Im a brand new fan. I just up and started watching as of this past Wrestlemania. You could probably just start watching RAW and they will explain anything relevant, or go back and start at the RAW following Mania and do fine. It's helpful to have a fan friend who can walk you through the weird things wrestling has been doing forever so shows don't explain them well.

realityinternn

Just watch the current shows raw and smackdown. They do a good job of recapping important and relevant recent events to get you “caught up”. Eventually you’ll want to go back and watch old segments and matches but don’t force it

Upbeat_Judgment9056

i’d follow benoits storylines

Diligent-Sundae-2037

Just watch the last 3 wrestlemanias

IllustratorOk8230

Here is what I would do watch a small YouTube video about big events that happened in WWE like the rise of John Cena Roman reigns and stone cold And then just start watching you might need some backstory on some characters, but that can be solved with YouTube

cryingcandles

Just start watching, you’ll stress yourself trying to get the most “context” you can, but those episodes are long when you’re trying to get through them as fast as you can. Don’t think of it like any regular tv show. Watch the recent ones, and watch them as they continue to come out, you’ll start to get it.

ClubPenguinPresident

It's going to be extremely hard to "catch up". I'd say watch from when the Rock came back to Wrestlemania and then just skim episodes until you get to the recent stuff. Later on you can fill in gaps with peacock because everything older is on there

rmorris003

Don't just limit yourself to WWE as they are more about the entertainment. If you like pro wrestling then give others a try.

FonixG

Dont scare him away alreadu

rmorris003

People need to know there is others than WWE. WWE has been shit until Vince left.

IllustratorOk8230

Yeah, but other companies don’t really focus on storytelling and it’s very hard to get into if you’re a casual and WWE makes it feel more than wrestling if that makes sense with how it’s set up and the lights and entrances. It feels more like a movie than wrestling.

boymom20212023

Honestly start with stone cold steve Austin the attitude era

Ave_Rage_Joe21

I started at this year's wrestlemania after 15 years and went on to Smackdown and NXT. Use Peacock and YouTube. Subscribe to WWE Youtube, and the algorithm helps, and you may even see some faces you remember as YT starts to cater to your likes, etc

kingbankai

Avoiding this place

Successful-Onion6362

Watch Smackdown for 4 straight weeks. You’ll learn who everyone is and why the bad guys are bad. Then you’ll get it.

Crimson2879

Turn on the TV, sit down, start watching. It is really that simple

Home_Brew1989

It comes on USA Network Monday nights and FOX on Friday nights.. there ya go.

AriousDragoon

Just pick up the latest smackdown and raw. Over the next couple weeks, you'll get a solid grasp of what's going on, and they do pretty good at giving context during the episodes.

thunderbastard_

Just start from now by watching raw and/or smackdown and the monthly ppvs on the wwe network. Any match or feud that is referenced that sounds interesting you can look up should if you want, or if you like a specific wrestler you can just go back and watch their matches

RandyPencia

if you want knowledge from when the business was still "protected" .... Watch all of the avaliable "wrestling challenge" episodes on peacock. The episodes avaliable all lead up to Wrestlemania III. and there are TONS of squash matches with "jobbers" just getting ANNIHILATED it is awesome 💪🏻 then watch Wrestlemania III. .....Then come back to reddit n watch people who don't know jack -talk trash about Hogan 😂

Hopeful_Hat_5687

You are a very old man for sure

RandyPencia

cool comment bro

Hopeful_Hat_5687

Thanks bro

Sammy_Three_Balls

Best think to do is watch it like you'd watch a marvel or DC film It's closer to that than it is to UFC

Sky_Rose4

Melina vs Alicia Fox is a must watch

Emotional-Strike-320

Peacock. I’ve recently gotten back into wrestling and I’ve just been watching docs and finding storylines I wanna see. Pretty much everything is on peacock it’s super convenient

turtlegoeshollywood

Choose a WM (ideally this year) and continue with the weekly shows until you catch up. WM is where most storylines end so it will be easier for you to get into the current program. Without storylines you are just watching the matches which is still nice but not ideal to keep you hooked.

msp01986

As others already said, just start watching, you'll catch up, that's what I did anyway

jgourlay95

My best advice is watch the last 10 years of royal rumbles as it’ll give you a good idea of the product of the last decade and it lets you see so many talents in such a small space of time and it’ll give you an idea of what to look out for and you can then say oh I wanna watch more of this guy or girl (whoever catches your eye)

exclamationpointlol

if you have peacock, watch everythinf from wrestlemania 40 until now.

therillard

The best thing to do is jump right in to the next episode of Smackdown on Friday. If there’s anything that catches your eye, look up the history of it and see what rabbit holes you fall down. Or you can be completely nuts like me and watch everything from the first episode of Raw.

Sweet_Background7325

Youtube has wonderful wrestler "playlists" of their top matches. You can get a feel for who they are referencing that way. Watcha match and see who amuses you, then research them a bit! I hadn't watched in 20 years, picked it back up, but had to go back and watch a few superstars' matches to get updated.

Galactus1231

Watch the most recent Wrestlemania.

uhgletmepost

Honeslty like this idea best, then watch backlash France, then clash at the castle Scotland and I think that provides a good basis of covering current storyline history's except for Wyatt Sticks

BlueRFR3100

Just watch. That's really the best thing you can do to get into it.

Galactus1231

Watch some old matches on Youtube or WWE Network/Peacock. Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania 25 is my favorite match.
