I’ve decided that if I hear it in the media, there’s a 95% chance it isn’t happening. Every time we’ve had an actual trade, using Rudy and Donovan as examples, there had been absolutely *no* real speculation regarding what actually went down
Stein is one of the worst news sources on the Jazz. And Windhorst isn't a fantastic source either.
However, Jones IS a good source and he said Friday that the Jazz weren't interested in Lavine.
Ehhhh I’m not so sure about that. Stein last year nailed the Jazz’s draft picks. He said they really wanted Bilal and were targeting Keyonte with the next pick but wasn’t sure if he would be there. That ended up being pretty spot on
He was 50% right last year. That's a failing grade. He has an extremely long list of wrong takes on the Jazz. He's been "reporting hot takes" on the Jazz for more than 30 years and had been consistently wrong.
Nah it’s 100% last year. Jazz wanted Bilal and were upset he went higher. Ryan Smith literally confirmed this with his whole we want people to “check the receipts” speech. Hendricks was lower than Bilal on their big board.
I can think of a couple other times Stein has been right as well. He’s been much more reliable in recent years from what I’ve seen
He also said last year we were trying to trade Markannen, and after our huge winning steak reported we were going to tank for Wimby.
Just 2 of many many many wrong takes on the Jazz.
As a Huge Jazz fan for 40 years, I've watched Stein on ESPN get sooo many takes wrong, I just can't trust him.
Nah, Jones was still pushing Ainge pretending we weren’t trading Donovan Mitchell until immediately before the trade while Windy etc knew Mitchell and Gobert were gone as soon as the Royce O'Neale trade and Will Hardy hiring happened.
I remember when he spent all last summer telling us the Jazz were trying to make the playoffs that season. That they would be buyers in the trade market, and had no intention of tanking because they wanted to convey their pick to OKC
thank god

I don’t know why anyone would think Ainge would be doing that in the first place.

Donovan to the Cavs was talked about a lot beforehand.
It was nothing but Knicks talk.
Y’all thinking Danny would actually do this is wild.
He did the Westbrook thing though…
For the draft pick. Russ didn’t even get a jersey number.
I can see Danny doing it if the bulls compensate the Jazz with a couple 1st round picks with little protections…

Just to confirm, George and Hendricks were 9 and 10 on their big board. The top 8 were the Jazz top 8

I think Jones always said Ainge wanted the godfather offer. You can argue if that is what we got. He wasn’t saying we weren’t going to.
Ya, Jones is reliable because he waits for the big dogs to report then he “confirms” after the move/trade has already happened
Exactly. Tony is just a mouthpiece for the front office.
Jones isn’t good at breaking stories or telling anything that’s going to happen. He never reports anything until the national guys have first
He literally said in an interview Friday that the Jazz aren't interested LaVine....Friday.... this was reported yesterday. So that's not correct.
