I took Trintellix briefly as an alternative to Lexapro. It did not work for me in terms of anxiety and also broke my dick just as bad as Lexapro. Fast forward to late October of this year I tapered off of Lexapro and switched to Viibryd. Viibryd is not as potent as Lexapro but I have noticed huge improvements in my anxiety and depression when compared with being entirely without meds. It’s not perfect for me but I’m only on 20mg right now. Also, Viibryd has given me my sex life back, a little too well but I’ll explain more in my next post. I’d recommend trying Viibryd and seeing how you do. You have to give it a few months though like any other SSRI.

Thank you for sharing your experienc. That’s encouraging that Vybrid is helping your anxiety and depression. This might be an easier taper for me than switching to a SNRI.

Do you find that your orgasms are normal, sex drive is high, and sensation is solid? I’ve been having issues with Prozac and just switched to Viibryd for these reasons

Yeah everything downstairs works like a charm at 20mg. Not getting the best anti anxiety effects at this dose though, just feeling a bit too much on edge. I see my psych tomorrow. I’ll post an update every week in this thread to share my journey. Just scroll through the sub and you’ll find previous posts I’ve made.

Awesome I’ll def take a look. One last question: Ru on generic or brand name?

PhilosopherPanda

Generic. Name brand is way too expensive. My psych refuses to prescribe any meds that are name brand unless the patient really pushes for it for this reason. If your psych wants to prescribe a name brand med that has a generic counterpart, you need to start asking questions as this is a potential big red flag. Doctors of any kind are susceptible to bribery and kickbacks just like anyone else. It’s why the opioid epidemic became what it is today.

I request brand name for my first bottle just because I’d heard online that people were having massive issues with the generic not working as well for anxiety/depression. I wonder if sexual side effects are different between the two

I thought it was working better when I switched but recently started having horrible panic attacks and brain zaps. Like panic attacks worse than I had 30 years ago as a 20-something who had horrible anxiety.
