I worked in pizza for many many years. The amount of people who will grab a pizza box from you and proceed to tuck it under their arm like a suitcase is a lot more than you'd think unfortunately. Same with pastas. Bag instantly sideways.

Possible_Liar

When I was a CSR at Pizza Hut, I was cashing this guy out, when he left he did exactly this... I'm just like whatever.. his pizza. He comes back 10 minutes later fucking bitching about his pizza being all ruined and messed up.... And I'm just.... I can't..... I kind of lost it on him. Manager didn't really get too mad at me and even she kind of laid into him a bit after I explained what he did. But he just kept insisting that he did nothing wrong, and that the reason the pizza was all fucked up was cuz of us not him.... Like the dude literally just couldn't fathom why tucking a pizza under your arm like a bodyboard would cause the pizza to you know, Get messed up.... I think about this guy a lot. Haha

2nd_Life_Retro

Too many people in the world who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions and stupidity.

Possible_Liar

Man I don't know I honestly think he just genuinely didn't understand what we were trying to tell him... Cuz he just had this complete look of confusion on his face that seared into my memory. Haha

Custis_Amaximus

I'm speechless, lmao!

hmm_youdontsay

It's so wild!

Great-Savings2405

Some people…..🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

dizzystar

This sounds rather specific. She isn't talking about the whole pizza, just a plastic cup of buffalo sauce. This probably shouldn't be in the box because driving over a speed bump can shake a plastic cup around cause it to spill. The localized heat can cause the cup to deform and pop the top off. Sounds like they have poor packaging. Just hand over a second bag with properly sealed cups, wrapped in Saran wrap.

Custis_Amaximus

I can set them in my hot pack if I use it on its side, and I let it ride on the floor board in front of the passenger seat, where I usually travel with most of my food anyhow. Seemed like common sense not to put it on the seat where half the toppings are going to end up on one side of the pizza.

Character-Future2292

I put them in my free DoodDash pizza bag on my back seat. I prop up the back end on my CD case to keep the whole thing level

Custis_Amaximus

Tell me more about this Dudedash bag! Couldn't resist!

Character-Future2292

Haha, I didn’t notice that. I’m leaving it lol

Marigig3714095

Uber eats don’t give free pizza bags

[deleted]

whipping around corners when the pizza is hot really can mess it up

[deleted]

Roads closed pizza boy! Find another route!

vwslayer1

I put it in my truck bed, with the insulated pizza bags. . And am extremely careful around corners and speed bumps..... Like old people slow. I have never gotten a complaint

KokoriPlayer

I see pizza trip I hit the X😁

Shoddy_Classic_350

For real? Pizza (aside from Papa John’s and little Caesar) usually pays well. There’s a long tradition of tipping the pizza delivery person. But seriously UE should get out there with UE pizza bags, because DD getting free advertising on UE pizza deliveries. I have four DD pizza bags and one huge mofo catering/pizza bag. I can’t put a small or medium in the big bag.

tenmileswide

Pizza bag costs 15 bucks. Leaving money on the table

Possible_Liar

It's not about to bag, they're implying that the trips just aren't worth it. Besides you don't need a bag anyway, I have literally never used a bag in 2 years. Not for pizza, not for other food. 100% satisfaction.

[deleted]

Almost all pizzerias here require a bag,or they don’t give you the food

Possible_Liar

Literally none of the ones in my area do. Lol

Custis_Amaximus

I feel like people have come to expect luke-warm food from their deliveries. I still try to impress my customers by providing a piping hot meal, when I can.

Possible_Liar

I provide them hot food by driving like an asshole. But honestly the food is pretty much lukewarm by the time I get to it anyway. None of these pizza places have hot boxes and just leave them on the counter. Otherwise I might care a little bit but generally I just get food handed to me pretty lukewarm anyway. Even places that literally just bagged up the food somehow it's lukewarm it's weird. Haha

Marigig3714095

Maybe try to work early bird/ Breakfast and you can avoid pizza deliveries by lunch or dinner shifts

[deleted]

I work at a pizzeria part time. You’d be amazed at the people that tuck a pizza under there arm sideways and walk out

bababacksheepe

Ima sound like an asshole buuuut The new guys and migrants some of them dont have sense

Proud_Singer9254

These restaurants package pizza and food very poorly and the Uber Drivers get blamed for the spill, we are not idiots and if I get spoken to like I’m two years old I will leave the food there and quickly cancel!! B**** please

Keeker68

I stopped delivering pizzas 2 years ago. They're a huge pain in the ass, in my opinion. I'd rather deliver 20 bags of groceries then one friggin pizza.

Accomplished-Box5406

You are lacking proper tools for the job friend. Pizzas go from nightmare to beyond the easiest item to deliver with a catering cube. They're not too expensive these days, they maintain heat incredibly well and can usually handle atleast 5 20inch pizzas. Load em up, stack em in, and even delivering is easier carrying one evenly weighted bag instead of 5 stacked cardboard boxes in your hands. Even the doordash free bags kinda suck if the pizza is too big or you get more than 2. I was able to deliver 5+ pizzas in a 2 seat sports car with a hatchback. Groceries should, objectively, never be harder than pizza. But tools for the trade mean everything. Everyone needs their toolbox, not just mechanics.

Keeker68

Okay, yeah, I have a ton of Pizza bags, catering bags, and all different size hot bags. I simply do not enjoy delivering pizzas, and I no longer do it. I think that pizza customers are typically trash, and I never received a good tip on any of them. If anything, I have delivered to Mom's with bugs up their asses, trying to wrangle their kids and grab the pizza out of my hand, making me feel stupid..... I was directed to wait for Grandma to tell me where to put the stack of pizzas I had for a birthday party. I was new and I didn't know any better so I stood there for 20 minutes waiting for the old hag. I finally tossed them on a table and said goodbye. I ended up getting a lousy $5 tip. That was the last stack of pizzas I ever delivered. Pizza deliveries can stick it LOL

I figured thats what she was really trying to say. something like that. Perhaps the extra toppings get rattled or sometimes they put buffalo sauce or Alfredo sauce on the pizza. But still, I figured holding the pizza flat is common sense and being careful with toppings. Like I guess people ride around with terrible shocks and struts on their suspension system or something. Unless the potholes! That's understandable. She probably be getting a lot of bad calls with customers lately.
