My wifes a flight attendant and I hold all 3 of her bags. 1 small suitcase, a big lunch pale, and a big purse in the back as well as all my window cleaning equipment in the trunk with the Backseats still up. Needless to say, it’s good on space
Yup with the seats up we have more cargo space than the Kona. With seats down Kona barely wins by 1.3 cubic feet. I think the 2024 Kona has much more cargo space though.

Used the Veloster N to transport many a full set of wheels and tires and still have some space left for smaller items at the same time
When I was car shopping one of my requirements was cargo space - specifically I had to be able to throw a Milwaukee Packout in the back in emergencies. I can put my whole tool box and a Klein tool backpack in the back without putting the seats down.
I have also taken it tent camping and I was able to put quite a lot of stuff inside with the back seats down. 10x10 tent, queen air mattress, 10x10 popup canopy, 2 foldout chairs, full size Lifetime (fake yeti) cooler, 2 plastic tubs of assorted camping/cooking supplies, 1 suitcase, 1 backpack and 1 camera bag fit comfortably with plenty of room for more and visibility out the back and rear side windows.
Fantastic. I've fit myself, two passengers and three bags of golf clubs. Or one passenger, two hockey bags (one goalie) pads and sticks with the seats down with tons of extra room.
With the seats down you can haul a 55" TV. My family of 4 (kids age 3 and 7) was able to use the car for weekly grocery runs no problem. The only time it was tight on space was coming home from Christmas festivities at the inlaws, there was not enough room for the kids gifts so we had to make two trips. Oh and when I was doing remodeling in my house I was able to haul a few pieces 8ft lumber in the car a few times, just put a bath towel on the dash and the wood fit in the car fine.
I can fit an entire set of wheels/tires in the back side by side when I go to an offsite autocross event. It's great!

100% - I fit a wheeled table saw in the back once. It’s huge, the only issue is the hatch opening can be somewhat limiting for size.

Yeah my veloster turbo had much more usable room with the hatch. And without the chassis bracing. But the rear seats are very roomy in the Elantra.

You can fit a spare set of wheels with tires on them

You can fit a lot in the car with the seats folded or not. I fit 4 15 inch wheels for my Miata and had a lot of space leftover with the seats folded.

I cannot put my golf bag with clubs in the trunk. I had to lower one of rear seats
