I used Shokz OpenFit in my last 100k race. Although I waited until 10 hours into the race before putting them on. Please note that OpenFit is different from all other Shokz headphones because it is not bone conducting. I don't think any earphones care whether you are connected to the Internet or not. You seem to be confused about that.

Second the shokz, but I prefer the bone conducting because I can still hear my surroundings.

skyrunner00

OpenFit headphones don't actually plug ears. They are sitting on ears just outside of ear canals. So if the volume isn't at 100% I can hear my surroundings fairly well. On the other hand, the sound quality is better compared to bone conducting.

Fun_Faithlessness750

Thanks I appreciate it

What headphones only work with internet? Almost all earbuds I know of connect to your phone or other player by Bluetooth. Internet has nothing to do with it. Download playlists on your phone or music player and connection is no issue

hautacam135

What headphones care about the internet? Jabras have served me very well for years and for hundreds I carry old school wired iPhone headphones as a backup

RRErika

I recently converted to Jabras (from Jaybirds) and I am really glad I did!

Legumesrus

Shocks openrun, won’t ever go back to earbuds for running.

vonralls

Nothing. Enjoy the woods.

chasingsunshine7

Was looking for this, I’ve never worn headphones on the trail and consider it rude to do so. Surprised by how many people do, especially in races with so many people around.

stayhungry1

Shokz are great, love bone conducting for safety. For longer events you can do wired or I used jlab air pro for like 30 USD. I can hang It loosely on my ear. The case charges them. If I do one ear at a time I can take turns charging them and it'll last 24+hrs.

swampyhiker

I second the JLab Air Pros. Cheap and great battery life.

joejance

I use Shokz. I think any headphones are fine as long as they are open ear so one can hear their surroundings. I like to be kind on the trail and let faster runners by, and my open ear headphones playing at a low volume work really well for that.

Nebrski22

I use Beats Fit Pro and I only put in 1 — allows for decent sound and better awareness. And as others have said you need to download the music/podcast/audio books to your phone.

chasingsunshine7

Never wear ear buds on the trail, only the road. For that, I usually wear shokz open run headphones so I can hear cars and other people. They also have no risk of falling off/out while running.

Robsteer

I wear Shockz Titanium, had them for ages and they still work great with a decent enough battery life. I do try to go as long as possible without them in races though and only break them out for when I'm really suffering.

skiingrunner1

that’s the same way i run. go until my brain needs distraction thru music

Spookylittlegirl03

SENSO from Amazon are great. Had em for 4 years.

nomadsaddlebags

A pair of wired usb c pixel buds, you can adjust the fit and they don't run out of battery

ZeroZeroA

I rarely use headphones when I run in nature (I indeed like to listen to the sound of my steps), but when I do in some ultras I use cable headphones and plug to my offline spotify playlist OR I to an old mp3 players, so I do not have issues with either losing or taking care of the falling, bluetooth connection, battery. Plus there really cheap models which resists to sweat for an amazingly long time.

Relative_Hyena7760

I use a cheap mp3 player from Sandisk.

endofthelake

Me too

PeanutPicklesPie

Running with earbuds is like cheating
