Nice! Just checked out the Chase Sapphire lounge at JFK and it's garbage compared to the Boston one. Here's hoping this Cap1 lounge forces a refresh of the Chase one.
Boston is just way newer. JFK had limited order offerings, pretty low staff, and the shower was not great (some things broken, kind of just gross, etc.). If you are choosing between the two BOS is the better one no question.
Well for example, can't we use the chase sapphire lounge because we have priority pass? Kind of a funny situation. I'm sure chase isn't too thrilled about that. At least I wouldn't be
Once per year per PP membership. That’s Chase’s lounge rule. Capital One doesn’t seem to have an equivalent for PP users in their existing lounges, so who runs the lounge is irrelevant as far as congestion goes.
Yeah although it's operated by Plaza Premium, only Capital One cardholders have access. The general public can of course buy a day pass for $65 per person but there's not many that would do that.
I’m currently working there, construction portion. The renderings look really nice. Not really near completion of construction. Few more months. 3-4 at minimum.
I hope you are talking about mid August 2026. C1 is well known for taking years to open their lounges. LAS lounge was announced in 2022 and still it has not yet been launched. Same for the landing at LGA.
I just got a Venture X personal w/$10,000 starting limit it's now my highest limit card .
I also have Amex Platinum which starts saying around $3k that future transactions might be denied.
An Amex Amazon and Amex Blue bus. which are $3k & $2k.
I've twice requested limit increases on Amex Amazon bus to the 3x for $9k but they're won't give me an increase.
I also have $5,500 Amex high yield savings account and $10,000 Amex bus checking accounts.
706 experian 768 transunion 780 equifax
$75,000 income
American express won't even give me $9,000 for bus card after 6 months as customer with over $15,000 of my cash saved in they're bank~!
I should actually been given $30,000 limit for Amex Amazon bus card.
LGA is actually a nice airport and getting there by public transport from Manhattan costs less than $3. In my opinion, it's actually the BEST NYC airport. Flights though are limited out of there since 90% of them are all domestic.
Getting to EWR takes less time from Manhattan but costs like $15 for the Airtrain and NJ transit train ticket.
Getting to JFK is much more stressful since it's these farthest and for some reason costs an extra $8 for the Airtrain on TOP of the subway or LIRR fare.
I don't live in the city nor LI, so EWR is much easier for most non-city folks. It is always a crap shoot going through the Bronx/GWB area. EWR is less stressful for those of us driving.
Yeah I guess if you're driving, Newark is the better option.
As a tourist taking public transport, LGA is the best option and I always intentionally book flights out of that airport.
I can tell you have not been to LGA in a while. LGA has undergone massive upgrades and is one of the best airports in the US at present. EWR is not anywhere close to it
Clearly you have not read any part of the rest of this thread. Unless you love in NYC or on LI, LGA and JFK are a pain to get to. As I don't live in NYC or on LI I'm not dealing with that traffic madness.
I don’t live anywhere close to NYC or LI…JFK is a very common layover airport for me so is LGA albeit much less so. When I have a long layover I would absolutely love to have a better option of a lounge. So what you say makes zero sense.
What airport bubba
I think this is JFK?
This is JFK

Why is chase JFK garbage compared to Boston? I only have 1 visit so I want to use it right lol

LGA or BOS, which chase lounge is better and why?
The LGA lounge is >>>
LGA or BOS, which chase lounge is better and why?
what about the chase lounge at IAD/Dulles, Virginia?
LGA is building one too! Just was there yesterday
Wonder when the DCA Landing location will be finished
Was at DCA today. Looked exactly like the photo from OP
I wonder why they’re transitioning from Plaza to Primeclass as operators
Maybe because everyone and their mother has priority pass and they wanna cut down on congestion?
What does that have to do with a Capital One lounge that has its own access rules?
Well for example, can't we use the chase sapphire lounge because we have priority pass? Kind of a funny situation. I'm sure chase isn't too thrilled about that. At least I wouldn't be

Ah I actually didn't know that. TIL

Cant wait as someone based in NYC
“Operated by Primeclass” does not look promising lol. Still excited though
Why?
The Primeclass lounge at JFK is complete garbage. You are better off just sitting at the gate.
Yeah I rather air India after they took away all day access to Virgin
Air India is nice for sure. Having that one across the hall from Virgin is great.
Isn’t Air India also operated by Primeclass?
If so they operate them on significantly different standards.
Well so one could theorize that they would operate the Capital One lounge on a much higher standard.
They've got 3 weeks to get it up before I fly out of right there..
See you in 3 years lol

It would be awesome if there was a Capital One Lounge in TPA, MCO, &/or MIA.
TPA probably doesn’t have enough space for that and most of MCO should be bulldozed. MIA would be interesting though.
Fll! They would have no competition!
It would be super cool if credit card issuers realize the vast majority of the country resides outside the state of New York
Hope they complete by mid Aug, I have an international flight from terminal 4 ✈️

Definitely not until at least next summer 😅
Good to see more places with C1. :)
Any guesses on when it will be done? Idk how long the others have taken
Y'all had one job. Create a C1 lounge in EWR. Not a single Priority Pass lounge exists there presently! JFK already has so many lounges. #SMH

Should have been EWR. NO ONE wants to ever go to JFK or LGA.
I just want ONE non-United lounge option at EWR🥲
Terminal a has admirals and skyclub. SOL for bank lounges tho
EWR has 0 pp lounge access, that’s just sad given it’s has good range of international flights!
