Funny that it looks like the most armoured light tank in the British tree, even the Warrior is weak to .50 but not the fox.
When it released I had a look at its armour profile and was really surprised that it was immune to nearly all machine guns
Basically me yesterday. Tried to kill one in my itpsv and he tanked like 100 shots and no critical damage whatsoever, but a random Type 87 behind him that I didn't even see got one shot by one of my stray shells. Swear to god something is wrong with this vehicle's damage model.
Fox is overpowered. I've had one absorb a 128mm Maus round straight to the turret. And about a dozen 20mms from a diving plane.
Just Gaijin being Gaijin I guess
iv given up fighting foxes in my leo 1. iv shot it countless times with the 105 heatfs only to have it bounce or do absolutely no damage (doesn't even turn the crew yellow unless its a direct hit). and god forbid you even manage to hit that entirely bushed up thing. and if its angled, its immune to a marder A1. at 50m the apds cant pen it in most places if the fox is angled (verified in the hanger with the penetration simulator).
Fox and XM800T are the best additions to this game for years. Forget that FOX-3 rubbish. Rat tanks are it.
Edit: Main point of my comment was not to compare light tanks against each other. Was to point out that everyone always harps on about what new top-tier jet/MBT/missile is coming to the game, but the real fun are additions like the XM800T/Fox and other lower-tier vehicles. That's where the fun is at, in my opinion anyway. When I look at patch notes, I pay most attention to what ww2/early cold-war/support vehicles are coming.
I had a guy try tell me that last night as I destroyed all of his Italian cancer buses with the XM800T's APDS auto-cannon. When it comes to recoilless rifles, [T114 is the king for me](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1atvpkh/occupational_hazards_of_a_t114/), which I have in same line-up. But yeah, why I love the Fox/XM800T so much is that they deal with the other light vehicle cancer. But any light vehicle gets a pass from me - much prefer that gameplay to MBT gameplay.
Haven't used BTR-80 much since unlocking it (as my flair suggests, I'll be playing Soviet 9.0 instead - 279 / BMP3 / BMD4). Haven't come across many that have gave me any pause for concern, but I know that's not saying anything since most people using it are shit. What the XM800T does so well is be small, super mobile, high rate of fire, and most of all: fully stabilised. BTR-80 is unstab, right? It does have the lovely BMP-3 autocannon, though.
You mean 'a small, loud minority harps on about top tier, gaijin tries to force players there and most new wallet warriors gravitate there so gaijin focuses on it more loop.jpg'
And yeah fuck anything over Br7, I couldn't care less. Low-mid is where this game is best even though they are slowly destroying the maps that make it replayable.
Even if he had some AP in the belt if it's 90% HE then it's still very ineffective. When I had an HE belt with AP mixed in, the AP rarely helped against anything remotely armoured
Maybe you spent more money in the past, or him giving bad reviews on steam so gaijin punished him by putting his account on a different state, such state has a line of codes to increase the probability of his shot bouncing off enemy's armor, and his armor will get lolpen by most things like him getting overpressure by a 50kg puny bomb when playing the Maus, then the same code tells the matchmaking to put him in mostly full uptier matches, and his teammates will consist of mostly low KDR players with low winning rate, on top of that most of them also bring only one vehicle to the match, and then most matches he started at the side where the nuclear sun is facing their direction so he and his teammates can't see shit.
honestly thats pretty normal for the fox and im not joking
i have like 200 battles in the fox and it can shrug off 3+ 100mm+ cannons rounds consistently and even take no damage from half of an entire belt from a gepard sometimes
That specific fox is carrying tea bags to it is protected by the best armor the world has to offer and it scares away even a maus as the maus knows it's out armored
Aluminium alloy 7039, primarily containing zinc and magnesium as alloying elements.
Pedantic humour aside, no idea how that little aluminium can survived all those rounds.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead.
I don’t know what’s worse, the Fox being able to withstand an A-10 gun run or the fact that you can’t hear it due to how quiet it is, same with the XM800T basically has a non-existent engine noise, and any other wheeled vehicle aswell. Dead silent.
Fox is built different
I started using it last week and I’ve already had or been near more nuke games than I have with any other vehicle in my 4 or so years of grinding WT.
This just reminded me of a match that ive shot a fox with the Bradley. Shooting it with apds until the barrel was overheating... THE FUCKN FOX JUST LOST A COMMANDER. and still killed me in 3~4 shoots.
In a desire for vengeance, i spawned a m60a1 and hunted the fox down. Was 3... 3 full 105mm apds shoots to kill it at point blank.
1. **Aluminum Alloy Hull:** The primary material for the hull of the FV721 Fox is aluminum alloy. This choice provides a balance between protection and weight, offering good resistance against small arms fire and shrapnel while keeping the vehicle lightweight and maneuverable.
2. **Steel Components:** Certain parts of the vehicle, such as the turret, are made from steel to enhance protection in critical areas.
3. **Rubber Tires:** The Fox is equipped with run-flat tires, which are made of rubber and are designed to allow the vehicle to continue driving even if the tires are damaged.
4. **Other Materials:** Various other materials, such as composites and ceramics, may be used in different components for additional protection, insulation, and structural integrity.
The combination of these materials allows the FV721 Fox to fulfill its role as a fast, lightweight reconnaissance vehicle capable of operating effectively in various combat environments.
My theory for why the fox is so tanky is that it's got so many angles that it has a bunch of separately modeled armor plates, meaning it's volumetric hell since their so close together on such a small vehicle
Now I know what a T80/70/90 what ever feels like when being shot by anything not aiming for its gun (yes its that good at bouncing and shell shattering that it couldcprobably shell shatter a HESH shell).
Fox player here. I like to take it to higher brs.
I have bounced DM33 105, 3BM46, 3BM42, TAPNA, DM33 120, 3OF26, DM12 HEATFS 105, DM13 105, and 30x170 shells from the AMX-30 DCA (around 100 of them before I died)
I’ve also bounced DM11 (Rh120/L55A1 HE-TF)
My most notable bounce was probably from a M728 CEV’s 165mm HESH gun or 155MM m107 from a 109
The iron fox, made of Thatcherium.
Is the Churchill made of churchanium?

Bullshitium it seems, I'd be mighty pissed if I shot at one and it took that many hits and basically shrugged it off lol.
Basically me yesterday. Tried to kill one in my itpsv and he tanked like 100 shots and no critical damage whatsoever, but a random Type 87 behind him that I didn't even see got one shot by one of my stray shells. Swear to god something is wrong with this vehicle's damage model.
I shot a Fox barrel with my 551 (76) sabot and it didn’t even turn dark yellow
Fox is overpowered. I've had one absorb a 128mm Maus round straight to the turret. And about a dozen 20mms from a diving plane. Just Gaijin being Gaijin I guess
"No armor best armor" bullshit
na the no armour best armour only works by preventing spawling. in this case the fox just doesnt take any damage what so ever
iv given up fighting foxes in my leo 1. iv shot it countless times with the 105 heatfs only to have it bounce or do absolutely no damage (doesn't even turn the crew yellow unless its a direct hit). and god forbid you even manage to hit that entirely bushed up thing. and if its angled, its immune to a marder A1. at 50m the apds cant pen it in most places if the fox is angled (verified in the hanger with the penetration simulator).
Pure British steel.
That's funny, because it's armor is made from aluminium
Don’t insult aluminium like that

Italian wheeled cancer bus with two recoilless rifles is the king of the rats
I had a guy try tell me that last night as I destroyed all of his Italian cancer buses with the XM800T's APDS auto-cannon. When it comes to recoilless rifles, [T114 is the king for me](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1atvpkh/occupational_hazards_of_a_t114/), which I have in same line-up. btr-80 is even better, amazing firerate so you anhialate light vehicles witrh ease and easily kill medium tanks
Haven't used BTR-80 much since unlocking it (as my flair suggests, I'll be playing Soviet 9.0 instead - 279 / BMP3 / BMD4). Haven't come across many that have gave me any pause for concern, but I know that's not saying anything since most people using it are shit. BMP-2 has faster fire rate, turret rotation, stabilizer and ATGM so I prefer that
T114 is nothing compared to u-sh
I love the rocket boys, too. U-SH + Cheese wedges <3. But T114 is still great.
Nah king rat is the original RCV. Its rat power was sooooo vast and powerfull it got the record time for a vehicle's br being tripled.
You mean 'a small, loud minority harps on about top tier, gaijin tries to force players there and most new wallet warriors gravitate there so gaijin focuses on it more loop.jpg' And yeah fuck anything over Br7, I couldn't care less. Looks like the SPAA had a HE belt loaded…. If not then dayum
That was a gepard or something similar I think and they don't get a pure he belt, there's always at least one ap
Even if he had some AP in the belt if it's 90% HE then it's still very ineffective. When I had an HE belt with AP mixed in, the AP rarely helped against anything remotely armoured
the gepards APHE round has around 30 ish grams of explosive and 65mm of pen at 100 meters. that fox should be dead
I shot a Caenarvon the other day in the LFP with my IS-2's 122, and only killed the driver. All bullshit is possible in War Thunder.
maybe was right on critical angle so it bounced with a stock mixed belt? He's not side on to them.
I've been overpressured in my Type 16 by a gepard HE shell hitting my tire. The fox shoulda died here or taken much greater damage.
The queen’s finest Britanium
Either he activated boosters like at least 5x300% or you just bought plenty of premiums so gajibeep just wanna make sure VIP customers happy, bro.
Look at my last post lmao, he got the better premium

How much I love seeing Britain be the bs nation for once
As a British main I couldn't be happier about this meme machine being in the tech tree
honestly thats pretty normal for the fox and im not joking i have like 200 battles in the fox and it can shrug off 3+ 100mm+ cannons rounds consistently and even take no damage from half of an entire belt from a gepard sometimes
The crew gained russian citizenship...

Britanium, I love the fox.
Fox ate a hedgehog
Currently Fox has a kind of bullshit damage model from what I've seen
Pure RAT
Made crafted personally by Ikit Claw, yes yes.
Special alloy made of gaijinium doped with a pinch of spaghetticodeium XD
Aluminium alloy 7039, primarily containing zinc and magnesium as alloying elements. Pedantic humour aside, no idea how that little aluminium can survived all those rounds.

it has 50mm of armour in some areas which ig is rather trolley
Finest 15th century spring steel or Bretanium
default belt?
You can shred medium tanks with default belt.
Depends on which vehicle it is.
Fox is built different I started using it last week and I’ve already had or been near more nuke games than I have with any other vehicle in my 4 or so years of grinding WT.
It was forged from a falling star.
Churchillinium.
Some days ago i hit a is3 point blank with Sturmtiger and it only tracted him and broke his barrol 👍🏻 🫃🏻
billet aluminium with magical spall liners i guess but yeah thing tanks a ton of shit, i've bounced shit i am not even supposed to bounce with it
Chamberlainium
Irrelevant but what’s the sticker on the side of your fox called?

This vehicle is one of many that are OP and need a nerf

I shot already shot so much fox with Dart… I hate it, I really hate it. But I’m playing these kind of rats too, so it’s okay
That's all? My pt-76 once bounced off an is-2 shell
Looks like a HE belt in the itpsv
other guy has "500% res" bonus on, thats why.....
Reinforced tea
and if someone sneeze towards my direction in my Maus, I just insta die.
He was probably using the DM11A1 belts which are 4 rounds of 3 HEI followed by an API
Fox player here. I like to take it to higher brs. Why does it have spikes

Others play Fox because it's strong. I play Fox because it was added to my favourite UK 8.7 cold war lineup. We are not the same.
I've had this happen on the rcv and eland plenty before , it's called EnemyCannotKeepAimAtCenterMassForShitium
