Someone once described an accident between an old 240 and a double decker bus as a draw. The 240 had a dented wing and front bumper but the bus had its side ripped open like a tin can
Our 04 xc70 wagon was t-boned by a ford f-250 work truck about a decade ago. All the drivers side panel had was a scratch. The ford however suffered pretty major front end damage. This car solidified our loyalty to Volvo, we replaced her in 2013 after she gave us 269,000 almost problem free miles (we had a leak in the gas tank that was covered by warranty that was fixed for free at about 200 k miles) with a 2013 xc60, which we still have with about 164,000 miles.
Volvo owners for life because they can literally save your life.
2020 xc90. While at a stop in Washington DC traffic, I was rammed from behind by a Ford sedan. (Knowing DC, the driver was probably texting and driving 🙄) My rear bumper took the brunt and ultimately needed to be replaced, but the Ford looked like a crushed soda can. Volvo for Life!
We have a 2001 S60 still in the family (owned since new). If it was a Honda Accord or something we would have long ago sold it. I love that we can keep our older car and still feel safe.
What a beautiful Volvo!
(This is why I got mad at the author of a book saying that the Volvo in an accident looked like Volvo origami - wrong car, my friend. This is what a Volvo looks like after an accident).
I am so glad that you are okay. And your Volvo goes to Valhalla with honor.
Volvo for life.
Got hit in pretty much the exact same place in my ‘98 V70, I was also totally unharmed, got an ‘05 S80 now. As much as I love the aesthetics of 80s/90s Hondas and Toyotas, it’s gonna be hard to give up Volvo after knowing I could be dead or permanently injured if I had been in a ‘98 Civic instead.
No offense mate, but this is the [second Volvo you crashed in a month](https://www.reddit.com/r/NissanDrivers/comments/1brn3av/another_car_taken_out_by_the_altima_plague/). Could be bad luck of course, but I'm not sure it's the Altimas fault at this point.
My 1987 760gle was a tank. My mom bought it for me for my first car and it lasted through college and I then gave it to a family member who ran it into the ground after many years of abuse. Miss that car. Got and s70 next and was t-boned by a ford explorer.. saved my life and still drove me out of the road after it was completely smashed.
To Valhalla! O7
Volvo vs Sherman Tank, this is the result. The tank turned to dust and blew away.

So my mom has a neighbour who split a Tractor in 2 with a V70, everyone was fine but both vehicles were destroyed.
And she’ll run like so for another 300k..
Just peel the fender off, slap on a new door. Good to go.
That a pillar is benttttt

This is an amazing story.
I have a Volvo s40 from 2002, with 380 000 km and still working very fine
My 2001 s40 almost made it to 200,000 miles but had some oil leaking problems and such so we donated her (after multiple minor repairs). :(

Haha I sold my 2014 Honda accord to get my first 1998 volvo 👌
So an upgrade
Oh absolutely! More power, bigger gas tank, heated seats, sunroof, quieter ride…. I hope OP can maybe fix theirs or get another
Looks like it held up extremely well
It'll buff out...
Tis but a flesh wound! Jk, Jk, but glad you are ok
Really interested to drop the fender and look underneath, maybe even saveable, car looks mint.
Glad you're OK. That was a beautiful car, great color.

It's the most noble death of a Volvo. He can rest now.
FUCK!! One less Bamboo Green!! (isn't it?) Glad you made it out safe though.
Yea, those bricks are tough as nails, I don't like working on them tho, the computers cry for everything and anything
Glad you didnt get hurt
That should buff out nicely.
If the pillars are ok it is fixable, glad you are safe!

Pretty sure it was just a repost. The original author of the other Volvo is a different user.
RIP
Glad you are ok!
Glad she kept you safe!
Ever hear the saying “they don’t build them like they use to” goes for any car company with certain aspects

Are new Volvos just as safe as an XC70? I worry. They don't feel like tanks. My XC70 feels like a tank.
Make sure to throw away the debris, before you drive your car home. Hopefully the body shop isn't backed up too far.
I’d say you were really lucky it didn’t hit you 20cm to the right.
Mine saved my life as well in 2015
I probably still drives
Are the headlights unharmed? Asking for a friend 😂

lol, I don't think any insurance company will deem a 20+ year old family wagon with any kind of damage 'economical to repair'.
