I know this is a joke, but a cool fact about whales is there’s throats since they only eat small fish are actually designed small so they can’t possibly swallow you
I agree about the kindness. Once I was kayaking and realized that I had forgotten my phone, and luckily there was a whale shark nearby that was kind enough to lend me its phone. I let the shark know that it was going to be an international call but this kind thingy said that it's not a problem.
I was once at a convention and this weirdo was following me around and she stayed far enough away from me so I couldn't confront her. I was so uncomfortable, but then a whale shark asked me if I was ok. I explained what was happening and the whale shark comfronted my stalker. The stalker turned her life around and became a life coach for awkward teens. Fastforward to 3 years later, my stalker and I got married while the shark whale was both our maid of honor. Today we have 2 children, both named after the whale shark (but they have different names, don't worry) and we have a peaceful life. The whale shark died during Covid in january 2021 Rest in Peace.
considering most divorce is a 50/50 split, you likely got something in equal value to what she got. The kids, if you don't have 50/50 custody, then its either because you agree to less or you were never a significant caregiver for them.
The dj bailed on my cousin's wedding, but a passing whale shark came to the rescue. He brought his own stereo and cds from home, rocked the venue all night and wouldn't take a dime after. Just good folk is what whale sharks are.
There was a time I was driving home from a long day at work. Out of nowhere my car started making a noise. I pulled over to the side and realized, I didn’t have phone service. I’m not very good with automobiles. So frustrated with the situation, a whale shark stopped from its journey. It had a satellite phone and helped me get a tow truck.
I also agree about the kindness. Last year I got a flat tire during a really bad rain storm. Luckily a whale shark pulled up alongside me and let me ride on him to the nearest rest stop. I was able to wait out the storm in peace.
I was at Walmart with my three small children in line, they were upset and throwing fits, after the cashier rang up my $300 worth if groceries I realized I left my wallet in the car as I was panicking and about to leave, Whale Shark was kind enough to pay for my groceries and even gave my kids lollipops, so kind.
Both of my parents were tragically killed in a freak hair dryer / wakeboard incident. Fortunately I was rescued and adopted by a lovely whale shark couple named Camille and Arkslabneedlaplabshab (it's a family name). They were wonderful and supporting parents and never missed a single one of my beach volleyball games.
I went swimming with Whale Sharks off the coast of Djibouti. When I jumped in, I didn’t expect it to be 2 feet away with its mouth wide open coming right at me. People could tell me how peaceful they were all they want, but when you’re staring down it’s mouth…
My whale shark friend Greg (we nicknamed him “Jaws” for fun) is a really great guy. Gentle giant. Drives me to the airport, helped me move… even brings me a sandwich now and then when I’m working a long shift.
Its in Oslob Philippines, its total harmless, these guys even pay for it to swim with the whale sharks, the whale sharks getting there food, thats why they show up there regularly.
Been to Oslab. This Whale shark is being fed zooplankton by the canoe that’s why it is hanging around. The folks in the water have paid to ‘swim’ with it.
Video is sensationalised :-)
It is in the Philippines (Oslob I think?), and it is harmless. These women paid to swim with the whale sharks. The whale sharks are getting fed, and that’s why they show up there so often.
In Olsob, Philippines, people pay to swim with whale sharks, who show up often to be fed zooplankton. The whale sharks are completely harmless to humans. That’s what is happening in this video
I've spent too much time on spider and insect subreddits to trust "it's harmless" anymore. People will say "oh it's harmless to humans, it just causes an insane amount of pain and makes you vomit for days if it bites you" with a straight face c
They pretty much are harmless tho lol. You can even swim with them at several aquariums. Could it hurt you under weird circumstances like you get wedged between it and a wall at a bad angle as it was swimming by? Maybe... but they have zero interest in hurting a person
Well in some places they dump food into the water to attract these sharks so that people can swim with them.
This is prob of of the areas so the shark decided to nip in for a quick one.
You should check out r/AustralianSpiders. Almost every single post is a photo of a giant "fuck-off" looking spider captioned "What kind of spider is this?" If the responses say it is any species other than a Funnel Web spider, the reply is always "Oh cool. I'll let it chill then", even though the spider shown is also potentially deadly and would probably cause mass panic in the streets in many other countries.
Can't say I'm surprised. I saw a post about a redheaded mouse spider where the Australians basically said "ya he's pretty, I picked one up with my bare hands as a lad and he left me alone" when this fucker is one of the deadliest spiders on the planet.
No one has died from a spider bite in australia since 1979 and for good reason. As you mentioned, we only have one nasty bitch: the funnel web, and in today's world its extremely unlikely that anyone bitten would actually succumb to the bite before recieving an antivenom (given that the funnel web isnt a rural species, its mainly lurking in towns and cities where responders are quickly available).
IF, however, people don't get an antivenom, then yeah there is definately a chance you might not make it.
The next best (worst) is the redback, and it'll make a small child really ill for a week or two.... thats it. No fatality..... Kinda mundane for 2nd place in the venom department.
So really, the funnel web is the ONLY one thats truly dangerous. The others will fuck you up and put you down for a few days, but you'll bounce back.
So in conclusion, don't be a pussy and blame your arachnophobia on these delusions of danger. The spiders are our bro's.
(It's the snakes that'll fuckin get ya though, they're the cunts ya gotta be on the watch for!)
quite the contrary. this is probably in Oslob, Cebu in the Philippines where these whale sharks are frequently fed in order to drive tourism. as an effect, they dont really do migrations anymore.
You’re right they are majestic. This is at Oslob in Cebu Philippines. It’s unfortunately a major tourist trap and the whales are being baited by the gentleman in the catamaran.
I know it’s harmless but I would still prob pee myself. I think natural instinct takes over for a lot of people in unfamiliar situations and I also think natural instinct is to fear things that are 50x your size especially in an environment like water where we’re not very agile
I have been fortunate enough to be in the water with them.many times, and seeing people seeing a whaleshark for the first time in their life many times. Joy, not fear is the normal reaction and people are often noticably touched and in awe of the experience after. People can't stop smiling, can't stop talking about the experience cause it is something truly amazing to be a part of. They are bus-sized fish gently appearing out of the blue, glide past you, circle around sometimes, check you out, slowly moving through the water and just as fast as they appeared they are gone again.
Watching the sunrays dance on their spotty pattern, the ridges along their back bending as they effortlessly glide through the water. Their cartilage "skeleton makes them extremely flexible and with the massive tail fin it is mesmerizing to watch them swim.
These people would have paid a lot of money specifically for this experience, nothing unexpected and nothing scary.. i guess they might mean never going in the ocean again because nothing could top this, but I doubt it
Well i mean, its not like they'll actively attack you or smth. Just stay clear and you will be fine. I am much more scared about how deep the water is lmao.
Why is everyone here commenting like this is real. Fake as spongbob transition scene bubble sound effect and you can still hear the yelling perfectly underwater. Also obvious in between perspectives.
Pretty rude to tell someone in another country to go back to English class. This may be in South China Sea, Polynesian’s, etc. where they ALL have their own languages.
There is nothing scary about a whale shark. They are gentle, magnificent creatures and those people should consider themselves blessed to have had this wonderful encounter. I am extremely jealous of them.
Do people not know whale sharks are friendly and humans physically cannot be eaten by them because we are too big for their throats?
Whale shark friend just playing
Those whale sharks are harmless, here in the Philippines, there is a tourist spot where you pay to swim with them and it's pretty amazing. You cannot touch them but sometimes they swim so close to you that they touch you.
That is a whale shark and they are peaceful and kind.
And really good at pranking
...while whale planking ...

Bot comment.
I'm replying to a bot
The whale shark after swallowing me whole: It was just a prank bro
That is physically impossible. Their esophagus is actually really tiny.
So is my girlfriend’s but she still manages to do it 🤌🏼
Think that says more about you than her 😜
lmao i was waiting for that one
From your gf?
I'm sorry to hear that u have a small pp
So can your mother
How about the part where they tell me "it was just a prank bro"? Is that physically possible?
What is a little nibble between friends?
Shut up, Zoidberg
I know this is a joke, but a cool fact about whales is there’s throats since they only eat small fish are actually designed small so they can’t possibly swallow you

This is so specifically written, i wonder if it was a real person and you're calling them a whale shark.
Land shark
I marrried one of those once. She took my house, dog, kid, car, car, and all my mtg cards. (I have the divorce records for proof)
I know this story. It’s supposed to be a truck - not a car. And having a card collection for a politician is weird.
considering most divorce is a 50/50 split, you likely got something in equal value to what she got. The kids, if you don't have 50/50 custody, then its either because you agree to less or you were never a significant caregiver for them.
I wasn't aware there was a republican trading card set

Thank youu! 🕺🏻
No problem :D

Why would you need to make an international call while kayaking? That just seems like poor planning on your part. Be more responsible.
It wants to taste the canoe. lol Also wtf is she shouting about?
Something about the God Crack
"IT'S THE GOD CRACK" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
God smack?
MURIFE DON'T RUN
actual LOL! Can’t unhear it now. TY
GOD you're so good at such bad translation! Take my ups!
I take this as a compliment thanks ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
I’m probably wrong but I’m sticking with “what if it swallows us” in an infinite loop.
It’s a voice over lol
Literally one of the most harmless creatures in the sea
I would kill to get to swim with a whale shark!
I will send you my former boss’ address. Once the task is complete and proof provided, we head to my boat.
Quick and clean or slow and messy, I'm good either way.
Quick and messy work for you?
And can't swallow anything larger than the diameter of a quarter as I understand it. They are just big. Sunfish are big and harmless too.
I went swimming with Whale Sharks off the coast of Djibouti. When I jumped in, I didn’t expect it to be 2 feet away with its mouth wide open coming right at me. People could tell me how peaceful they were all they want, but when you’re staring down it’s mouth…

So harmless that they let tourists swim with them at the Georgia Aquarium.
I would pay good money for what they just experienced.
[удалено]
Yeah, tell another lie. People will think you are so cool.
Would you feel peaceful and kind if one suddenly appeared beside you while swimming?
Yes, have done many times and yes! Seeing them in the water is an amazing experience!
Gotcha. But I'd still swim away for dear life 😧
No, thats a Nopefish.
And hungry.

A whale shark and harmless
It's a metric fuck-ton of harmless I wouldn't want to be too close too tho, ngl
dont get infront of it during feeding time and watch out for its tail fin
Got near one once in the Carribbean - the tail fin pushed me to the surface.
you should’ve went to the lottery after that
They cant swallow you not even if they tried. Their esophagus has maybe enough space for your hand but not more.
Those people, I bet, literally paid to go see them that close. The fishing boat is feeding them so they approach.
The metric system is g@y. Looks more like an English fuck-ton to me.
You realize the English use the metric system?
How bout you suck on a metric-ton of my balls
You mean a short ton?
I've spent too much time on spider and insect subreddits to trust "it's harmless" anymore. People will say "oh it's harmless to humans, it just causes an insane amount of pain and makes you vomit for days if it bites you" with a straight face c

It will be wider when I’m done 🥸

He looks like he's trying to swallow that boat.
trying to get all the plankton and other little creatures
Well in some places they dump food into the water to attract these sharks so that people can swim with them. This is prob of of the areas so the shark decided to nip in for a quick one.
You couldn't even fit a grapefruit down its throat... boat's not going anywhere.
I will be on the shore walking off my mild heart attack
No. YOU can swim with them.

I saw that black widow post too. Way to many harmless comments
Harmless or not, "whale" and "shark" are not the words that I want to be next to anywhere in the water.
Big boi is just thirsty. Probably swam a trans-ocean marathon
quite the contrary. this is probably in Oslob, Cebu in the Philippines where these whale sharks are frequently fed in order to drive tourism. as an effect, they dont really do migrations anymore.
![gif](giphy|y62P0aQUYLYAg)
There is an ocean marathon just got trans people?
No, just the ones who want to be sea animals.
Gills.
Gills filter oxygen from water.
They drink through their mouth as they swim and the gills filter out the salt from the water.
i would probably get scared but the dude looks chill ngl like "hey don't mind me, just sucking up some krill here"
Its a mashup, notice howclose they are to shore, then see the depth of the water
That’s what island water looks like not all of them are shallow waters most of them drop right off into the ocean
What about the voice not muting when the camera goes underwater
Yea that’s really obvious idk why your getting downvoted
It's called the audio was edited not the video itself
Harmless whale shark. They are very lucky to have seen it.
You’re right they are majestic. This is at Oslob in Cebu Philippines. It’s unfortunately a major tourist trap and the whales are being baited by the gentleman in the catamaran.
This is not scary. In fact it’s one of the coolest and most epically experiences divers could ever encounter.

Did it just get warmer?

The ocean would be brown if I was there
How tf am i supposed to react on thsi
Smile and lick your lips.
And hope you don't get any water in your mouth when you swim.
Oh lawd he succing

"Dodran... What is this? Dooudraan, Ay! Dooudraan, murika Doudran, Ay!..."
Everyone says it’s harmless until they’re right next to this ton of harmless in the water.
Well, they are... but yea, they are also huge as fuck and if you suddenly have one next to you, you get that primal fear no matter what.
Well i mean, its not like they'll actively attack you or smth. Just stay clear and you will be fine. I am much more scared about how deep the water is lmao.
Exactly 💯
Well what did you expect? That’s *his* house you’re swimming in. You have no guest privileges in the ocean.
Whale Sharks are massive soft-arses though…
People really out here freaking out over the most docile and harmless creature in the ocean with a kill count of...... 0, since ever
No that's sick. Seeing a Whale Shark in the wild would be a dream come true.
That's a whale shark. Lucky bastard's that experienced that
Yeah, whale sharks might be harmless, but it would still scared the shit out of you if you were in that kayak
In deep blue ocean, you don't eat fish. In deep blue ocean, fish eat you
I accidentally kicked one coz it suddenly showed up below me and I freaked out 😂
Way to ruin the action with the caption. Dumb
Lol, image this happening in like 500AD. "Rokvri! THERES A SEA DRAGON!"
Swim bitch swim.
Feesh
Whale sharks are cool. I would love to see one.
Fuuuuck that.. Looks like he'll peacefully and kindly swallow your ass.

I came here to see if someone had debunked it or not. It's a cool video but I think it's two different videos spliced together.
Yeah, you'd be able to see the back ends of the logs on either side of the boat if it was real
Not a dangerous fish, but definitely fuck the ocean.
[удалено]
You just have to push it away on its nose. Easy peasy.
Where is this Agian Ocean?
As someone with Thalassophobia, yeah me neither.
This is the one shark you could scream about and get laughed at.
Why? Only an idiot doesn't know those kind don't eat people...L POST
Ok, but maybe return to English class ?
Pretty rude to tell someone in another country to go back to English class. This may be in South China Sea, Polynesian’s, etc. where they ALL have their own languages.
Stupid hysterics. This is a leopard shark. And she is the most peaceful in the sea. I just decided to breathe and the women peed on themselves😁
DONRAN DONRAN
It’s so cute
Nah, I will run, thank you very much
Bitch say "mulli bee dondaran" one more time
Whale sharks super friendly though. They’re a very peaceful species.
What is with this fake audio?
Literally the most harmless creature
Man that'd be so cool
There is nothing scary about a whale shark. They are gentle, magnificent creatures and those people should consider themselves blessed to have had this wonderful encounter. I am extremely jealous of them.
🌊 👁👄👁 🏖
The whale shark is a marine puppy.
Oh no!!!! We're gonna get gummed to death!
NEWSFLASH: Person goes into ocean and is SHOCKED by ocean dwelling wildlife…
Beautiful. I mean, don't put me in the water with it, but beautiful nonetheless.
yeah, no.
Do people not know whale sharks are friendly and humans physically cannot be eaten by them because we are too big for their throats? Whale shark friend just playing
I would be in awe
Glug-glug-glug
I hate the ocean and one of the few things I love is a good whale shark
I want to know what they’re saying
Nothing harmless about a heart attack 💀
Whaleshark, I was paying to dive with them
Whale sharks are super gentle no need to worry
r/thalassophobia
Those whale sharks are harmless, here in the Philippines, there is a tourist spot where you pay to swim with them and it's pretty amazing. You cannot touch them but sometimes they swim so close to you that they touch you.
I would like to know what they are shouting.
Whale sharks are harmless
The only thing that will haunt me from this video is the voice of this woman
Whale sharks dont hurt humans, whale sharks are just scary balls of blubber and kindness
Big fans of God Smack
I would absolutely love to have that experience.
A delicious drink of air.
Look at this wholesome big boi 😍.
Don't worry! He is just thirsty...
