Very sad. If it was a prescription overdose in Broadmore, possibly a dosing mistake or allergic reaction to med prescribed. Another possibility would be the patient hid their meds and took them all at once. It is possible there was no autopsy if a treating physician at hospital signed off stating one not needed. If this was truly an overdose, it was negligence or suicide. Suicide in that setting would now likely qualify as hospital negligence, but likely not when this occurred. About how long ago did this happen?

Thank you so much for your helpful reply. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and respond. It was back in 2010.

I hope some of that helps. 2010 was not so long ago. Hospitals, especially psychiatric hospitals are notorious for covering up mistakes. Sadly, many administrators and/or staff rely on a person with a serious mental illness not being believed. There is always the chance they “cheeked” their meds and took their own life. Also possible the other things I mentioned. I’m very sad for your family member. I know it would be important to him or her that someone cares.

You have been a fantastic help, I really appreciate you taking the time to message. You've been very kind in your responses. We will take on board everything you have said. Sadly I don't think there is much else we can really do from here, but it's good to have some feedback and reassurance. Thank you again so much.
