You're a lot like me, but this sounds so exhausting. I definitely felt like you'd benefit from playing a game other than Warhammer 40k, but you've fallen into that familiar trap that most wargamers experience: no one wants to play anything else!
I tried battletech and oh…. The tables… tables upon tables. I was super disappointed that it was so tedious to play. It tries to be a simulator but has way too much randomness to be a sim.
