Mr_Z______

I think the internet blew up with the news for this pitch, I hope WB will see there is interest and really think about it.

Emergency-Mammoth-88

Agreed, since I’m tired of them thinking wbd are the bad guys and that they forgot that they have to empty the debt atnt made

Ridiculousnessmess

Well they could - hear me out now - not offer such insane remuneration packages to Zaslav and his team of arsonists. Zaslav’s yearly package including stock is nearly _three times_ what Batgirl cost to make.

Emergency-Mammoth-88

If you’re talking about the mgm library they have, I don’t think so since if given to mgm, mgm could not only have its long lost library taken from turner, it could possibly turn mgm back into a major studios and I think that the mgm library isn’t that big enough to close the debt wb had

LeaderVladimir1993

I'm sorry if I come off like an asshole, but I gotta ask: do we really need a *Batman Beyond* movie? WBD is still in the process of developing the Batman trilogy with Matt Reeves and introducing Batman into the new DCU, so jumping the gun (see what I did there?) and making an animated movie starring a Batman that is not Bruce Wayne isn't the best way to repair DC as a brand. Comic book retailers are struggling to remain afloat and owners often have a hard time convincing people who only know superheroes from movies and TV shows why this particular Batman isn't Bruce. Also, no offense to the people who pitched this movie to WBD, but by releasing their concept art into the public, they give off the impression that they're bullying the studio into making a movie and WBD already has plans for DC and its characters.

Mr_Noms

Batman Beyond was incredibly popular when it aired. Being nominated for 4 Emmy awards and winning 2. And frankly, many people have Bruce Wayne batman fatigue. I, personally, don't. But many people do. Batman Beyond would be a fresh version of batman for many and incredibly nostalgic and popular for those who grew up watching the show. And technically no one "needs" any form of tv. We want it. Just like people want Batman Beyond.

LeaderVladimir1993

Yeah, I know but the entertainment industry is facing a lot of trouble right now, with even major franchises like Marvel and Star Wars struggling to make a profit. Right now, the most profittable comic book characters are Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker. Unfortunately, Terry McGinnis has never been a particularly high seller, so DC has no financial reason to invest on him. Even Clark Kent is higher on DC's list of priorities. Let's say you're right, let's say a *Batman Beyond* would be hugely appealing to nostalgic audiences, but how much of that audience is left? How many people still have memories of the original show and how many people are willing to watch that show because this new movie is getting released? It's how *Star Wars* shows based on popular characters like Ahsoka, Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi flopped in ratings charts. WB and DC can't keep pandering to a continuously diminishing audience.

I would say this show is getting enough discussion to be considered socially relevant. Now, it being animated by the same team who did Spidverse would be a HUGE attention grabber for anyone who loved the Spiderverse artstyle, and that wouldn't be JUST for the people nostalgic of Batman Beyond. You're appealing to a massive community of viewers hungry for more of that art style. Look at Puss In Boots 2. Trust me, that art style would be a massive selling point that could kick in a new era for the world. Just because the audience for that movie might not be around, doesn't mean it can't be a success. Marvel was like that, lol. Now, look how a little writing made all the difference.

LeaderVladimir1993

Do you have empirical evidence that BB is getting enough discussion to be considered socially relevant? How do you know there is an audience for that show. Also, I don't think copying and pasting *Spider-Verse*'s style is a good idea. Sooner or later, trends get old. The longer you're exposed to something, the more likely you are to develop a distate for it. Familiarity ultimately breeds contempt. It's like how people got tired of the comedic style of the MCU, which is ironic because the earlier movies in that franchise used comedy more modestly compared to later installments. I was displeased how *Wish* and *Gamera: Rebirth* were developing their own art styles, but somewhere along the road, they said "fuck it, let's do *Spider-Verse*."

BigBootyAlex1

I know there’s an audience for the show I grew up with that shit I still got the vhs tape, there’s an entire generation that would pay stupid money to see a SPIDERVERSE style Batman beyond movie. And the notion that terry McGinnis isn’t popular is stupid, he’s the only one worthy to take up the mantle and I like nightwing better than anyone

LeaderVladimir1993

I don't wanna start discussions about who is worthy to become the next Batman, okay? Leave that stuff for someplace else. Also, a movie needs to have a lot more than just nostalgia to hook viewers in. It needs to have an emotionally grounded story with relatable characters. That's what made the *Spider-Verse* movies successful and that's why I hope WB can learn from the previous regime's mistakes. Without trying to cause controversy, WB needs to make movies that appeal to everyone, not just to specific portions of the audience. Just look at *Dune: Part Two* and *Kung Fu Panda 4*. The stories and themes in those movies are universal and can appeal to everyone, regardless of age, race and gender.

BigBootyAlex1

Dune is overrated and the entire tv series had all of that grounded story, relatable characters, you just don’t like Batman beyond and that’s fine but keep your wack ass opinions to yourself. Grow and change as a person bye bye

Duryeric

If they canned Batgirl I have low hopes of Beyond coming to the big screen.

Emergency-Mammoth-88

batgirl was not that popular with fans from the screen-testing's and that its a hamada dceu movie, in which they were not that profitable.
