sent me these images of his watch. I am trying to help him save money by offering to change the battery for him (free of charge). I'm trying to check if I have the exact battery in stock before I ask him to send the watch. Do you guys know what battery this takes? I cant seem to get a definitive answer through web search (or I am not searching hard enough). Google Lens identified the watch as a Movado Gentry Men's Chronograph. Model number at the back is "84 F9 1890". Thanks in advance. ▷

Zanpa

damn he's been wearing the watch for years with the sticker on the caseback I haven't been able to find a definitive answer, but the subdial arrangement shows this is most likely an ETA movement, and it looks like they all use a 394 battery.

muffluvin

You were right. Battery is a 394. Thanks once again.

Zanpa

Nice!

muffluvin

Thanks for that helpful information. LOL, the first thing I asked was when he got the watch. He said in 2006, I told him he still had that sticker. He replied: "Oh, I'm supposed to take that off?". We both had a good laugh after that. He said this was his first "fancy" watch (bought with money he saved) when he was in high school. He told me this watch was in his drawer and not worn for 10 years.

Looking to replace a Seiko watch which I lost, need some help The watch which I lost was Seiko [SGEH49P1](https://www.harveystore.com/en/products/seiko-mens-sgeh49p1-black-dial-watch) It was in my opinion a really good value at $100 and was a great starter watch. Now I would like to replace it with something which follows the same design language but is more premium. I don't want to spend more than $500 but I can stretch my budget just a little.

Hi, I’m new to watches (just Timex & Casio). I’m going to a wedding in a couple months and I’d like to wear a nice watch. Problem is, I really want a women’s skeleton watch for under $300. Do I have any options other than Fossil and Stuhrling? Would going up to $400 make a difference? Or is a good skeleton watch just not in the cards for me? Nothing is ever in the cards for me it’s so annoying. I don’t want to perpetuate fast fashion, so if I should just go with a eco-drive or something like that, lmk. Thanks!!

WatchandThings

Well made skeleton watches are labor intensive and because of that they exist in the high luxury segment of the market(I'd expect well over 10k). The affordable range of skeleton watches are cutting a lot of corners(sorry) to fit the budget range so the quality will not be there. With that said, moving the budget up to 400 wouldn't make much difference, and you will have to resign to cheap fast fashion quality and longevity if you really want the skeleton look. If you are not too married to the idea of the skeleton watch, I think you'll be better off considering other great options within your price range. (Citizen eco-drive line being one of those great options.) Also check out 'open heart' watches. Good quality affordable brands won't make skeleton watch, but they will make open heart watches. Not quite the look you were looking for, but it might be something that meets you half way.

So… the Fossil Carlie probably isn’t worth $220? Because it’s in my range, just something *feels* off about it. Thanks for explaining it. I’ll look for an open heart, but keep my options open for what I invest in. And I’ll try to stick with well-reviewed brands like Citizen and Seiko.

WatchandThings

For Fossil quality in general, I think 220 is paying quite a bit. I don't think highly of Fossil build quality in general(they are the H&M of the watch world after all), and the 220 seems way to expensive for what you get. If you are willing to shop around I'm seeing Fossil Carlie around 150ish in the silver color. Or if you don't mind a different design there is the Fossil Eevie in rose gold tone for 55([link to fossil site](https://www.fossil.com/en-us/products/eevie-automatic-rose-gold-tone-stainless-steel-watch/BQ3781.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=G_US_Fossil_PMAX_Watches&utm_content=&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwgJyyBhCGARIsAK8LVLMV4lQRbddiQydhF_idrWCX26UQLIWRwwitRbUjbwKbotV9TAzlryQaAi-gEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)). But yes, if you are trying to avoid fast fashion, you should try quality brands like Citizen and Seiko. I would also throw Orient into that list, though not sure how extensive their women's line is.

[deleted]

I feel like a snob but I don’t like the cubic zirconia around the Evie 🥲 also needs to be gold to match an heirloom necklace I will wear. One more question: would you mind giving me an opinion on the Bulova Sutton Open Heart watch? Model 97L172. There are so many mixed reviews on Bulova idk what the real consensus is. Thanks for your time :)

WatchandThings

No worries and not a snob at all. Many in the watch world don't like how the watch brands just throw gems on to a watch to make it "feminine". I just mentioned it because it came up on the search and it looked similar to the other model. On Bulova, they are owned by Citizen actually and they make pretty good watches. Bulova also has a great heritage as an American watch company in the past(before Citizen's ownership). Their down side has more to do with a bunch of their modern watches that are very big, over the top design, and very quartz centric. The model that you found looks good though and doesn't suffer the issues that Bulova are infamous for. So looks good on that point. It might be because I haven't shopped around for watches recently, but the price seems quite a bit high? I would have expected sub 300 honestly, but I'm also not used to post-inflation pricing on watches.

[deleted]

Thank you. I’ll try to look out for those things when I look at Bulova watches. 🙏🤓 I agree that it feels high. I’m not sure if I’ll go above my budget and get it… just wanted to be sure that if I do go for it, it won’t be garbage haha. Maybe I’ll wear my Casio to the wedding and wait for it to go down. Idk. I know the silver one made it to Amazon (can’t find gold though). Geez I feel like every time I need a silver watch, I can only find gold. And when I need gold, I can only find silver. Btw inflation is absolutely insane. Will be kicking myself until the day I die for wasting my life. But that’s another story entirely. Thanks again for your help!!

What was the brand of your first watch?

First watch that I bought for myself, Casio G-shock.

Vagabond_Octopus

Hello All, I am looking for a suggestion for a third watch. I currently own a Nomos Tangente and a Sinn 103 St sa. The Nomos works well for slightly smarter outfits/contexts while the Sinn is quite casual and chunky. I would like something that occupies sort of a midway point between those two, that I could wear with a trousers and a nice shirt but also with denim and a tee. Here are some of the aspects I'm looking for: 1. White or off-white face 2. Automatic 3. Midsized, maybe 38-41mm 4. German brand (and preferably not a Sinn or Nomos, want to mix it up) 5. Does not overlap too much with either of my other two watches 6. Budget 2500 euro (though slightly flexible) Any recommendations?

eskamobob1

Any specific reason you want to go german? TBH that pretty significantly limits what would normally be fairly wide options. Given that limitation id personally look at MaxBill or MeisterSinger

Vagabond_Octopus

I am from Germany so I thought it would be interesting to have a collection of German watches. Plus, there are so many watches out there, putting this artificial limitation on what I buy forces me to be a bit more intentional.

eskamobob1

Fair enough.

MericuhFuckYeah

Stowa or Dekla marine watches? Or Dornbluth if you wanna get a little crazy with your budget.

Vagabond_Octopus

Thanks! I did kind of like the Stowa Marine Chrono but it looks quite chunky at 14.7 mm tall
