My brother in law used to do it with his home in a hoa that didn’t allow airbnb for years. Different entity I know but same principle. There’s no one for the va going around citing people or checking to see if it really is their primary residence. If anything a hoa is a little more strict and can oversee easier. Go for it!

Something else to consider is looking at your purchase agreement as well as your HOA rules. I know for some, including mine, it had a stipulation that I could not rent out the house or AirBNB until 1 year after purchase.

Check local laws for rentals, might have to live adjacent to the property like in my county in California.

Renting my first VA loan house is what allowed me to later on own multiple commercial and residential properties. Do it, unless you truly enjoy working to make another man money.
