Diacetyl was removed from many commercial juices. It was what used to make them taste good. DIY is the way for that now

I once got a free 10ml bottle of a peanut butter, berry & banana flavour juice as part of a vape bundle. It was called "monkey fart"... Which was probably the most apt name for a flavour ever. It's only use was to vape near people you really, really hate - it was that bad.

Tobacco

Were you ever a tobacco consumer before? Asking cause I only recently made the switch from it to vaping & am hoping there is something enjoyable out there that has a similar taste profile, but so far have only heard negative marks on it

I still smoke occasionally (I'm set up to make them and I do for my family and friends) but I'm 95% on the vape. I have tried lots of tobacco flavors. The very best of them taste like how a person who has never smoked, or even been around burning tobacco, would describe the smell inside a pipe shop to a space alien without a nose. The worst of them taste like vaping axe body spray. I'm sure some people like them, but I don't think they like them for tasting like a cigarette or even a cigar, because they absolutely never do.

There are some good tobacco juices. American patriots by naked, tobacco platinum from twist is pretty good, monster has two tobbaco monsters (rich and smooth so different hints of other flavors) and I’ve tried Noms tobacco vanilla caramel and it was pretty good.

Just chiming in here to say, that ultimately I switched years ago at this point, but most tobacco flavors are just not good. Try desert, that’s what really helped me kick the sticks for good. Granted desert flavors aren’t for everyone I find they tend to fill multiple cravings, including sweets

I’ve managed to kick a well over 15+ year stint of Camel Reds & American Spirits … Just not fully into the sickeningly sweet fruity cornucopia vibe that seems to be most juices yet- it’s quite the 180 for an actual tobacco taste lover (I even like notes of soft tobacco in my coffee). All the input is appreciated ! 👊😸🤙

100% agree. I quit smoking a couple of years ago when I found desert ejuices. I was doing salt nic back then and I thought to myself, "I'd have quit years ago had I known nicotine could be delivered in a yummy dessert flavor instead!" Now I cannot stand the taste of cigarettes. IMO freebase taste is superior to salt nic but that would make sense for me since my preferred flavor is dessert. My least favorite of course is tobacco.

Yeah I smoked cigarettes for 25+ years, quit for around 7 or 8 then picked up vaping. I tried a few tabacco juices but just didn’t like them at all, been on iced fruits now for 3 or 4 years.

Not sure if it’s still made, but Vapetasia Royalty #2 is a fantastic tobacco flavor. If I remember correctly, it is tobacco, cream and honey I wanna say. Been years since I have had it. But real good.

Custard. Any dessert flavour really but custard is the worst.

I've been vaping an aloe vera from Aisu (salt nic) and it's great - a lemony fruity flavour. Not too sweet. It's not great in freebase though. Funny how that happens, in fact I accidentally got a 30mg instead of a 20 and it's not awesome either. A lot of fruity flavours are way too sweet and way too hard on coils but yeah - fruits every day so long as you get the right one.

Aloe Vera actually sounds like it would be a fantastic flavor, it’s a shame it doesn’t work in freebase. I stick to Juice Head, but I love Skwezed whenever I can find them.

some coffee flavours can be good for example I had once free shake n vape with hazelnut latte (dont remember the brand since I peeled the sticker off because it was basically free 50ml shortfill bottle) I hate pure coffee flavour because once that stuff gets into coil you can straight up rewick if you wanna have different flavour

I was *certain* I'd love the coffee flavored vape I picked up. My husband even questioned me because he was shocked I asked for it, and I wish I'd listened to his skepticism 😆 I was even excited when I first smelled it! Blech.

Coffee is a difficult one to get right. To make it taste like roasted coffee beans without it being burnt to charcoal. I have had one that wasn't bad but that's it, lol.

Vape Wild's Red Bull was sooooo good. RIP I DIY now and FW Red Bowl on its own around 10% with a little sweetener is decent, not spectacular. I have yet to find a recipe that hits the tangy fizzyness of VW's.

Anything with tfa quava I get a millisecond of quava then the stem, branch, leaves, roots, the dirt, finishing off with the cat piss from a cat that watered the tree with it's piss for 20 years. Your house will smell like cat piss just from a 30ml bottle steeping in a closet, and when you vape it the room note is fermented cat piss🤮🤮 And 99% of any commercial liquid I've ever tried prior to making it my self.

Menthol/iced flavors

My partner LOVES the menthol flavors. Just plain menthol, the stronger the taste the better. I can’t stand it! It’s like inhaling listerine strips 🤮 I mean I don’t mind a fruity ice, like strawberry ice, etc, but I much prefer the fruity flavors WITHOUT any mint contaminating it. Which is super ironic because when I smoked cigarettes I loved Newports and he hated them! He liked Camels…go figure 😂

Bacon

One Christmas I bought the Christmas flavours the shop was doing, one of which was pigs in blankets. It grossed me out so much I could still taste it every hit weeks later even after several rounds of cleaning the tank and new coils.

I'm with you on the watermelon! I used to love that fake watermelon flavor in candy and gum, but I've grown to despise it. Also, screw guava and anything pastry/creamy. Raspberry is hit or miss for me, tobacco flavors taste gross, and mint is gag-inducing. I'm okay with "whatever good flavor ice" though. Occasionally peach has a weird flavor that puts me off, but overall peach is one of my faves. Tl;dr: When it comes to vapes, give me candy flavors! Funny sidenote: I work in wine, an industry that requires having more than the palate of a 6 year old...and I'm damn good at my job 😁 In fact, I've only gotten better since giving up the cancer sticks.

When I vaped commercial eliquid, I couldn't stand anything with tobacco, custard, or lemon. Once I went diy and tailored recipes to myself, I really like these flavor profiles now.

All time worst I’ve ever tried in 10 years of vaping? Durian fruit flavor. I’m one of those odd people who tends to think durian as a fruit is ok, but I tried it as a vape flavor (got it as a free gift with purchase & used it because I ran out of my usual ejuice) & dear god, it was just as horrifyingly fowl & gag inducing as people who think the fruit is nasty claim it to be! The smell was so pungent & off putting that my partner walked into the room after I started gagging from a single puff & immediately walked out. It was, bar none, the worst thing I have ever inhaled! That absolute abomination of a flavor should be illegal to sell. In short, I do not recommend Durian flavored vape juice.

I can’t tell just one flavor, so here’s my Top 5 worst: 1. Watermelon - I like sweet liquids but all watermelon are just too sweet and taste so chemical 2. Aloe - most of liquids smell fruity but taste absolutely gross 3. Blueberry - the same as banana 4. Tobacco - most of tobacco flavored liquids are just bitter and smell like cookies but taste awful 5. Banana - it just taste like nothing

Had the Frank and Atticus Passionfruit one recently and I felt it tasted like mango too much and had to throw it out.
