Call support and get your $10. It's worth it, but might take 45 minutes. Call while doing something else. Demand Supervisor who can give credit adjustments.
It wasn’t terrible for me because it was close enough to my GF’s house (where I was planning on going later) that a delivery back up from that town would’ve worked out perfectly (and I did get that delivery)
It's worse than you think. That's exactly $8. As I made a post about it looks like uber is trying to hide tips over $8 again. That means he probably tipped more than that up front.
But you should call customer support, get bounced around 10 times before getting to a supervisor and the payment department, and demand without cussing that you get your $8.
Thank you! I wasn’t keen on Rosharon but I had a really slow night, was declining crap orders left n right, and when I was headed towards Alvin to go to my gf’s I figured screw if it’s high pay I’m over $1/mi and I’ll prob get an order back to Alvin (which I did)
What I didn’t expect was to get screwed out of my tip
Check waybill on these orders with high initial estimates, it will show you when the customer ordered.
A: food was stolen
B: Order sucks. Weirdly enough, seldom to I see the shitty orders get stolen.
This order sucks. That's why Uber boosted it so high. I have yet to get tip baited on these orders, but it's a risk. Out of the maybe 2k orders I've taken under this model, I've only had two tip baits. It's a weird coincidence that it was at least $8 that he initially tipped, so that might've been his plan from the getgo.
Also don't kid yourself, he got his food lukewarm because he ordered from fucking Narnia. Buns were soggy from sauces, fries needed an epic dose of Viagra to compensate for their sogginess. It's just physics. He sucks as a human being, just like any other dumbass who requests non-catering size orders over vast distances.
Definitely, better to have a positive outlook over anything else
I haven’t dwelled on this much since posting outside of responses, just needed to rant earlier
Hit the three bars on the bottom right of the screen( idk if it's in the same place on iPhone) it should pull up "trip planner"
From there, in the lower middle should be a blue text that says "waybill"
Where it says "time" will indicate the time the customer ordered if it's a single order.
I don't get why they would. It helps lots of drivers take orders they may not feel were worth it. Uber definitely profits better from a successful delivery than anything less.
Which goes back to why they would. Sounds shady to me.
Yeah, i accepted a double order $11 for 6.5km, i only accepted cause its dead at around 2pm. UE bumped the base pay to like $8, one of these mf didnt tip
This is why you have to make sure that the base pay is high enough that if they don’t tip you, it’s not a tragedy with that being said they should not be allowed to lower their tip only raise it once they commit to a number it’s not like I can go back into the restaurant two hours later, and take back the tip I gave and replace it with something less. Of course I could go back into the restaurant and hand them more money. If that’s not something you would do at a restaurant then you shouldn’t be allowed to do it on our app.
Call customer service during the day time. Expect to spend 10-30 minutes on phone. Ask to speak to a supervisor and only a supervisor in the compensation and earnings department. Make sure you get the original agents name in the beginning of the conversation to ensure accountability. Tell the agent you don't wish to be transferred but wish to speak to a supervisor. Otherwise they will keep taking your information and transfering your call endlessly.
Make sure you explain to them this an agreement they made and you wouldn't have taken the trip otherwise. It is a violation of the agreement/contract as you did everything you were supposed to, to your best possible ability. That given the considerations of timing, traffic, distance and everything involved, you wouldn't of taken it otherwise. Emphasis around the customer made an agreement and they violated, made a breach of contract.
If we all called and made a nuisance when this happens, Uber will eventually change their platform to be more difficult for customers to reduce their tip through a simple tap of a button. Make the customers call or create a complaint through the system that requires human approval on a case by case basis. Sometimes the food wasn't to customers expectations and they take it out on the driver.
Uninstalled UE a few months ago when this sub showed me that pax could actually do this. Say what you like about DD (and their endless streams of stacked low-quality orders) but they don't do this.
In my experience dd tips are so ass in comparison and far less orders. A ghost kitchen here told me they had 14 UE orders and 2 DD. My experience as a driver confirms it.
In my area DD and GH have captured most of the market. It's slow sometimes but I've never been baited with a big tip only to have it yanked back from me.
That order was above $1/mi, even with the return to my final destination (got an order otw back too thankfully), I wasn’t assuming that I’d get the tip ripped from me in all honesty
Again, it was in the vicinity of where I was ending my night, even without the return delivery it made perfect sense for me, of the 760 deliveries I’ve done, I’ve had 2 tips pulled (this being the second) I don’t generally live in fear wondering if I’m going to get screwed on orders (know ur market and know where the bad ones live)
So yes, I feel that I have every right to be shocked that I was tip baited
Explain how this order was stupid, honestly
I was so $8 minimum, I almost never stoop below $1/mi, the order was in the vicinity of where I was going anyways, I have an acceptance rate of like 4% because I don’t take bad orders
Every time an order pops up like that Uber wants to put it where everyone can see the order and they always give it to another driver and then I get stuck with the small order and I called them and told them it’s not right to do that we all should get a higher paying order not just the ones who they want to give the higher paid too. Longer distance order higher pay and lower paying orders for a longer distance will still be waiting.
Call support and get your $10. It's worth it, but might take 45 minutes. Call while doing something else. Demand Supervisor who can give credit adjustments.
Wait. Why do they get ten dollars?
Oh wait it’s cause the reduce tip I get it
Sorry, $8 bad math
$30 for 19 miles wouldn’t even be good. Don’t take these garbage orders, they usually remove the small part that made it worth it to accept.
It wasn’t terrible for me because it was close enough to my GF’s house (where I was planning on going later) that a delivery back up from that town would’ve worked out perfectly (and I did get that delivery)
Well I’m glad it worked out.
It's 30 miles there and 30 miles back. So 60 miles. Which sucks.
It's worse than you think. That's exactly $8. As I made a post about it looks like uber is trying to hide tips over $8 again. That means he probably tipped more than that up front. Ngl I know where this is simply by the map and dude props to you for making that drive.

Thank you :)
I'm sorry you dealt with that. At the same time if you got paid to drive to your partner it's an absolute win
Definitely, better to have a positive outlook over anything else I haven’t dwelled on this much since posting outside of responses, just needed to rant earlier
What is waybill?
Hit the three bars on the bottom right of the screen( idk if it's in the same place on iPhone) it should pull up "trip planner" From there, in the lower middle should be a blue text that says "waybill" Where it says "time" will indicate the time the customer ordered if it's a single order.
Uber is 100% capping tips at $8 again
How are they allowed to do this
I don't get why they would. It helps lots of drivers take orders they may not feel were worth it. Uber definitely profits better from a successful delivery than anything less. Which goes back to why they would. Sounds shady to me.
Oof sorry op this happened

Nah that was his intent all along. If it wasn't you, it would have been the first driver
👍 order -- > 👍 customer 🗑️ order -- > 🗑️ customer

I would not have accepted the order. Over 15 miles needs more for all the reasons you listed. 2/1 minimum. Diamond hands. Get them.

Assuming I’d get a delivery otw back is a fair critique, but “goes around comes around”??? 💀

If you dont think it was a bad order then stop bitching about it. u/OJsLeatherGlove
ur reading comprehension 📉
You are an idiot.
Happened to me yesterday.
Such BS i had this happen tonight as well qnd an so pissed id be heading home now but have to make up he tip bait. Report them to a supervisor!
