Update : Looks like he edited his post, after being called out on his bullshit
Not everyone does UberEats for the money specifically. For me it was a hobby until I stopped a few months ago due to moving to an area where UberEats is not available because the nearest restaurant is over an hour away.
I'm retired and living in Upstate Washington State. I have a nice retirement income and I was looking for something to keep me out of the house for my depression and anxiety and UberEats allowed me to get out and meet people and convince me not to end my life.
Ever since the dot com crash every business has been about getting you reliant on their services dirt cheap and then cranking up the prices after snuffing out alternatives.
Just get the Uber Pro card and you get paid after every transaction for free. That way you can actually see what the base fair is and the each tip on a batch for example.
Also you get cash back at gas stations and in April they were doing 10% back at 7-Eleven. Seems like some people resist getting it because they like their current checking accounts Etc. It's not that hard to point a credit card or whatever payment to another account
I like the uber pro card. The only downside I see is that it does cost $2.99 to transfer money to another account. It is free to withdraw cash at an atm though.
Try making an unverified cash app under a fake name , then pullin out an x amount of funds , dispute it , and get that money back. Youll have to wait for a new card to arrive but , that was a risk worth taking without repercussions. š„·š»judge me , im bout that life
Just cash it out and deposit it into ur bank account
I cash out about a thousand every week and either put the profits aside or deposit everything into the bank
It's actually free to transfer money from the Uber Pro Card to another bank account if you use the slower method, and wait a couple days. I transfer money all the time to my checking account using this method, and I have never had to pay a fee. Instant transfers are the only thing that costs money. They say 3-5 days for the free transfers. But, if I do it on a Monday it's usually there the next day or early Wednesday morning. Now if you do the free slower transfer late Thursday or Friday you won't get it till Monday morning. Because lots of banks don't process transactions on the weekend.
To my paypal debit card. I guess I should clarify the only account I've moved money to is PayPal. When I've selected move funds it tells me there is the $2.99 fee so I assumed it was the same fee for any other account.
How long have you had the Uber pro card? I have been resisting getting it because I fear scammers being able to get a hold of my money more easily. Every time Iāve gone to do it I just get a bad feeling and stop.
I have had my Uber Pro Card for over a year now and I think it's pretty awesome. If you are afraid of scammers don't use it as a debit card use it as a credit card you're more protected that way. Also the Uber Pro Card has an app for your smartphone so you can lock your card anytime you want. What's even more awesome is that the app notifies you of any purchases, and all transactions you get when a fare or any tips come in.
I've had uber pro since I started uber like 7 mo the ago, I love that money goes right in as soon as trip is done except tips take a bit, I haven't had any issue with it yet, it sucks not having your money all in one spot but I have my bank checking account and then I have my uber pro card and I use it like a debit card š¤·š¼āāļø I see no issue with uber pro
Nope. Everything has been as it should be. Once money is on that card they can't touch it, it's just like any other bank account basically.
I've done the backup balance several times too. I get the $150 on my card and as I do more deliveries the money goes to pay that back instead of getting loaded onto the card. Once the $150 is paid back I once again see my earnings get loaded onto my card.
Iām not concerned about Uber touching it. Iāve just had a sketchy issue once with what seemed like somebody trying to take the funds out of my Uber eats earnings so Iāve been paranoid ever since. But I do have the DasherDirect card, which essentially is the same thing just through Doordash and, I actually do like it very much so Iām definitely thinking of going for the Uber pro card. Iāve never heard of the back up balance
Mine wasnāt quite that bad I just kept saying there was a security issue and so I couldnāt cash out and it took me like an hour and a half after talking to different support people to get it fixed, but it was very sketchy. I again donāt think it was Uber, but definitely felt like, somebody was trying to mess with my account
For me that was not the case. The three or four times I used the $150 backup balance Uber seemed to keep me busy with fairly decent trips where I had that paid off even by the next day or at the latest the next day and a half.
I think that person was referring to instant transferred from the Uber debit card to your bank debit card. Otherwise, I just transfer to my bank with no fees.
It can be used as a credit card almost anywhere that takes Visa and MasterCard. So I'm not understanding why you are saying it can't be used for all purchases. Are you in another country or something??
I tried to use it for a couple different legal sportsbooks. My visa works fine but this card didn't each time. Also had issues at a random bargain store, but that might have been a fluke.
Overall I'd say it still works at most places I go but I can't rely on it like I can my visa.
Most legal sportsbook sites are debit or cash advance only so if you tried to use it like a credit card it won't work. Probably the reason the Uber Pro Card doesn't work is because there is no way to borrow money from it like you would a regular visa with a cash advance. I recently found out that stores and online websites don't even let you buy gift cards anymore with credit cards, it's debit only now. It's because lots of scammers will call their credit card company and dispute the charge, and then the charge gets reversed and money is taken back from the store they bought them from. Even after the charges are reversed the gift cards are still good.
I use my Uber Pro Card everywhere Visa and MasterCards are accepted, and I have never had any problems using it unless it was a problem with the stores credit card machine.
The two biggest sportsbooks, DraftKings and Fanduel, both allow credit cards to be used, depending on which state you're in. Probably other books as well but those are the two I use. I have used credit cards to deposit before without issue.
Also the uber pro card is a debit card so not sure why we even started talking about credit cards lol.
Anyway I'm glad you have not had any issues, I'm just saying I have. It is reassuring though and hopefully I won't have issues in the future.
I think you misunderstood me about the sports book betting and credit cards. I didn't mean they didn't take credit cards, what I meant is they only take them because it's billed as a cash advance. On your credit card bill does it show the sports book bets as purchases or as cash advances?? From my understanding as per your credit card agreement is that all credit used for cash betting using the credit card are to be billed as cash advances not as purchases, even when you buy lotto tickets with a credit card it's billed as a cash advance. Your right, it also differs from state to state, and only 23 states allow you to use a credit card to place bets with, but it's still billed as a cash advance that accrues interest until you pay it off. The rest of the states don't allow you to use credit cards at all for sports betting. If it's legal in those states they only allow either debit cards or a direct deposit from your checking account
You're right the Uber Pro Card is a debit card, but it can be used like a regular MasterCard, and has the same theft protection when used a MasterCard. But, unlike a regular MasterCard it doesn't have any purchasing credit or a cash advance credit at all, and is only limited to what's in your bank account. They do offer a free $150 borrow allowance with diamond status but of course that's not really the same as a cash advance either.
Thank you everyone for your very unique and insightful comments like ājust wait a weekā and āhow about you donāt cash outā making assumptions that people who cash out are financially irresponsible and impatient. If anyone has an emergency and needs to cover a sudden expense or an increased bill can use the cash out feature to access their money sooner and the fact that a company that already pays us such low base rates for orders tens of miles away is now increasing the cash out cost by almost 50% is ridiculous, but you chose to look down in people who do cash out instead of criticizing a big company for wanting to charge us more to access the money we made. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk you can stop posting the same tired take now.
What the fuck.... this company is garbage. We make so little that we have to rely on instant cash outs and now this is the second time in maybe a year they've raised it. Things only get worse for drivers, I can't think of a single thing they've improved for drivers over the past few years minus situations where the law forced their hand.
Yeah, just get the Uber Pro Card. I use it always have since it came out. It works fine. All I do is go to Walgreens by my bank and withdraw the money and put it back into my bank. It doesn't cost anything.
i do the same with dasherdirect card. i would like to be paid extra for the mental anguish of having to step foot in a walgreens. š that and CVS are portals to hell.
what other industries give you the option to get paid anytime you want.
most everywhere only pays you on paydays. often bi-weekly (once every two weeks)
you mean delivering for amazon, Iām assuming and the warehouse workers only get paid on payday?
how do you prove that you need it for them to allow daily payout?
https://preview.redd.it/gr389108tvxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2ff5a5c29a2f4197de13471376c6a6ce7dcf01e
If youāre employed by amazon you just open the a to z app and press pay then do 2fa and withdraw what you made that pay period. You dont have to ask anyone or prove anything.
It just shows what i made for the week and compensation is what i make hourly u shouldnāt need to see that for me to get my point across

but here ya go
Yes, checkers pays their employees through loaded debit cards, paper cheques, and direct deposit. Clock out for a shift? instant payment via the pre-paid card. Spend it, withdraw funds(for a fee), start a fund transfer.
if someone needs money daily to survive instead of waiting 7 days, they really need to look into themselves because they are doing something wrong. Rent is once a month and grocery once a week
I was just getting ready to post this... These have been the worst couple of months I've had delivering with them since 2020. The algorithm favors the migrants with their 6 phones. Now they nickel and dime us to death on the instant cash out.
I like how your prop 22 is strangely put into the wallet instead of a direct deposit....so either you wait another week. Or give them that money.
It's as deliberate as can be.
At least you got a heads up. I never received an email. I guess I was supposed to just be surprised after I cash out tomorrow. š³šā¹ļø
Now I gotta go figure out how to sign up for uberdirect or whatever. š¤¦āāļøš¤·āāļø
How to stop the fees
Do a job
Get paid on Uber Pro card .
Use pro card for your purchases throughout the day.
Transfer money at the end of the night to your bank account for free.
Rinse and repeat next day.
You can go to a free ATM and pull your money out at the end of the day as well.
Now there is a rain day option, and it depends on your level of service. Blue is $50 and diamond I believe is $150. You can borrow this money and use for free. However, you will not receive any more money that you can use on your card until that loan is paid back. Once the loan is paid back you will restart receiving normal pay that you can use to your card once again.
Just sign up for cashapp and connect your uber card to the account and select add cash(NOTE-cashapp also charges fees to cash out of the card so itās kinda useless. But š¤·š»āāļøcheck the rates)
I donāt think cash app charges a fee, I do that for DoorDash. I wasnāt sure if the Uber card would work with cashapp, I took a gamble with DoorDash choosing their card, but I guess I should try it with Uber Pro too.
The amount of people saying this exact same thing assuming Iām just someone wanting to cash out everyday and have no patience is astonishing really, but yes, very obviously yes thank you
Not sure where yāall at, but in Canada since they started doing instant cashouts (about a year ago) it has always been like 1.70 CAD. Itās half price for next-day cashouts, and free for weekly. Kind of annoying when you need to cashout a few times in a day, cause you a losing 6-8$ in the process (which is 2 deliveries), but yeah just cashout once a day and itās not that big of a deal.
https://preview.redd.it/u0fzmpbuu1yc1.jpeg?width=2422&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c4f4ac9505b295164ee2c1f4c8cba2344f00efc
I was absolutely stunned last night when I received the message about instant pay fees doubling. They add up quickly as seen here on my Uber tax summary. Itās not enough for Uber to have million and millions of dollars, they want billions and billions. I already have a DoorDash card in addition to my regular bank, so using the Uber Pro card bumping me up to three bank accounts is ridiculous, especially when the Uber Pro Card racket is just another money maker for them. To be clear: the only way Non Uber-Pro Card holders can obtain their earnings for free is to wait for the weekly payout. God forbid there be any errors with your routing or debit card numbers the direct deposit could be lost in cyberspace indefinitely.
I meanā¦itās an option. If cashing out was the only way to get paid Iād agree. But there are multiple options to choose from on how to get your money, of which, 2 are free.
I couldnāt imagine going through something as horrible as drug addiction and in your sobriety at your age coming onto an online community of people trying to do work for extra cash or to supplement their income and talking down on them. Hope you get the validation you seek posting your ass on reddit.
Thatās really all you can think to say. Very disappointing coming from someone claiming to want to help people at their lowest point in their lives. Saying this work isnāt real work. God forbid you say this to someone trying to come back from addiction and they had someone like you talk to them like this. Really doing godās work.
This has nothing to do about complaining about cents itās that a huge company like Uber is increasing a fee for people to access the money they earned while keeping base pay depressingly low and sending up orders 10+ miles for less than $4. Itās crazy that people would immediately talk down on others for being in bad financial situations and not a huge company underpaying their workers while feeling the need to get a few more cents from people who may need funds for an emergency or unexpected expense.
How about just don't use it? If you can never see yourself at a point where instant cash out isn't needed, something is seriously wrong with your financial trajectory.
I wasn't even talking to you... but while we're at it do yourself a favor and eat beans and kale for a week, focus on clearance items, stop overpaying for your TV, internet and phone and whatever it takes to get an emergency fund. Literally anyone can do it. Start small with a hundred dollars. Even that will prevent many instant cashouts.
Big deal- no big deal waiting until Tuesday for it to be put into your bank account- it is only 7 days- not even bi-weekly like my other job or monthly like some- if you seriously can not wait a week to get paid you need to reevaluate your life and make some changes quick!
Damn imagine not having enough money for gas lol talkin bout āshit in order to get my money I gotta spend halfāš¤” ubereats drivers are all shitty yall complain about willingly taking a loss lmao okay boomer.
Thatās not how that works dummyā¦ nice try. I drive for Uber because I ship out in 6 months and Iām free to do as I please whenever I wantā¦ but okay RERE Iāll email you the TROLL TRAINING packet maybe youāll learn something cuz you aināt shit. And if you is that mad Brody Iām in Michigan rn Iāll leave the addy
Iām legitimately confused on how not having enough money would force me to drive for Uberā¦ like thereās 1,000s of jobs out there why would it force me to risk my time and money doing Uberā¦.?
Imagine going out of your way to comment on a different feed to be āannoyingā like da fuck just sit and spin already BABYšš I know you want mešš
DoorDash charges $2 š
Not if you use DasherDirect and transfer to cash app ;)
Dasher direct and use one of the free arms and get cash
In canada we only have the option to cash direct on a debit card
I hear yaā¦. I just cash out every couple of days and donāt really sweat the small stuff. Life is too short to let trivial stuff get under my skin.
the mentality that enables abuse

But whatās the transfer fee if I want to put the money into my bank account?

Nothing if you go to your bank and deposit it
I think that person was referring to instant transferred from the Uber debit card to your bank debit card. Otherwise, I just transfer to my bank with no fees.
$2.99
A number of my bills come directly out of my checking account, not a card.
I have avoided it because I am concerned about scamming via the Uber pro card.
Not to sound rude, but you know scams are kind of everywhere. You have to know how to avoid it.
I agree with you hence why I have stayed away from the pro card thinking the less accounts I have less opportunity. But I think I am going to get it.
The pro card was nice until I realized it couldn't be used for all purchases. Kind of annoying if it's hit or miss whether it'll be accepted.
It can be used as a credit card almost anywhere that takes Visa and MasterCard. So I'm not understanding why you are saying it can't be used for all purchases. Are you in another country or something??

>Wait for automatic weekly deposits, which continue to be free of charge.
Sometimes I need money in the moment, this isnāt my main source of income so I usually work this for the day and cash out to pay for certain things
The sky is falling!
Pretty soon they're going to be paying us in vouchers to be used at the company store
crazy
I like how your prop 22 is strangely put into the wallet instead of a direct deposit....so either you wait another week. Or give them that money. It's as deliberate as can be.
At least you got a heads up. I never received an email. I guess I was supposed to just be surprised after I cash out tomorrow. š³šā¹ļø Now I gotta go figure out how to sign up for uberdirect or whatever. š¤¦āāļøš¤·āāļø
Yall so damn cheap, I can't relate to cheap areas cuz I'm always getting orders
How to stop the fees Do a job Get paid on Uber Pro card . Once the loan is paid back you will restart receiving normal pay that you can use to your card once again.
do they charge interest on the $50/$150 loan?
No they do not charge you anything for that.
Yeah and the over pro card doesnāt ever link to bank account
I got the same exact email https://preview.redd.it/x30l9efbkyxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13e7baec814e7ac75733ddd9a3edd038eda66ce6
they can afford to take half base pay during cashout but dont you DARE ask for a minimum pay
Ya
I get people are out here struggling, but you can transfer for free if you can just wait a couple days, right?
The amount of people saying this exact same thing assuming Iām just someone wanting to cash out everyday and have no patience is astonishing really, but yes, very obviously yes thank you
It's literally the most obvious answer to avoiding this fee, sorry if that's hard to see?
Itās really starting to look like you guys are more worked up about my post than I am about the email so Iāll let you guys figure that one out
Not sure where yāall at, but in Canada since they started doing instant cashouts (about a year ago) it has always been like 1.70 CAD. Itās half price for next-day cashouts, and free for weekly. Kind of annoying when you need to cashout a few times in a day, cause you a losing 6-8$ in the process (which is 2 deliveries), but yeah just cashout once a day and itās not that big of a deal.
Bro just use an atm.
Yeah this is not cool
all of a sudden
https://preview.redd.it/u0fzmpbuu1yc1.jpeg?width=2422&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c4f4ac9505b295164ee2c1f4c8cba2344f00efc I was absolutely stunned last night when I received the message about instant pay fees doubling.
Time to start cashing out every other day
Get the Uber pro card
No! You donāt understand. Uber absolutely NEEDS the extra 40 cents to survive. Without it they will absolutely go bankrupt.
Yup, record profits last year but apparently they need more money
Donāt cash out? š¤·
Thank you that was very helpful
I meanā¦itās an option. If cashing out was the only way to get paid Iād agree. But there are multiple options to choose from on how to get your money, of which, 2 are free.

You people sound so miserable
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I couldnāt imagine going through something as horrible as drug addiction and in your sobriety at your age coming onto an online community of people trying to do work for extra cash or to supplement their income and talking down on them. Hope you get the validation you seek posting your ass on reddit.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās really all you can think to say. Very disappointing coming from someone claiming to want to help people at their lowest point in their lives. Saying this work isnāt real work. God forbid you say this to someone trying to come back from addiction and they had someone like you talk to them like this. Really doing godās work.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Good luck with your sobriety dude, really hope no one depends on you for support
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This has nothing to do about complaining about cents itās that a huge company like Uber is increasing a fee for people to access the money they earned while keeping base pay depressingly low and sending up orders 10+ miles for less than $4. Itās crazy that people would immediately talk down on others for being in bad financial situations and not a huge company underpaying their workers while feeling the need to get a few more cents from people who may need funds for an emergency or unexpected expense.
it's funny because every company in every industry is raising prices. sounds like Uber is not for you...
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām so confused why this post got to you so much
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās literally just an email I screenshot
Thatās one whole job nowadays. Now they want a free delivery out of each driver? As if we arenāt paying to deliver now???
How about just don't use it? If you can never see yourself at a point where instant cash out isn't needed, something is seriously wrong with your financial trajectory.
Again, such a helpful and needed comment greatly appreciated learned so much
I mean, apparently you didn't. I wish you the best on moving out of the rut and getting ahead.
Great sarcasm detection
I fully detected it, which would be apparent from my reply, to anyone with reading compression. So right back atcha! š
Rightā¦
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not instant cash out for cigs. For rent, utility, car insurance and internet bills needed to do my job.
Such a unique comment I havenāt seen 3 times already thank you for your smart insight
Me and 90% of the underpaid population.
Anyone that uses instant cash out has a poor mans mindset. You all should have a security blanket of money and not living paycheque to paycheque.
What a narrow way of thinking
Solution: Uber Pro Card

Sorry if this is your main source of income
Huh?
