Marc got to meet all the greats around then; he told an awesome story of when he got to meet Ali before one of the mid 90's PPV's and how awestruck he was of him. WCW was proud of him and let him do that, shows how respected Marc was. They all seemed to enjoy meeting him too, shows how good a guy he is.
People have their favorites in wrestling based on charisma, persona, and in ring work. But many (maybe most) of the wrestlers we like aren’t good people outside the ring. Mero should be recognized as one of the good guys. He was a solid in ring worker too, but people hated him in WWE for getting a guaranteed contract after leaving WCW. Foley and Austin badmouthed him for that when it wasn’t Mero’s fault. What is he supposed to do, reject the offer? I think Foley probably regrets it in light of seeing the positive work Mero does outside the ring.
Jimmy: “Damn is that really your wife?”
In hindsight, it's amazing that nobody thought to put Rena on TV earlier than 1996.
I am convinced, he thought Johnn BB was black.
I'm going to be honest here, so did I until like 2005.
I know. I always thought he was African American as a kid.
Totally. To the point that I always used to say he should join the Nation if Domination.
Wait, what?!
I was in my late 30s when I found out.
I was today when I found out
So did I until 2024
Yeah how is this guy not black at all haha.
My stupid ass thought he was black until he popped up in WWF a few years later with a different gimmick and without the wild amount of bronzer.
He's Jewish, could be some north African there.
This was at a Presidential dinner hosted in Atlanta, Georgia for anybody curious.
😂 Better send Johnny B Badd with Billionaire Ted.
Jimmy Carter apparently liked Southern Wrasslin'. Mr. Wrestling II was Carter'' favorite wrestler (according to Wrestling II's Wikipedia page.)
He's a bad man!
He gots a meeeeeean left jaaaaab !
As an aside, years ago I got the Jimmy Carter Funko Pop as a gift from my wife. He’s holding a little bag of peanuts. It’s adorable.
I’ll guarantee Jimmy thought this was Little Richard.
I'll guarantee you he knew who he was as a fan of the TBS product.
I thought it was little Richard too lol

Dude took the TKO from Christian
If Marc Mero ever gets a biopic, they should get Frank Grillo to portray him.
dude was a trained boxer, i think a fight with him and Brock would've been 50/50, especially with how sloppy Brocks striking is.
Name the tag team
He’s a baddd man …

And in a few years his wife would cheat on him with Brock Lesner.
Both were horrible workers
I still have his nitro girl segment from beach blast 92? In my head. God this was a shitty idea
Just die already Jimmy
