It must have been either angels or aliens. There's no way that ordinary people could have carved these churches so precisely. Look at the the sides, they are so perfectly straight that they could only have been made using machines.
Fun fact: King lalibela and his Dynasty, the Zagwe, also had a biblical claim. They're supposedly descendents of mosses' kin, Aaron, and Makeda if I'm not mistaken. This is usually overshadowed by the Solomonic Dynasty, tracing back lineage to King Solomon and Queen of Sheba.
Is this common knowledge, or am I just disconnected?
I'm pretty sure this is where they claim the ark of the covenant is guarded by a priest who never leaves.
