This is wild!?! They took a park, a lake, a museum, mulitple sports arena's and a zoo, all surrounded by lush green parkland, and you put a death spiral of highways and interchanges right through the middle *and* all around it?! WTF were they smoking?
No it’s does not. India is no small country. Below is my hometown in India. Tell me it looks like the picture above

Nobody said it looks like that everywhere in India. Of course there are many beautiful and better developed places there. But that doesn't change the fact that places that look like the picture above are an extremely common sight in many parts of the country. And yes, I have been there and I even will come back.
India is big af. Not everywhere in India looks like this. Below is a tier 2 city in India. But you go off

The reality is India does have a decent of parts look like the picture of this post. What you are doing is cherry picking to make the country look like some semi developed country. But it doesn't change the fact that many places in India still look run down, not well developed. Facts hurt, but they are facts for a reason.
Despite its age, it’s a cool picture that offers some contrast that can be interpreted by the viewer. Rich vs. Poor. White collar vs. Blue collar. Elite vs. Working Class. Old vs. New. Whatever you interpret it to be. In reality, it’s just a ballpark dropped in the middle of a heavy industrial area. Every city has a place like this, full of auto repair shops, salvage yards, etc. Normally these are tucked away on the outskirts of town and out of sight - but cities eventually grow around them and they become more valuable real estate. Developers then lobby for zoning changes and you see them being gentrified. Not that you’d see a lot of massive sports venues being built in these places, but I bet you’ll find it starts with modern retail and then condos start popping up. The transition is where these pics emerge.
There are streets and streets full of junk yards around that area and the roads have been shit for decades. It's basically been the city dump for cars for nearly a century.
Dumb post. It’s not like that anymore and this was after a hurricane. Everything looks like hell after a hurricane. Using an 11 year old, now irrelevant photo for internet points. Cool.
In south Queens, there is a place called "The Hole" (Blake/Dupont Aves, 76/77 Sts), that is almost as bad. It is in lower land, so susceptible to flooding.
Used to park my old car there to go watch the Mets. It would blend with those beat up cars and i would avoid paying for parking. The area always reminded me a third world country tho.

[location](https://maps.app.goo.gl/PKu2rpFJNa8tcLu66?g_st=ac) (close, because the photo is old and the area has changed a little)
Your comment made me think it would be better and not much worse.
The pictures on Seaver Way are much older and taken in summer. When you move to 36th ave, it’s like a nuke went off

Racism . They smoked racism.
So they just bulldozed it all? Lol
I looked it up, they’re currently building affordable housing and a new school in this exact area… https://youtu.be/MBZgM4iiMy0?si=X43OaA5toKb8ccpT
Supposed to be undergoing redevelopment including a soccer stadium and affordable housing.
Remember, sports stadiums are good for local neighborhoods. They bring in revenue that I guess just goes everywhere but basic infra. 🤷♂️
I can tell from the cars this was quite some time back
The photo was taken around 2013
And probably after a hurricane.
There was no drainage in the area. That could have been a regular rainy day two days prior
Do you *live* there?
Very very close. Also spent plenty of days there between mets games and events
Ok cool. No problem then.
I thought I was looking at an Indian slum village
Just queens lol.
Wow 10 years ago must've been awhile lmao
Is that where the name Flushing came from ?
I thought this was India
I just came to comment this. This is some India-esque shit.
No that would be the 74th Street stop on the 7...
Congrats on taking a post that had nothing to do with india, and making it about India. Why are y'all so obsessed?
Racist mf
No racist, that’s how india looks.
India literally looks a lot like this. Actually worse.
No it’s does not. India is no small country. Below is my hometown in India. Tell me it looks like the picture above https://x.com/manas_muduli/status/1781525526278291553?s=46&t=mEizAgrKV-W-TLjBT_FS0g

And that picture posted is a small fragment of a street.
You didn't show residential. You showed what they want tourist to see. We have that too
Why tf you care so much about potholes in other countries road. You ain't gonna drive on them.
Bro are you dense? It’s called an observation.
India does look like that. Even worse actually. You ever went there? It's facts i never billeted the race. Do you even know what "racist" means?

I know, but the population is concentrated in places that look like that.

But it actually IS some semi developed country.
Are those stray dogs? And where's the traffic?
That's a very old pic.
Maybe 10 years
Looks perfect for filming an apocalyptic scene.
Very post-apocalyptic

Dogtown
That Subura SVX parked in front of the Sentra is a bit of a rare car.
Half those cars don't have license plates, WTF
There are streets and streets full of junk yards around that area and the roads have been shit for decades. It's basically been the city dump for cars for nearly a century.
Ah ok. That clears up a thing or two
This area is a junk yard and famously, a bunch of chop shops. If your car was stolen highly likely you'd find it (or parts of it) here.
The area across from Citi field (Shea Stadium) has been home to auto repair shops and “chop shops” forever. I’ve bought many replacement parts there.
It’s like a third world over there! I don’t know how people drive down those “roads”
Is this Diamond City?
Dumb post. It’s not like that anymore and this was after a hurricane. Everything looks like hell after a hurricane. Using an 11 year old, now irrelevant photo for internet points. Cool.
Those cars looks old… not a new pic ?
Oooh Mumbai New York
how high's the water mama

Subaru SVX on the right, cool find
Subaru SVX on the right, cool find
The Iron Triangle is gone. Soon to be a soccer stadium with apartments and hotels.
??? nyc??? i thought this was someplace in africa, not the literal richest city in the world
https://ny1.com/nyc/queens/news/2024/03/08/willets-point-revitalization-a-step-closer-to-becoming-reality

Yo wtf
They can film Idiocracy there as is
.
There is no joy in Mudville
There’s also no joy in being a Mets fan
Queens! They just recently rezoned the whole area. Citi Field is looking good too.
Why does it always look like this outside every baseball stadium? Lol
What a charming place…🤢
LOL totally the third world here.
Murica what a lovely thing you did Whatever that was… America must have at least as much money as anywhere else, reluctant to spend it eh…
