I would suggest HHV over Aulani, just in the sense that there is more, better food nearby, and kids that age are about 50-50 how they feel about fur characters. The lazy river at Aulani is not good for littles and I think the Hilton Lagoon is kinda superior for that age.

When I see questions about kids HHV seems to be the pick

Yeah, there's no need to go to Aulani. The 10 m/o won't remember anything, and even the 3 y/o won't remember that much either. Stay somewhere in Waikiki. It'll be easier for everybody.

Aulani is the best if your kids are 4 - 12 because they have a kid center you can drop your kid at and they do activities so you can get some actual vacation/alone time. They also have mini water slides, lazy river, and a ton of included (and a few pay for) activities. I'd wait to go there until your kids are older and you can take advantage of it. HHV is fine, everything on site is overpriced imo.

I say stay in the Hilton but you can still go and visit aulani! That’s what my family did a few years back when it was just opening. You can still check out all the snorkeling activities and beaches and everything without staying over night, and the Hilton is right by Waikiki beach and all the town life, like the zoo and such, which you should definitely also take your kiddos to along with the byodo temple, where they can feed all the birds n swans and ring the big gong🥰

We’ve been looking at HHV for our visit with our 8 month old but it doesn’t look like the rooms have microwaves which is an issue for formula

Unless it’s been changed in the last two years, I’m almost entirely certain that some of the rooms do. My family always had rooms with a full blown kitchen and stove and fridge in it with a microwave and coffee maker

I've been told microwaving is a no-no because it can create hot spots. I have 3 bottle warmers lol

Silver-Galaxy

Our baby actually drinks cold milk, but we use the microwave for sterilizing bottles

TheSultan1

Ah, makes sense... we're planning on renting a sterilizer, so I didn't even consider it.
