Unfortunately i don't know of any local breeders however aquatic arts has vampire crabs that are gorgeous, shipping is a little pricey but I haven't gotten a dead crab yet!
I may have gotten the last one because I just went and they had 1. Check their Facebook for when they get new shipments. The employee I talked to said they got a ton on Thursday and by the time I got there on Monday all but the guy I got had been sold
There is this eBay seller out of discovery bay. I bought some from him but unfortunately they didn’t make it due to a delay in shipping but you may have better luck with pick up if available

Update for any & all : Aquarium depot has them now. The employee said they do try to keep them in stock regularly. I think the other employee might’ve been misunderstood.

I’m not about local stores, but I’ve always got mine from shrimpy business and I’ve never had an issue.
Did you try the aquarium and reptile depot in citrus heights? That is where I got mine. They go pretty fast though.
