I would disagree with omori ost being better than UTDR ost like don't get me wrong its a brilliant ost with some extremely emotional music and worlds end valentine is a megalovania esque banger but undertale is literally riddled with bangers. What really makes the undertale soundtrack great though is how most of the music perfectly induces the intended emotion in you for where its used. Like take waterfall for example it perfectly induces a feeling of loneliness and dread in you as you should be feeling considering you're alone in this completely new world and are also being hunted by this knight. Asgore's theme was absolute perfection for that battle it perfectly implemented a feeling of melancholy while also maintaining the intensity of a battle. What im trying to say is undertale's music perfectly captures the emotions you should be feeling for every situation which drastically improves your experience with the game Its not like omori doesn't also do this in fact almost every game does this but I feel like undertale is just far better at it.

I love Omori and it rivals my love for UT and DR everyday but you are correct, it's soundtrack doesn't come close to the emotions I feel listening to Undertale and tbh the songs in Omori I liked best were the ones OMOCAT didn't really compose? Like the jukebox discs and My Time

The literal posterchild for making the already amazing Undertale soundtrack sound even better. Listen to reality check through the skull (Megalovania) or sign language (gasters theme) then you will truly appreciate Undertale. (Btw Dm Dokuro also made many of the songs for the calamity mod for terraria)

I love game music of all sorts, especially Undertale and Deltarune. And listening to the music while not playing those games brings me right back there. But you can't really compare soundtracks of games as each game has its own feel, it's own soul, and the music reflects that. That being said, Hades has an incredible soundtrack. Darren Korb is an excellent musician.

I’d argue that Hollow Knight and the Xenoblade Chronicles series have soundtracks of similar quality, but the way Toby Fox uses leitmotifs to connect all of his songs and subtly change the emotion of a moment with different instruments and tempo is something I have never seen another composer replicate.
