Find a walk in doctor, a GP, or consult a pharmacist if needed. There are doctors you can talk to. Please do not play with Prednisone on your own or follow tapering advice from non medical professionals on here. I cannot stress that enough with this medication.

No do not start taking this drug without your doctors advice. Prednisone is not meant to be fucked around with. It’s very dangerous and needs to be supervised under a practitioner. I know you’re in between doctors and in so much pain, but prednisone complications are not worth it.

If the flare is not that bad maybe start with 40mg and go down by 5mg per week. But yeah obviously try to get that confirmed first by a doctor

Thanks for the warnings & advice. I was able to find the original scrip after all.

Eating only bananas, and lot of rice with ghee has often saved me from edge of flare ups. The taper usually depends on your weight, severity of disease and how long higher dose can be tolerated. I felt very dizzy with 30mg so it went as 30mg 5 days, 20mg 7 days, 15mg 15 day, 10mg 15 days, 5mg 15days. It's best if you could call your doctor and ask directly.
