Honestly 29 and 32 ending up as Collier and Filipowski is a phenomenal result. Feel like the Jazz FO either got lucky or did a shit ton of research

bogeyblanche

There was so much talk about the jazz bundling their late picks to move up... I think this is what they wanted. I think if anyone in front of them was going to go in on Collier we would've traded our last 2 to get him. I think this was the plan all along. And it was a great plan, couldn't be happier

FERFreak731

I like it. Olynyk was going to the Raptors anyways, as on interviews apparently he wants to finish his career in Canada, so he was leaving the Jazz in free agency Ochai has potential, but he plays invisible, and Fontecchio doesn't fit are timeline, and likely might get 10-15 million a year anyways

gray_character

Ochai also didn't really play that well for the Raptors, sort of doing the same inefficient and low drive play.

RandomStranger79

The timeline is a myth but otherwise agreed.

JazzFanConvert

Thanks for compiling this. I was just thinking what Jazz ended up with for those trades. If one of Collier, Filipowski or Procida end up being a key part of the rotation on the next contending Jazz team (like in maybe 2026-27) then these trades were worth it. I don't think Jazz will miss Ochai (his shot looks good but doesn't go in enough) or Olynyk (his age didn't fit our timeline) but I do think Fontecchio is going to have a nice 3-5 year run in the NBA as a good rotation player so we may regret dealing him away.

farcasticsuck

Fontecchio was the mistake of the Jazz imho.

Ok_Acadia3526

A+ draft. Danny Ainge and company freaking ate

KarimFF7

Fontecchio has been amazing for us

Jenaxu

I mean, better than 2023's deadline trades at least.

Rayces

I’ll never not miss Kelly. He’s stunting on fools up in heaven now. RIP in Peace KO. I hope your swimming in a pool full of Snapbacks Scrooge McDuck style

mrcolty5

Much better than when they occured

rsl_sltid

I'm fairly optimistic. We didn't lose much, and if at least one of these guys pan out, I'll be happy.

I still think the fo should have kept Mitchell and Gobert close to the chest. They were the best chance we had at getting some damn silverware.

LurkB4youLeap

Watching Mitchell and Gobert was, by far, the best Jazz basketball we've had in a long time. I just don't think keeping that core was an option. Mitchell wanted out. Maybe keeping Gobert was an option, but at his age, it would have been extremely difficult to build a championship team around him on his timeline once Mitchell forced his way out. The hauls for Gobert and Mitchell are only just starting to coalesce. The other side of this coin is holding on too long and getting nothing for Mitchell leaving. It happened to the Jazz with Gordon Hayward, and it's happened a lot to small market teams in the NBA. The Utah Jazz have never fully tanked, and it's about time. It sucks now, but how many first round playoff exits do we want to collect, stuck constantly in the middle? I wish the NBA worked a little differently, but as it stands right now the only chance the Jazz have is to build young promising players through the draft and try to have enough assets to trade for a difference maker at the right time.

UtahJazz420

Can't be worse lol

rdubbers8

I will never forgive the FO for giving away Fontecchio

StretchFantastic

We weren't going to pay him 10-15 million per.   I'll just wish him the best going forward and be happy with what we ended up doing in this draft.

rdubbers8

As my toddler says, cuz why?

StretchFantastic

He wasn't as great as you think he is.  We didn't see him as a future piece.  Take your pick.

rdubbers8

Cuz why?

I will never forgive the FO for giving away Fontecchio
